My New Year's Resolution

Hello everyone!! We took my DGS Cole home this afternoon so this old Grandma is still up playing!!! It's 1:30 in the morning and I actually made a card for the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast!!
The challenge was to make a card that celebrates our resolution for 2011. After talking to a dear friend tonight I decided my resolution this year was going to be to stay better connected to my friends...I made this card for her. The sentiment and butterflies are from Rubbernecker and the beautiful dp is from My Minds Eye. The flower, wrinkled seam binding, and the twine finish it off.
Stamps: Rubbernecker sentiment and Rubbernecker Butterfly Inchies
Paper: Vanilla, Black, Blush Blossom, My Minds Eye Bella Bella dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Flower, Wrinkled Seam Binding, Brad, EK Success Scalloped Border Punch, Twine
Thanks for visiting ...I'm off to bed!! Have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve!!!

Let it Snow!!

Hello everyone.....hope you are all staying warm!! We have had rain the last few days which we really needed!!! My DGS Cole is staying with us this week and he isn't too excited about the rain. We got him a tent for Christmas and he really wanted to play in it but I'm afraid it leaked.....maybe it will dry out tomorrow!! Anyway....
I made this simple card for today's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. Since half the country is blanketed in snow, I decided to celebrate all that pretty white stuff (you can tell I live in the half without snow...LOL)!! The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Winter Wonderland set, the background layers were embossed with Cuttlebug folders, and I used a Martha Stewart punch for the snowflake. The button with twine and white Flower Soft finished it off .
Stamps: TE Winter Wonderfland
Paper: White, Hawaiian Shores from PTI
Ink: Vivid Aqua
Accessories: Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Button, Twine, Flower Soft

Have a wonderful day and be sure to add a little joy to your life today!!!

Flowers, Butterflies, and a Diva

Good morning everyone....hope you are staying warm and safe!!! It's been cool here and below freezing at night but that is nothing compared to all the snow up North...yikes!!!! I'm ready for spring already!! My DH took our DGS Cole for a few hours so I could work on a some cards and finish my upload....he is such a wonderful man!!!!
I made this bookmark yesterday for the TLC challenge on Splitcoast. I paper pieced some of the flowers from Rubbernecker's Wildflower set #465 and colored the leaves and the smaller flowers with copics. The butterflies were punched from some glittery paper from Doodlebug and a few pearls and bling finishes it off.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Wildflower Set #465
Paper: White, Black, Doodlebug Glittery paper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Pearls, Rhinestones, Copics, Nestabilities

I made this today for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday Challenge!! Da Mudder wanted the teapotters to have something to identify us by other than black and white polka dots (gotta save those for Mudder) so she hired some professionals to figure something out. After much adoo....they decided a red hat was the answer!!! I brought a red hat (Rubbernecker Fashion Icon set #455) with purple and red plumes (borrowed from a Christmas ornament) and lots of sparkle (the hat was painted with Twinkling H2O's and Stickles was used for the sparkle)!! The destination station is Joyce, mother of Jennifer (mother's daughter) who is battling cancer. Joyce is a red hat lady so I think she will like all the red hat cards!!

Stamps: Rubbernecker Fashion Icon set #455
Paper: Pure Luxury Lipstick red, Prism Clasic Purple
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Button, Ribbon, Twine, Stickles, Rhinestone, Feathers, Doily, Sewing Machine, Twinkling H2O's, Cuttlebug, Embossing Folder
I better get in the shower before my men get back...seems we have to put an airplane together! Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!!

Cards from Some Very Special Stampers!!

Good morning everyone....I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!! We have had such a busy week.....on Christmas Eve we had 27 family and friends over to celebrate and I fixed Christmas dinner for six of us on Christmas Day. Then we made our rounds to all our children's homes to see what the Grands got from Santa. We came home with our DGS Cole who celebrated his 7th birthday today. We took him to see the Yogi Bear movie and then to my parents for cake and ice cream. Whew....hope tomorrow brings a little peace and back to the usual routine!!! Hopefully, I can do a little stamping....Cole wants to stamp, too, so I'm sure the craft room will get a work out...LOL!!! Anyway...I wanted to share a few of the cards I received from my DD Holly and some special friends...I'll tell ya...I know some mighty talented girls!!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful Monday!!!

A Blank Canvas

Hello everyone...hope all is well with you and yours!!! We spent yesterday at the hospital with our DGD Autumn. She is undergoing some tests and may go home tonight...yeaaa!! The hospital has a wonderful Child Life program...they are keeping her busy with lots of craft projects, movies, and games. We couldn't go today so I am working off my nervous energy by wrecking havic in my craft room!! Anyway...
The Splitcoast Color Challenge colors today are red, white, and black...they are just perfect for a Valentine!! I even added the dessert option which is a heart...whoohoo!!! This is also for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge to create our own masterpiece from a blank canvas without using stamps. I don't think my flower drawing qualifies for a masterpiece but I was able to add a little color to a blank canvas. The flowers were colored with chalk and I wrote the sentiment for my DH. The sparkly heart and ribbon finish it off.
What great challenges today...I just had to make another card....I did cheat just a little by stamping the sentiment....please don't tell da Mudder!! This little Santa is going to Kris (krischir) who is da Mudder's destination Station might be a little late, Kris, but it's a comin!!! I drew the little Santa, added Flower Soft to the fur on the hat, and made his beard with buttons...I even got a couple of hearts on this...can you find them???
Stamps: Perfect Ending
Paper: Real Red, White, Black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Buttons, Flower soft, Round Punches, Ribbon, Black Pearls for the Eyes, Chalk for his Cheeks
Thanks for dropping by today especially during this busy Holiday week.....hope you have a wonderful day!!!

It's Another TLC Challenge!!

It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast this week and the challenge is sewing...real or faux. I have three types of sewing on this sample...faux sewing around the edges of the layered flower, real sewing around the background edges, and I used a leaf stamp that had the stitching already done for easy is that!!!!
The flower layers were stamped with PTI's Fresh Snow with Rubbernecker's Script stamp ( which, btw, you can't see but I promise it is there!!) and faux stitching was done around the edges. I didn't do any piercing because I wanted the faux stitching to match the leaves which had the stitching on the stamp. The leaf stamp from Studio 490's set called Ticket to Art was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, cutout, and attached with dimensionals.
The sentiment from PTI's Communique Curves Sentiments was stamped onto the Anna Griffin dp and sewing was done around the edges. The button with twine and Stickles on the flower edges finish it off.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Script bg, Studio 490 Ticket to art, PTI's Communique Curves Sentiments
Paper: Black, Pure Luxury Ivory, Anna Griffin dp
Ink: Baja Breeze, Memento Tuxedo Black, Fresh Snow
Accessories: Twine, Nestabilities Blossom Dies, Old Button, Sewing Machine, Stickles

I also just had to make one more Christmas card...the candle image from Rubbernecker was colored with Copics and glitter was added for a little glam. Sewing was done around the edges of the background and stickers were used for the sentiment.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Christmas Candle
Paper: White, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Glitter, Sewing Machine, Stickers, Ribbon

Thanks for visiting...please join us for the TLC challenge...I would love to see what you do with a little sewing on your cards!!!

No Christmas Cards Today!!!

Good morning...I have a friend who is expecting her first grandbaby so I made this for her daughter. They don't know the sex yet therefore I pulled out the yellow and green!! The paper is PTI's Bitty Baby Blessings and I used Moss Green cardstock from PTI for the trim at the top and the rick rack. Sewing was done in the background and I cut the felt piece out with a heart shaped Nestabilities. The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs Little Bits O Baby and the metal heart, ribbon, button, twine, button and ticket finish it off.
Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs O Baby
Paper: Pure Luxury White, Papertrey Ink's Moss Green, PTI's Bitty Baby Blessings dp
Accessories: Making Memories Metal Pendant Heart, PTI Harvest Gold Ribbon, Felt from MFT, Button, Twine, Sewing Machine, Melissa Frances Baby Ticket, Heart Shaped Nestabilities, Taylored Expressions Rick Rack die.
I made this card yesterday for the Ways to Use It challenge #301 on Splitcoast. The challenge was to use glitter...I love to use glitter even though it gets all over me and my stamp room!!!
I also made this for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge to go shopping for Boisterous Bree....poor thing needs a new wardrobe so she can audition for Glee!!
I used this weeks Color Challenge #301 colors, Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Concord Crush, and Rubbernecker's Fashion Icon 455 and 456 stamp sets, along with the Rubbernecker Victorian Diamond Panel background stamp. The images were watercolored, cutout, glittered up, and attached with dimensionals. The wrinkled seam binding, button, and ribbon finish it off. This weeks Destination Station is Abby...she is a 15 year old going through chemotherapy.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Fashion Icon sets #455 and 456, Rubbernecker's Victorian Diamond Panel

The Last of the Christmas Cards...Maybe

Today is my DD Holly's birthday....Happy Birthday my sweet little Holly Bear!!!

Ok, Ok...enough of the Christmas Cards!!!! I had a few of the K&Co stickers left so I just had to make another card...the paper is from October Afternoon's Good Cheer.
I made a card last year and goofed up on the inside so I put it in my fix it drawer. I got it out yesterday, cut off the back, cut down the front, punched the sides, added the ribbon and snowflake, and mounted it on a kraft cardbase....all ready to mail out!! I love to recycle...wonder what else is in that drawer...LOL!!!
Thanks for stopping by..have a great day!!!

A Few CAS Christmas Cards

Good morning everyone!! I hope you aren't sick of looking at Christmas cards because I still have a bunch to show you!!! As I was putting up my Christmas decorations I found all the cards we received last year...I can't seem to through anything away...LOL!! Anyway...some of them were sooo cute, including one that had this Santa. I cut him out and attached him to this fun little card...the snowflake stamps and sentiment are from Gina K. Designs The Magic of Christmas and I used Marina Mist and Real red ink and papers. The Baker's Twine finished it off.
I had some K&Co. Christmas stickers left over from last year so I attached them over a scrap of Basic Grey dp and added the gold cording and red ribbon....pretty simple and flat enough for mailing!!!

Here is another flat and CAS Christmas card...I used SEI's Winter Song dp and the sentiment from Flourishes Christmas Classics stamp set. The snow and snowflakes are all sparkly but you can't see it in the photo. The cardstock is Soft Sky and Basic Gray and the silver cording is the finishing touch.
Thanks for visiting...stay warm and happy stamping!!!

More Swap Cards

Good Monday morning!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to face the week ahead!! I have a list a mile long to get done today....hopefully, I can finish up my Christmas cards today and get my Sister's box ready to mail!! Anyway...I wanted to show you a few more cards from the shoebox swap I went to this weekend. Isn't this card was made with the Kitchen Sink Poinsettia stamp....I love the olive doily and gorgeous dp, too!!!! The card was a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" so when I got home I cut it down to fit into an A2 envie. I messed up on this was supposed to have 5 ornaments stamped but I started the first one too far away from the border so I could only fit 4 on the cardstock piece. Oh well, I'm sure no one will notice!!! I cut this card down, was 6" long and I didn't have an envie to fit so I tweeked it just a little!!

I added the white scalloped layer, ribbon, and sentiment when I got home because I smudged the black ink...I just love this craft!! We can always figure out a way to fix our little mistakes!!!

This was my DD Holly's design...simply elegant...I didn't change a thing!!!

Love the colors on this one...sooo pretty!!!
Thanks for stopping by today...hope your day is wonderful!!!

Christmas Shoebox Swap Cards

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great weekend!!! I went to Salado, Texas Friday evening for the Christmas Stroll. Salado is a wonderful little village full of shops, antiques, and the best little stamp shop north of Austin!! Since I babysat for my two youngest DGSs (my little wild men) during the day...getting away to shop with my good friend was sooo wonderful!! Then my DD Holly and I went to the North Austin Christmas Shoebox Swap all day yesterday....whoohoo!!! We had so much fun and made some fabulous cards, too!!! Here are few of the swap cards we made......
This adorable Santa was so fun and easy to stamping...just punched pieces along with the top note cutouts. When I got home, I added the Flower Soft to his hat pom pom and used a Gelly Roll Clear glitter pen around the hat border. The original design was a tag but I mounted him on a mat and cardbase...he will be mailed to someone special on Monday!! This was one of my favorites...we stamped the leaves, cut them out, and attached them to a
1 3/4" cardstock circle. The cardbase and mat are gold metallic cardstock.

Isn't this little cardinal adorable...we made him from the Stampin Up! bird punch. Jennifer, one of the stampers at the swap, took a picture of the instruction sheet for the cardinal. She is going to send it to me so if you want a copy, just let me know!!

This is such a fun round card....when I got home, I took the bulky ribbon off and added the baker's will be easier and cheaper to mail!!

This was the first card I made at the swap and wouldn't ya know...I messed up on it!!! We were supposed to use the long piece of torn fabric for the bow with a brad but mine looked pretty bad so when I got home, I added the ribbon in the background, made a bow with the fabric, and tied it with some twine. Now it will mail easily without extra postage!!
Thanks for visiting...have a great Sunday!!!

Glitter is Glam!!!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!!! First...drum roll please.....I finished my Christmas decorating!!! Whoohoo!!! The tree is up and all the nooks and crannys are glammed up with Santas, Snowmen, Angels, and lots of sparkle!!! Speaking of sparkle....check out the latest challenge on the Moxie Fab World's all about Glitter is Glam!! We are to use glitter in innovative ways. I should enter my face and clothes cause I look mighty sparkly after working with glitter all evening...LOL!!!
On my first card I used scalloped sticker strips....added them to the dp, removed the paper, and added the glitter. The snowflake sticker is from the Tinsel and Twig collection by The Girls Paperie and the sentiment is from the Gingerbread Man set by Imaginisce Snag'em Stamps.
Stamps: Gingerbread Man by Snag'em stamps
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Grey
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Scalloped Sticky Strips, Snowflake sticker, Bakers Twine, Round Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Glitter

I used a Martha Stewart sticky wreath from her Glittered Botanical Card Kit and the dark green glitter from the same kit. My DD gave me the kit a year or so ago to use when the Grands come over and want to play in Grandma's craft room...silly girl!!! I usually hide the glitter from the little darlings...LOL!!! The tricky part was trying to get all the excess glitter off the card!! Rhinestones and the sentiment from Waltzingmouse's Complements of the Season stamp set finish it off.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse
Paper: Real Red, White, Prism Classic Green
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Martha Stewart Botanical Card Kit, Rhinestones
I used the Martha Stewart Botanical Card Kit on this card, too, and stickers from Tinsel and Twigs sticker book were used for the sentiment......pretty simple but I love the sparkle!!

Thanks for dropping by....I hope you have a great start to your weekend!!!
