TLC571 - Naked Stamping

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host this week's Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have a fun one for you (I think I say that every time but it really is easy!!)...we are going to do some Naked Stamping...no coloring...we will let the background showcase the color!! Here are the deets:

1. Pick out some line stamps that are open enough to let the background show through.
2. Create a colorful background using watercolors, reinkers, sponging, Twinkling H2O's, stenciling...what ever medium you feel most comfortable with.
3. Stamp your line stamps with a darker color so we can see the stamped image and the background you created will show through.
4. Remember, no coloring on the image because we want the background to show.

My card features a watercolored background...I used Pool Party and Pink Passion reinkers (SU) on watercolor paper. The watercolor paper was taped to my craft sheet on all 4 sides and after the watercolor was dried the tape was removed to reveal a white frame around the background.  Verve's Hearts on Fire stamps were stamped on the watercolored background with Black Archival ink from SU. The twine is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can join us for this week's TLC challenge!!!

Happy Birthday From All of Us!!

Hello everyone!! I have two Grandson's with birthdays in Feb. so I thought I better get busy with some *guy* cards. Masculine cards are really hard for me to create...I always want to add flowers and bows...LOL!!!

For this card, I used the super cute fox stamp from the Taylored Expressions Forest Friends Stamp and Die Combo. The darker reddish ones were colored with Copics and the lighter ones were watercolored with Clean Color Real Brush watercolor pens

The Birch Tree Border die was used to cut the trees out of Chocolate Truffle cardstock and the Peek - a Boo Squares were cutout of Toffee and popped up over the trees with foam tape. All the little foxes were popped up in the windows. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped on the Salt Water Taffy cardbase. I held myself back from adding any bling...it was hard but I did it...LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #377

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Today is also my parents 71st wedding anniversary!!! Can you believe that??? They are both in their 90's and still living in their own home...my sister and her family are flying in tonight from Iowa and Chicago to help us celebrate. Also, my grandson, Cody, is having surgery today. Needless to say, today is going to be a wild ride!! Hopefully, Cody will be able to go home in the afternoon...he turns 13 in a couple of weeks so he's hoping everything will be healed in time for his big teen birthday party!!

Anyway...this is Lisa's first challenge and she has picked such an awesome color combo: kraft, gray, and yellow!! I never would have thought to put those colors together but after working with them, I will be using them again!!!

I put my card together with a few wood cuts from Simple Stories' We Are Family collection. They were adhered to the background barn board designer paper and the frame was cut with a scalloped frame die from Pretty Pink Posh. The banner was hand cut and a little sewing was done along the edge. The flowers were die cut with Reverse Confetti dies and enamel dots from Doodlebug and a wood dot from We Are Memory Keepers finish it off.

Remember, be sure to add CTD377 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!! Also, please use #377 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites.

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Valentine's Day

Hello everyone!! I'm still playing around with my extra diecuts from other Taylored Expressions projects...I just love creating something from left over goodies!! The background paper called Hello Sunshine from Pink Paislee was cutout with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die. The frame was created with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate, and the banner was cut out of Lollipop cardstock with the Skinny Mini Valentine Borders. The Love sentiment diecut was also cut out of Lollipop cardstock with one of the Pockets & Pages February Script dies.

The heart was cut with the Peek- a- Boo Hearts die, the Scribble Flowers dies were used for the flowers...they were cut out of Lollipop and Strawberry Milkshake cardstock....and the  leaves were cutout of Granny Smith cardstock with the Bloomers Greenery dies.

This is one Valentine down and about twenty to go...LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Light Up My Life

Hello everyone!!! I hope all of you in the path of the big storm are safe and hunkered down with lots of food, water, warm clothes, and an alternate form of heat just in case the power goes out!! I can't imagine expecting 12 - 24 inches of snow...yikes!!! Take care and know we are all thinking about you!! Anyway...

I have been playing around with white embossing on colored cardstock and this is what I came up with.

The lamps from the Taylored Expressions Light Up My Life Stamp and Die Combo were all stamped on Sprinkles cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. They were then cutout with the coordinating dies and popped up with foam tape on the Sprinkles background that was embossed with the Swiss Hearts Embossing Folder

The Scallop Border Die was used to cut the scallop out of Salt Water Taffy cardstock. The Layering Doily - Medium die was used to cutout the heart scallop which was adhered under the scallop. The sentiment which was also embossed with white ep is from the same set and the silver twine finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!
