Color Throwdown Challenge #261

Hello everyone....it's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Vickie is our hostess with the mostess this week and she has picked some beautiful colors for us to play with!!!

My card features a stamp by Impress...the moon and snow were masked and them Marine Mist and Pacific Point were brayered on the sky. The moon was colored in with a Copic and Marina Mist was lightly sponged on the snow. The scene was layered on Marina Mist and kiwi Kiss cardstocl and a circle stencil was used the add a little color to the background with Marina Mist and Kiwi Kiss. The sentiment is from the Elements of style set by stampin Up! The ribbon and twine finish it off.

I wanted the sky to look peaceful but I'm afraid it looks a little eery....I should have added a bat and made it a Halloween card...LOL!!!

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors...use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD261 to the keywords section when you upload your card to an on-line gallery so we can find your work!!!

Taylored Expressions September Studio Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to Taylored Expressions September Studio Challenge!!

This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we have a fun, crafty question or theme so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for September is:
We’re continuing our month-long TE Birthday Bash celebration with a special birthday-inspired Studio Challenge! Sometimes all we need to help us create is to simply see something that is beautiful, cool, or unique. Did you know that Taylored Expressions has over 30 boards on Pinterest filled with crafty eye-candy? We’d love to have you follow us athttp://pinterest.com/tayloredexpress
Today’s challenge: choose a photo from Taylor’s Birthday Inspiration Pinterest Board to inspire a stamped creation!

I chose these adorable monster cookies...aren't they just the cutest!!!! My inspiration came from the colors and the adorable little monsters...don't you just love the big silly eyes!!!

My card features the little monsters from the Taylored Expressions Candy Monster set. The monsters were paper pieced with papers from Basic Grey's Green at Heart 6x6 paper pad. Copics were used to add a little shading and the googly eyes were adhered with glue. The Chevron Border dies were used to cut out the chevrons from the Green at Heart papers and the sentiment bubbles were cut with the Say What? Conversation Bubbles . They were stamped on Choice Snow White card stock with a sentiment from the Candy Monster set and a sentiment and bubble liner from the Say What? stamp set.  The sewing, distressing, and Baker's Twine finish it off.

You are all invited to play along for a chance to win prizes and there will be several different ways to play along including simply having some fun on Pinterest or the option to play along and create a stamped project. Check out all the deets on the Taylored Expressions Blog!!

Four winners will be chosen at random from all contest entries to win a copy of the 2013 Taylored Expressions Catalog & Idea Book (a $9.95 value).  One Grand Prize winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries to receive a copy of the 2013 TE Catalog & Idea Book AND a TE Stamp set of winner's choice...Whoohoo!!!!!!

How exciting is that!!!! You are going to love the TE Catalog and Idea Book...I have one and it's a fabulous resource for a lot of the TE stamps and lots of inspiration from the Baker's Dozen DT!!! If you are like me,  you will love to have a reference and idea book in your hot little hands so you can pick it up anytime you want...it sure beats squinting into a computer screen to find a little inspiration!!!

I think we are going to Olive Garden tonight...I loooove their salad and bread sticks....yummm!!! Anyway....

I made a card for today with the Taylored Expressions Stamp of the Month set called Sending Smiles. The SOTM is a monthly subscription that has three options. You can read all about it in the Kit's section of the Taylored Expressions store.

The flowers were stamped with crisp cantaloupe, tangerine tango,  and really rust, cutout with the coordinating dies called This Way To Smiles, and popped up with foam tape. The leaves were watercolored with pistacio pudding and coastal cabana, cutout with the coordinating dies and adhered with foam dots. The sentiment was stamped on the sahara  sand card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the background Fancy Pants Park Bench patterned paper.  The pearl flourish, pearl flower centers, and sewing finished it off.

Happy Halloween

Hello everyone.....I was getting ready for bed when I thought I would take a minute to check out the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast....welllll....I just had to go to the craft room and make a card!!! I bought some new Reverse Confetti Stamps and I knew I couldn't sleep unless I made a card for Jeanne's challenge...LOL!!!!  Her challenge is to make a CAS card using any color but white or ivory for the card base.

The fence, cat, and bats were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto the Pumpkin Pie card stock.  Tiny pearls were added to the cat's eyes and the twine and diecut clouds finish it off. Pretty simple but this will be perfect for one of my Grands!!

Now, I'm off to bed....I hope you have a wonderful Friday!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #260

Hello everyone...welcome to this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Tammy gave us a bright, happy color palette to work with...don't you just love the beautiful fall colors!! Maybe this will usher in some cooler weather...LOL!!!

My card features the Silhouette Stem 1 die from Taylored Expressions. It was used on four different colors of card stock: Pistachio Pudding, Tangerine tango, Baked Brown Sugar, and Prism Frosted Azalea. The Pistachio Pudding diecut was adhered over the Baked Brown Sugar one leaving just a hint of the brown showing like a shadow. The flowers were cut from the Tangerine Tango and the Frosted Azalea and they were adhered on top. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Zinnia Bouquet set and was stamped with Baked Brown Sugar ink onto the Choice Snow White cardstock and then it was cutout with a Spellbinderers die. The tiny butterflies were punched from the same papers and the washi tape and twine finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD260 to the keywords section when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!!

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Campaign: Inspiration Challenge Week

Hello everyone and welcome to Day Two of the Taylored Expressions new Share Joy Campaign, benefiting the Union Rescue Mission of Los Angeles, Prodigal's Home of Phoenix, and Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter of Des Moines. These wonderful charities work tirelessly to bring comfort and care to many homeless individuals and families throughout the year. One way they are sharing joy each and every day is by celebrating the birthdays of their participants, and you can help by sending in your handmade birthday cards!

This week, Taylored Expressions will help you to create with a different Birthday Inspiration Challenge each day. These charities need birthday cards of all kinds: child, adult, baby, so send in your funny, sweet, pretty, elegant, works of art and know that you will be brightening someone's day in a way only a handmade card can do.  To get all the details on how to participate, please hop over to the Taylored Expressions Blog.

Today's Challenge: Washi tape is a fun and easy way to add pizzazz to any project! With
such an amazing array of patterns, colors, and sizes to choose from, washi tape is great
for backgrounds, accents, and more. Create a birthday card using washi tape.

My card features several different Doodlebug Washi Tapes...they were placed on the Choice Snow White card stock at an angle and the ends were folded around to the back. The sweet little bird stamps from Taylored Expressions Delightful Day were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up with foam tape. The sentiment bubble and sentiment are from the same set and they, too, were popped up with foam tape. The branch from the Owl-o-ween set was colored with Copics, cut out with the coordinating die, and adhered to the background. The Doodlebug Sprinkles are the finishing touch.

Be sure to check out all the design team members and alumni who have samples to share for today's inspiration.....you can get the full link list on the Taylored Expressions Blog.
