Waltzingmouse Sketch, Color Throw Down, and a Tea Party!!!

Hello everyone!!! I finally had a little time to stamp this evening while I watched Project that show!!! Anyway...I made this for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #16 (BTW, I was one of the Top Mouse Award winners last week...Whoohoo!!!) and I used the pretty colors from this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #112: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, and Pumpkin Pie. The flowers were stamped with Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Hugs set and papers from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush papers. The button, twine, and the Candy Dots finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog - Fancy Florals
2. Stamp Simple #159 - think in 3's
3. Sisterhood of Crafters - use 3 flowers on your card
4. Caardvarks - clean and simple
5. Creative Card Crew Challenge - flowers
6. Craft Your Passion Challenge - clean and simple
7. Paper Cupcakes - fall inspiration

This is the card I made on Tuesday for this weeks Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, and Rose Red. My dessert option was blue. I had a hard time with the yellow, though...the flower centers in the background paper were punched from a scrap of yellow cardstock and glued to centers...not a whole lot of yellow but at least it's there!!! This is also for da Mudders Teapot Tuesday challenge to help Summer win the Tutu by bringing stash that's worth all of the cash! We were to gussy up our cards with lots of stuff...ribbon, bling, flowers...ya know, all the things we love to hoard!!! I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #158 for the layout...stamped the adorable little teapot from PTI's Tea for Two set with Ballet Blue Craft ink and embossed with clear ep. The little metal flowers with the blingy centers are from Making Memories and the ribbon and pearls finish it off.
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two
Paper: White, Basic Grey, Summer Sun, Stampin Up dp

Splitcoast's TLC Challenge - Stamping on Tissue Paper

Hello everyone!! I am the hostess this week for Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge (TLC292) we are going to stamp on tissue really adds a lot of texture to your artwork!! I bet you have some of that crumpled up tissue paper in the bottom of an old gift bag....go dig it out and lets have a little fun!!!
The first step is to spray it with water...I mixed a little Perfect Pearls powder in the water so mine would have a little shimmer. You could also mix a little Pearl Ex in the water or spritz with Glimmer mist...what ever flips you skirt!!
Dry the tissue paper with a heat tool...

I colored the Rubbernecker Wildflower stamp with Old Olive and Ruby Red markers...

and stamped on the dried tissue paper...the image was stamped off three times.

When the ink was dry I cut it out with a round Nestabilies.....

A background layer the same size as the tissue paper image was cutout so the tissue paper layer will show up....the light colored tissue paper looks best with a light background layer.

Use a glue stick to adhere the tissue paper layer to the background layer.....

Now it's ready......

Stamps: Rubbernecker Wildflower
Paper: White, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey's June Bug and Offbeat
Ink: Ruby Red and Old Olive Markers
Accessories: Wrinkled Seam Binding, Button, Twine, Nestabilities, Spellbinders Scalloped Die, Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug Folder, Tissue Paper

Now we will use a piece of brown tissue paper.....spray it...

dry it.....

stamp it with white ink.....

how cool is that!!!
Paper: Vanilla, Stampin Up dp
Ink: PTI's Perfect Match Fresh Snow, Memento Rich Cocoa for the stamped weeds images on the background vanilla layer
Accessories: Ivory Silk Ribbon, ZVA Pearl Flourish, Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

I love this technique so much that I just had to make another card using pink tissue paper!!! Memento Rich Cocoa was used with the Rubbernecker Wildflower image.

Stamps: Rubbernecker Weeds and Sentiment from Rubbernecker's Party Time set
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Webster's Pages Brown Bloomer, Stampin Up! Leaf Die, TH Brick Embossing Folder, Nestabilities

I hope you found a little inspiration here go dig out the tissue paper and stamp away!!!

Headstart on Christmas!!

The Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast yesterday was to make a holiday card or project. I needed to get started on my Christmas projects for my church craft sale in Nov...... I usually make around 10 sets of Christmas cards, candy boxes, and lots of tags. Most of the cards need to be flat for mailing but I just couldn't help myself with the layered snowflake!!! All the stamps were from Rubbernecker.
The snowflake was embossed with red ep and layered with the ribbon and button. The sentiment was stamped with Old Olive and the dp is from Stampin Up.

The tag, which was also for Holly's TLC challenge on Splitcoast, used the Christmas Tree image from RN's Snowflakes and Stardust set and the top was cut with Nestabilities Labels 11.

A Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the white layer and red Liquid Pearls was used for a little flat glam. One red rhinestone was placed center below the sentiment. the sertiment was stamped with Poppy Parade and embossed with clear ep.....pretty simple but perfect for mailing!!
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: White, Vanilla, Old Olive, Real Red, SU dp
Ink: Poppy Parade, Real Red, Old Olive, Versamark
Accessories: Red ep, Clear ep, Fiber, Cuttlebut Folder, Liquid Pearls, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Button, Floss
These are also for a few other challenges:
2. I Did It Creations Challenge - keep it simple
3. Crafty Pad Challenge - embossing (heat or dry) I used both
4. AI Factory - anything goes
5. Stamp Insanity - embossing
6. Ooh La La Creations - use a sentiment as the main image

Christmas Bird and da Mudder's Kitties

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great day!!! My cousin Larry and his wife Shirley are here visiting this week from Iowa. One of our donkeys was born on Larry's birthday so we named him Little Larry. Every time they come to visit Larry has to check up on his little God son...make sure we are treating him right. Actually, Little Larry is the prettiest of all the donkeys but I'm not going to admit that to my cousin....his head is big enough as it is...LOL!!! Anyway....I wanted to share a Christmas card I made for the sketch challenge over on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Blog. The bird image from Sewing Box Hugs was stamped on Memory Box Mistletoe dp, cutout, and popped up with dimensionals. The edges of the background were sewn and distressed and the banner sentiment (from the Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy set) , wrinkled seam binding, button, and twine finish it off.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse
Papers: White, Riding Hood Red, Memory Box Mistletoe dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Button, Twine, Wrinkled Seam Binding, Sewing Machine, Dimensionals

I made this card yesterday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, and Wild Wasabi. I also used the sketch from Card Pattern's Challenge #82. The challenge colors and sketch were both perfect for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast. It seems two kitties named Nibbles and Fritz are being moved from Texas to California....much to their displeasure. I'm hoping this fine looking RV will make their trip a little more comfortable. The Unity trees were paper pieced and the Bella Blvd. camper and MFT's kitties from Congrats All Around were colored with copics. The destination for our cards this week is the sweet Bertie (Bertlady) who moved to California and needs some welcome to the neighborhood cards!! We will be having out teaparty at her new house on top of all the boxes...Whoohoo!!!

Halloween is just Around the Corner!!!

Hello everyone and happy Monday!!! I made these Halloween cards yesterday before my DH returned from his fishing trip. George and his fishing partner actually won a little money...Whoohoo!! Enough to pay for all the fishing stuff they bought to get ready for the tournament...LOL!!! Anyway....I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges C4C55 to create this fun little Halloween card. The adorable Rubbernecker Halloween Stamp called Dragon Boy was colored with copics and the papers are from Memory Box's Spooky dp. Candy dots, ribbon, and the scalloped border finish it off.
Susan (Rainy) challenged us with a sketch challenge on her blog. I just had to make another Halloween card since I send them to all my Grandchildren. The adorable Lockhart stamp was colored with copics and the papers are from Stampin Up! and My Minds Eye. Sewing was done around the background edges and the bats are felt stickers. Pearls and ribbon are the finishing details.

The last Halloween card features this weeks sketch from the Our Craft Lounge Blog. The super cute image from OCL's Ghostly Greetings set was colored with copics and the little pumpkin from the same set was popped up on the ribbon. Other details include the papers from Memory Box's Spooky collection, pearls, scalloped border (EK Success punch), ribbon, and a punched bat (Martha Stewart Punch).

Don't be shocked but I actually decorated the inside a little!! I usually don't do that till I send the card out so now it's already to go!!
Thanks for visiting today....have a wonderful start to your week!!!
