TLC439 Reflective Stamping

Hello everyone....Hope you have had a great weekend!!! My grandson, Cole, has been visiting with us for the past week and believe me, there is never a dull moment when he is around!!! He is hung up on playing double solitaire so we have had some marathon games...LOL!!!  Anyway...it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast this week and I have an old technique for some of you but it's new to me....reflective stamping!!

Here are the deets:

1. Gather supplies....card stock, inks, stamps, and a piece of acetate
2. Stamp your image on the card stock
3. Ink up your stamp again and this time stamp it on the piece of acetate
4. Flip your piece of acetate over so your stamped image is facing down. Line it up with your first image to create your reflection. Place acetate on card stock.
5. Rub over your acetate. It will transfer the image from the acetate to your card stock.
6.
If you use an image stamp you can finish it by doodling or drawing  a line between your stamped image  and the reflection to ground it.
7. If you use this technique for word stamps, you can use a lighter color or a different color altogether for the reflection. You can add the ground line or not for word stamps...what ever strikes your fancy!!!I found an excellent tutorial on Splitcoast by Beate...she shows you step by step how to do this fun technique!!

My card features stamps from Taylored Expressions Happily Ever After set.  The Love stamp was stamped with Coastal Cabana and the reflection was stamped with Pool Party. The leaves were stamped with Pistachio Pudding, cutout, and adhered under the flower. The sentiment is from the same set and the sequins and twine finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today....I hope you find the time to play along with us in this weeks TLC challenge!!!

Mojo Monday # 302 sketch. A little sewing was done around the edges and the ribbon and diecut snowflake finish it off.

Paper Smooches Creations

Hello everyone....hope all is well with you!! I am finally breathing a sigh of relief...my church Christmas in July craft sale was last Saturday and I worked my little fingers to the bone all week trying to get my Christmas card sets finished!! We had a great sale and decided to have another one in November. Hopefully, I will get started on my card sets much sooner...LOL!!!! I will have some pictures later in the week but today I wanted to share some cards that I made with Paper Smooches stamps. Did you know they are now a member company on Splitcoast?? Here is a link to their forum....you will find lots of useful info, challenges, and fun chit chat!!!

I made this fun Christmas card for last weeks Color Challenge on Splitcoast.  The challenge colors were Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, and Kraft. My card features stamps from Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes set...the snowmen were colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up on foam dots. The papers are from my scrap basket and the wood snowflake and twine finish it off.

This card was made for last weeks Ways to Use it Challenge to use metal on  our projects.
It's been a while since I have used any metal on my cards......I used a few little flower brads...the backs were taken off and glue dots were used to adhere them to the grass. The flower image from Paper Smooches Perky Plants set was paper pieced with papers from Jellibean Soup. The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums set and the twine is the finishing touch. This is also for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.

My last card was made for the Free 4 All Challenge on Splitcoast to revisit a past challenge.
I love orange so I just had to revisit F4A61 to use orange somewhere on a card or project. The yummy images from Paper Smooches Sugar Rush set were colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up on foam dots. Washi tape was used at the bottom and the sentiment is from the same set.

That's about it tonight....It's after midnight and I need to get these old bones in bed!!! Have a fabulous day!!!!

Taylored Expressions: Share Joy Campaign

Hello everyone!! Today marks the beginning of the Share Joy Campaign....The Share Joy Campaign is an invitation to celebrate the joy of card making and to share that joy with others.  The gift of a handmade card can bring a smile to anyone’s face, and we want to bring as many smiles as we can to the faces of people around the world!  Please join us in creating and sending handmade cards that will make a difference in the lives of others.

This is just the beginning..... we will be donating the cards to various charities as time goes on and we will start by sending this first batch of cards to hospital chaplains throughout the U.S.   TE stamps are not required, unless you want to be considered for the opportunity to have your card featured on the TE Store homepage.

Be sure to go to the TE Share Joy page for all the details!!!

My card features stamps from several Taylored Expressions Stamp Sets.... Branching Out for the branch and leaves, Delightful Day for the flowers, birds, sentiment and bubble, and Garden Party Blooms for the sun.
The little birds were paper pieced with scraps and the flowers, leaves, and the edge of the word bubble were colored with Copics. The sun was stamped with Summer Sun and the background clouds were sponged on using a home made cloud template and Bashful Blue ink. A little sewing was done around the edges and the twine finishes it off.

Sharing the Joy of card making is very near and dear to my heart!!! I love to make cards for my family, friends, and church family. I think they love to receive them, too... I remember one year I was a day or two late with my grandson Ryan's birthday card and I din't have time to make one so I actually bought a card...gasp!!! Ryan asked me why I didn't make him a card and I felt sooo bad!!! That's when I realized that everyone feels special when they receive a handmade card especially for them....that is my joy...to make my loved ones feel special!!

Check out all the designers who are participating in the Share Joy Campaign!!!

Thanks for stopping by....be sure to check out all the details for the Share Joy Campaign!!!

TLC437 Tissue Stamping

Hello everyone...It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have a fun technique for you suggested by Sue (bensarmom) called *Tissue Stamping*!!

There are several ways you can do this:

1. You will need tissues (Puffs, Kleenex, etc.), a light, medium, and dark shade of each color you are going to use, and a solid stamp.
2. Ball up your tissue like a sponge and starting with the lightest color, pounce the tissue ball onto the ink pad and then pounce it on your stamp.
3. Now do the same think with the medium color using a new tissue and then do the same think with the darkest color along one side for the shading.
4. Huff on stamp to re-moisten and stamp.

You can also:

1. Use tissue to sponge the background
2. Use tissue to color line stamps, cut them out, and adhere to your project.

Here is a video on tissue stamping that Sue sent me by Art and Soul

My card features stamps from Taylored Expressions A Day in Paradise...the sail boat which is a solid stamp was tissue stamped with Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Real Red....it was cutout and popped up on foam dots. The chairs which are line stamps were stamped with Elegant Eggplant and tissue stamped with Lavender Lace, Wisteria Wonder, and Elegant Eggplant.....they were then cutout and popped up on foam dots. The sky was tissue stamped with Summer Sun, Marigold Morning, Pumpkin Pie, and Pool Party....a punched circle was taped to the background prior to adding the color to create the sun. The ocean is a torn piece of Pool Party and the sand is Crumb Cake that was torn and embossed with the Dotted Swiss folder. The sentiment is from the same set and the twine is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by...hope you can join us for this weeks TLC!!!

Color Throwdown #249

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge and I picked some patriotic colors since tomorrow is the 4th of July!!! I'm sure you are a little tired of red, white, and blue so I added a punch of Bermuda Bay to pump up the volume a little...LOL!!

Are you going to do anything exciting for the 4th?? We are going to chill in the air conditioning!! It has been up to 106 here this week so I think I'll stay inside...LOL!!! The last of the Grands left last weekend so my house has been quite!! I actually got a little blogging done and I also cleaned my house...you would be surprised what I found under the beds and stuffed into drawers...LOL!!! Anyway...

I want to say goodbye to Wanda Guess who was our June Guest designer...what a joy it was to stamp with you, Wanda...you are sooo talented and your cards were all sooo gorgeous!!!

I also want to welcome Stacey Schafer as our July Guestie....we are all really excited that you will be joining us!!!

Also....next week is the 5th anniversary for The Color Throwdown Challenge and we have something fabulous planned with lots of prizes to give out so be sure to mark your calenders so you can join in all the fun!!!!!

My card features Stamps and the Seasonal Wreath Die from Taylored Expressions: 4th of July Wreath for the wreath, stars, and sentiment, the Graphic Greetings Patriotic sentiment stamp for the sentiments adhered over the arrows, and the rick rack stamp from Garden Party Blooms. Papers from the Patriotic Project Pantry  were cut into arrows. The wreath was colored with Copics, cutout with the coordinating die, and hung on the arrow. The Graphic Greetings Patriotic stamp was stamped with Brilliant Blue and Bermuda Bay and then the different sentiments were cutout and adhered over the paper arrows. The stars, rick rack, and 4th of July sentiment were stamped to finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD249 to the keywords section when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

Patriotic Wreath

Good morning everyone....hope all is well with you and your's!! I striped all the sheets and blankets off the beds and have been washing clothes for the last couple of hours. I actually did a little dusting yesterday and later today I'll run the sweeper and mop. Don't ask me what has gotten into me...the cleaning bug musta bit me last night...LOL!!! Anyway....  I made this card last night but was too tired at 1:00 AM to upload till today....it's for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use red/white/blue. I just love patriotic cards and already had all the papers and stamps on my counter so this came together real fast.

The wreath from Taylored Expressions 4th of July Wreath set was colored with Copics, cut out with the coordinating die, and popped up on foam dots. The sentiment flags were cut from the Taylored Expressions Graphic Greetings Patriotic stamp. The punched star with the button, twine, and the crazy sewing finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today....I'm off to finish my laundry and then I can play in the craft room till supper time...woot!!!!

TLC436 Birthday Fishes

Hello everyone....hope you had a great weekend!! Are you getting ready for the July 4th celebration?? We are having our annual church craft sale on July 13 so I am spending every spare minute finishing up some Christmas card sets and some other non-stamping items. However, I went to Splitcoast this morning and saw Judy's TLC challenge to use traditional holiday colors on a non-holiday card...I just had to play!!!

Christmas colors were used on the little Paper Smooches fish...they were colored with copics and googlie eyes were added. The waves and word bubble were drawn on....The fish and sentiment stamps are from the Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies set.  This is very CAS and just perfect for a little boy birthday!!!

OK....I'm off to finish up some Christmas card sets and then it's back to the computer to visit some of my favorite blogs....thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!
