Creative Belli Challenge #125

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use acetate or vellum on your creation. You can use acetate to stamp on, create shapes, snowflakes, or create a window effect or box; vellum can be used for a sentiment, scallop, or background...what ever your little heart desires!! Remember, the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!
My Christmas card features stamps from The Little Paper Shop...the sentiment is from the Global set and the bird is from the Christmas Wishes set. Retired Stampin Up! snowflake vellum was sewn onto a piece of red dp and the scallop was made from a piece of vellum that was embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. The Candy Dots, seam binding, button, twine, and felt snowflake finish it off.

This is for a few other challenges:
1. Ribbon Carousel Challenge - use 2 or more items that come on a spool (I used seam binding ribbon and twine)
2. My Craft Spot - sewing, stitching
3. Card Cupids Blog - stitching
4. Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - build up the layers
5. Hooked on Crafts - winged things

Be sure to stop by the Creative Belli Blog to see what the other Belli Girls made for you today....you will find lots of awesome inspiration!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast, PCP, Stamp TV or another online gallery be sure to add CBC125 in the keywords section.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!!

TLC340 Embossed Kisses

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and this weeks challenge has come to us from the very talented Susan Roberts...it's called Embossed Kisses!!! She created a tutorial for this technique on her blog...check it out!!

My card features ornament stamps from Papertrey Ink's Vintage Ornaments. Each ornament was "kissed" just a little bit differently. The red one was inked up with Riding Hood Red and kissed on a dry diamond shaped embossing folder before stamping it on the white cardstock. The light green one was inked with River Rock and kissed on a snowflake folder that was inked up with Old Olive. The small round ornament was inked with Old Olive and kissed on a swirly folder that was inked with black. The ornaments were all cutout and adhered to the doily with pop dots. The doily was cutout using a Papertrey Ink doily die, the scallop was made with a Papertrey Ink scallop die, sewing was done around the edges of the background paper, and the seam binding, felt snowflake, button, and Baker's Twine finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Papertrey Ink Vintage Ornaments
Paper: Authentique's Wonder dp, Vanilla, Riding Hood Red
Ink: River Rock, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Black
Accessories: Gold Cording, Seam Binding, Felt Snowflake from Little Yellow Bicycle, Button, Baker's Twine, Doily Die from PTI, Scallop Die from PTI, Sewing Machine, Embossing Folders

Thanks for stopping by....come join us for the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast!! I would love to see what you create!!!!

Hello Friend

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!!! My heart goes out to all those along the eastern shore...hopefully Irene will calm down into a tropical storm and we won't end up with flooding and distruction!!! What a crazy world we live in...too much rain in one area and none in another!!!
We are going to have a couple of Grands stay with us tonight so I will do a little stamping therapy this afternoon  before they arrive....I will need all the strength I can get...LOL!!!
I made this card last night for a friend who needs a little cheering up...I thought the sweet little girl from Crafty Secret's Couple of Cuties set would be just perfect! She was colored with Copics and the sentiment is from the same set. The papers are from Prima's Annalee collection and the lace and sticker flowers are the only embellishments.
This is for a few challenges:
1. Alphabet Challenge - O for only 3 embellishments (I have 2 flowers and lace)
2. CAS-ual Fridays - stickers (I used 2 flower stickers)
3. Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge - diecuts or punches
4. Blogger's Challenge - Tic-Tac-Toe (I used lace, patterned paper, and diecuts)

Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!!!!!

Embossed Roses

Good morning everyone!! I am really excited ...my niece from Alaska will be arriving later this morning for an overnight visit. She will be retiring from the Air Force in May and has been in Dallas interviewing for a job. She is an OR nurse so I'm sure she will have her pick of positions. I am thrilled she wants to settle in the Dallas area....I am only 2 1/2 hours south which is a heck of a lot closer than Alaska!!! I'm not sure how she will handle the heat...summer temps in Alaska run around 70 degrees unlike our 100+ degree weather!! Anyway....I made this card last night while watching a show about hoarders. After watching that show, I thought I better clean out my craft room...LOL!!!
The Rubbernecker stamp called Rose Silhouette #537-01    was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embosses with clear ep. The patterned paper in the background is from 7 Gypsies Avignon and the rhinestones, lace, seam binding, button and twine finish it off.

I made this for the following challenges:
1. Paper Sundaes - green, buttons, banners, and/or twine - use at least 2
2. Scrappy Frogs Challenge - bling
3. Mark's Finest Papers - embossing (I heat embossed the silhouette)
4. Sugar Creek Hollow - buttons and bows
5. Cas-ual Fridays - embossing (I used heat embossing)

Thanks for stopping by...I'm off to clean my house a little and make some home made blueberry muffins for breakfast....yummmm!!!

Hi, Sweetness!!

Good Sunday morning everyone.....this will be a quick post this morning.....my DGD Mackenzie spent the night and I need to get her up for breakfast and then we both have to get ready for church. Anyway....
I colored and paper pieced this sweet little Pure Innocence image from Papertrey Ink's Lilly of the Valley set...the paper is from the Girls paperie called Kitch. She was cut out and mounted on a PTI doily diecut....pretty simple!! I can't believe I didn't even add a ribbon...yikes!!! I am going to put this in Mackenzie's suitcase so she will find it when she gets home...she is such a sweetie!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Sunday!!!

Rick Rack Rose

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great day so far!! This is the first morning all week that I didn't have to get up early so what do I do?? I wake up at the crack of dawn...oy vey!!! I am sooo not a morning person but my sweet hubby gets up at 5:00 AM every morning....too many years in the US Army, I guess...LOL!! Anyway....I did a little stamping last night during Project Runway....I just love that show!! Someone in blogland made a flower out of rick rack and I decided to give it a try. It took me almost an hour ...it's held together with glue dots and Score Tape so don't look too closely!!

The background cardstock is from A muse and the sentiment is from A muse's Contemporary Greetings set.
Sewing was done around the background layer and the Spellbinder's leaf diecuts, doily, and scrunched ribbon finish it off.

I used the same colors that were on my counter for the Color Throwdown #155 Challenge from yesterday.
This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Dare to be Sassy Challenge - use more than one diecut
2. Creatice Card Crew - hand made flowers
3. The Pink Elephant - stitching
4. The Shabby Tea Room - polka dots

Thanks for visiting today....hope you have a super wonderful day!!!

Song in my Heart!

Good morning everyone....I waited to go in my craft room till after 9:00 last night and I didn't have a clue what I was going to make. I didn't feel like coloring anything and I wasn't in the mood for flowers....where was my creative fairy Godmother!!!! I finally went to the puter and checked out a few challenges....now why didn't I do that in the first place...geeezsh!!! I used polka dots for the Shabby Tea Room challenge, the sketch from Mojo Monday #204, and the colors from the Color Throwdown #155: Rose Red, Barely Banana, Kiwi Kiss, and Early Espresso.
The bird image from Verve's Swan song set was stamped on the PTI doily diecut, the Tim Holts Flourish Die cut was used behind the image, sewing was done with brown thread on the Prima Annalee dp in the background, and the button, ribbon, and twine finishes it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Verve Swan Song,  Paper: Vanilla, Rose Red, Early Espresso, Prima's Annalee dp, Echo Park Victorian Garden dp,  Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa,  Accessories: Yellow Copic for the bird, PTI Polka Dot Ribbon, Button, Brown twine, PTI Doily Die, Nestabilities, TH Flourish Die, Sewing Machine

Thanks for dropping by....I have a busy day planned today...My Dad has a doctor's appointment this morning and this afternoon my church is having a reception for the teachers of our adopted school. We do this every year on one of the workdays they have before school starts. Since the school is right next door, the teachers look forward to some baked treats and a little rest during their busy day. We also present them with lots of school supplies for their supply closet...with all the cuts the state has initiated this year, the extra school supplies is greatly appreciated and used by teachers and students alike.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Stacked Card Tutorial for TLC338

Hello everyone!! It's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and my challenge to you is to make a Stacked Card!!!

First, you will need three layers, a small, medium, and large. You can use any shape you want.

After decorating the layers, stack the middle layer on the largest layer in the center and pierce a hole where you want the brad. This will allow the bottom layer to swing out. If your layers have words, make sure the finished card design (when all three layers are ligned up) has all the words and layers going the right way before you add your brad.

Now, stack the top layer on the middle layer in the center with the bottom layer turned out so you don't pierce through the bottom layer, too!! Again, make sure everything will go the right way when the layers are all turned out!!
Mine has the largest layer on top when it's turned out because I wanted the birthday sentiment on the top when closed. You will have to play with it before you add the brads so you get it the way you want. Add another piece of cardstock to the back of the large layer to cover up the brad back and use it to write your greeting.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker Hawaiian Vine #SKU-537-12, Butterflies are Free set #SKU-538
RN Friend to Friend Sentiment ##SKU 565-21 and Happy Birthday Square #SKU 565-19
, Paper: Vanilla, Prima Botanical dp, Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Accessories: Nestabilities, Brads, Blue Perfect Pearls for the flower centers, Copics

Thanks for stopping by....hope you can join us for the TLC ...I would love to see your Stacked Card design!!!!

Flowers Everywhere!!

Good morning friends....hope you are having a fun and relaxing Saturday!!! I don't have to do much today but play in the craft room...Whoohoo!!!! I have a few DT projects to finish up and some new stamps to ink up...don't ya just love new toys!!!
We had rain about 40 miles away from us yesterday but it didn't reach us....at least someone got rain!!! We are really lucky that we still have water in both our large ponds and some grass for our horses, thanks to my daughter Holly!!! George has been staking the girls in Holly's 10 acre back yard for several hours a day to graze so the donkeys have our pasture all to themselves. Lots of ranchers don't have pasture or water and the live stock are really suffering...please help us pray for rain!!! Anyway...
I did a little paper piecing and coloring with copics on this adorable Rubbernecker stamp called Child with Bouquet #SKU_532-09 . The papers are from The Girls Paperie, the scallops were made with MFT's Die-namics scallop dies and sewing, ribbon, and stick pins finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker Child with Bouquet, Paper: Vanilla, Real Red, The Girls Paperie Kitch dp, Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Accessories: Nestabilities, Sewing Machine, Die-namics Scallop Dies, Lace, PTI Ribbon, Stick Pins, Copics

Thanks for visiting....hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! Tomorrow I have a real treat for you....a special Rubbernecker Blog Hop!!!

Halloween in August

Good morning everyone!!! It's Friday and the temps here in Central Texas are still in the hundreds....we broke a record yesterday for the longest stretch of 100+ degree weather. It has been above a hundred since June 30th....isn't it about time for fall??? Maybe I can hurry it along with a Halloween gift set....wishful thinking, I know...LOL!!!! We are under mandatory water rationing now so we can only water our yards two days a week and not between 10AM and 8PM. I placed plastic pans in all the sinks to catch the water from washing our hands, rinsing off dishes, washing vegetables, fruits, brushing teeth, etc. This is the water I use to water bushes and areas in the yard that are turning a little brown. It's shocking how much water we let go down the drain!! Anyway...
I had the fun pumpkin paper sitting on my counter and started cutting the images out...then I thought I better do something with them. I always give my Grands a Halloween card so why not get started a little early! Don't gasp but I didn't do any stamping on this set....hanging head in shame!!!!

The background paper is from Bo Bunny called Boo Crew Dot amd the pumpkins, bats, and cats are from patterned paper from Little Yellow Bicycle. Seam binding, buttons, twine, and stickers from Echo Park finish them off.

One set down and 9 to go....yikes!!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful day!!!

Yikes!! She Made a Scrapbook Page!!

Good morning everyone!! Don't be shocked now but I actually made a scrapbook page!!! My DGD Autumn loves to scrapbook and when she was here she created several pages. When she left, these pictures were still on the table so I decided to work them up into a page. This was my parents last Christmas in their Iowa home...they moved to Texas the next May. Also, this was my niece Erin's last Christmas. She passed away the next spring. Erin was such a sweet and precious girl....she had a heart transplant when she was only 19 days old and she lost her battle with heart disease a day before her 15th birthday.
I used Bo Bunny dp for the background and lots of diecut and punched snowflakes with pearl accents. Since purple was Erin's favorite color, I used a wrinkled purple ribbon and some lace to finish it off.

This is for the Ooh La La Creations Challenge to use a Christmas theme, Outlines Monday Challenge to use lace, Stamp-n-Doodle Challenge to use ribbon, diecut/punch, and pearls, and Totally Papercrafts Challenge to make a holiday design.

Thanks for dropping by...have a super fabulous day!!!

I'm Feelin Shabby Today!!

Good morning everyone....hope all is going well with you today!!! I worked yesterday so I didn't have time to be lonely...sure do miss having kids running around, giggling and laughing, however, I'm sure I will get used to the peace and quiet real soon...LOL!!! My A muse Contemporary Greetings stamps were still sitting on the table so I decided to make a shabby birthday design with distressing and sewing. I just love the colors in the Prima Melody dp and I added a Jellibean corrugated frame, a Kaisercraft wood butterfly, lace, seam binding, button, and twine.

Thanks for visiting...I'm off to get ready for a dentist appointment...not my favorite thing to do!!!

Flat, CAS, A muse Cards

Hello everyone!!! We are actually childless....we took the last of the Grands home yesterday after we went on a train ride. We caught the Austin Steam Train in Cedar Park , Texas, rode to Bertram, Texas and then back to Cedar Park. The kids really enjoyed the ride and it gave them a chance to see a little Texas country side while learning a little Texas railroad history. Yesterday we went to the Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown, Texas. It's a 5 mile long cave with some of the most magnificient rock formations I have ever seen. They discovered it in 1963 when they were building Interstate 35. They found 45 differnet prehistoric animal bones and fossils, also...we only walked about a mile of it which was enough for this old grandma!!! Anyway....I have been playing in my craft room all evening showing a little love to my A muse stamps!! I needed to make some flat cards for mailing...the first one features the Life is a Song set. The birdcages and birds were all stamped on the Prima Botanical dp and the middle one was popped up for a little dimension.
Recipe: Stamps: Amuse Life is a Song, Paper: White, Brown, Prima Botanicals dp, Ink: Going Gray, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Accessories: Sewing Machine

The tree stamp from Amuse's Avian Notes set was colored with Rose Red and Old Olive markers and stamped on the Prima Melody dp. The sentiment and musical notes from the same set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the punched butterflies and some sewing in the upper corner finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Amuse Avian Notes, Paper: White, Rich Razzleberry, Prima Melody dp, Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Accessories: Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Old Olive and Rose Red Markers

Thanks for dropping by...it's off to bed for me. I have to work tomorrow so I better get a little sleep. ....hope you have a great Monday!!! I will be visiting blogs tomorrow night...can't wait to see what you have made!!!
