This can include buttons, sewing, sewing stamps, notions, pins......what ever your little heart desires!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

I used the sketch from the Walzingmouse Sketch Challenge and a Waltzingmouse stamp set called Sewing Box - Hugs. The sentiment is from the same set and the buttons, twine, and candy dots finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:

1. Random Amusing Challenge - use something you have been horarding/saving (my paper)

Splitcoast's TLC Challenge

Hello everyone!! It's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and thanks to my sweet friend, Denise (peanutbee), we have a great one!! I saw this GORGEOUS card on her blog and just knew we had to do this technique for the TLC!! I am going to call it *Follow the Edge*. All you have to do is trim the front side of the card along the edge of your image so you can see the inside. I free hand cut my layers but you can trace the background layers from the first one you cut. The scallops I added on the inside show when the card is closed.....too cool!! I bought the adorable Morehead stamp set called Joy for You from Jerri Kay's Store called Touch of Grace. It was colored with copics and paper pieced with papers from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey and American Crafts dp. The balloon sticker with the 4 is from American Crafts...this is for my DGD, Caitlyn, for her 4th birthday. The sentiment was stamped on the Lime Rickey paper with PTI's Birthday Basics set. I had to hand write some of the letters to create Caitlyn's name. The balloons and the banner are from the same set and and the scallops finish it off. Recipe: Stamps: Morhead Stamp set called Joy for You Paper: White, Lime Rickey dp, American Crafts dp Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Twine, EK Success Scallop Border Punch, American Crafts Sticker, Copics

Thanks for visiting....have a wonderful craft filled day!!!

The sentiment from the Sweet Spring set, buttons, and twine finish it off.

Grungy Newspaper Creation

Good morning everyone!! Hope all is well in your world....I have to go to work today so this will be short and sweet!! I made this card yesterday for the TLC317 challenge on Splitcoast to use newspaper on a card or project. Since I don't take the paper, I went to my parents to raid their paper stash.
The leaf stamp from Studio 490's Ticket to Art set was stamped on newspaper with Old Olive and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Several round scalloped pieces were punched from the newspaper, sponged with Vintage Photo, crumpled up, and layered together with a brad to form the flower. The sentiment was cutout of the newspaper and the bird is a wood piece from KaiserCraft. The birdcage stamp is called Sweet ZZZ's from Unity...it was paper pieced with 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market dp and sewing around the background paper finishes it off.

I really like the look of the newsprint and think next time I will stamp silhouettes on newsprint...I just have to find something in the newspaper except articles about war, death, or crimes!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Unity, Studio 490
Paper: Old Olive, Kraft, 7 Gypsies dp, Newspaper
Ink: Old Olive, Vintage Photo
Accessories: Brad, Wood Bird, Sewing Machine

Thanks for stopping by....hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

Owls and Birds

Good morning everyone...hope you had a wonderful weekend!!! I worked in the yard on Saturday and cleaned up my house after a week of grandkids on spring break...we sure did have fun!! After church yesterday I went to my son David's to cut my youngest DGS's hair. At 16 months old, he looked like a wild man with all his curls!! His mom and dad couldn't take it any longer so grandma came to the rescue!! In my other life before going to nursing school, I was a hairdresser and used to cut my children's hair before they decided that wasn't cool...LOL!! Anyway....I worked all Sunday afternoon on this card. I don't know why I couldn't get it all together.... I knew what I wanted to do, just couldn't get there...YKWIM?? I tried several different color combos, lots of papers, colors, and embellies. Finally, after leaving it alone for about an hour, it all came together!!
The sweet image is called Time and Season by Unity...it was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on the Bella Blvd cloud dp. It was then stamped on white cardstock, colored with copics, cutout, and adhered over the dp stamped image. I noticed I forgot to color the leaves but I'm not going to fix it now......just pretend I ment to do that...LOL!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Unity
Paper: White, Chocolate Chip, October Afternoon's Fly a Kite and Cherry Hilldp, Bella Blvd dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Die-namics scallop die, Twill, Button, Twine, Large Oval scallop Nestabilities, Copics

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #109 and a few other challenges:
2. Let's Ink it Up - punches/die cuts
3. Totally Gorjuss - buttons
Thanks for stopping by....have a great Monday!!!

First Rose of Spring

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! My DH went fishing before 5:00 AM this morning and we took all four of the Grands back home last night so I am on my own today!!! I will work in the back flower beds first thing before the sun is high in the sky and then to the craft room...life is good!!
I made this card yesterday (before the Grands got up) for the Free 4 All Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge was to make something that reminded us of gardens and Springtime.
I went to Lowes a couple of days ago and they had some of the prettiest roses...got me in the mood to color this Rubbernecker rose. The image was embossed with gold ep and water colored with Tombow Markers. The background paper is called Annalee from Prima and the rhinestones and ribbon with the button finished it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Rose #529-02
Paper: Watercolor paper, White, Annalee dp from Prima
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Tombow Markers, Rhinestones, Ribbon, Button, Baker's Twine, Lace, Egyptian Gold EP by JudiKins

Spring Break Fun!!

Hello everyone!! I have had some of my Grandkiddos here this week for spring break and boy, have we been busy!!! Shopping, lunches, movies, playing games, working in the yard, flying kites, visiting family...whew!! I did have a little time this afternoon to stamp while the girls played on the laptop and Cole played with his cars.
This card is for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and I used the Color Throwdown colors this week; Wild Wasabi, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Early Expresso.
The tree trunk, leaves, and sentiment from Waltzingmouse's Asian Garden set were stamped with Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip, cut out, and attached with foam dots. Brown twine was wrapped around the the trunk and lavender pearls were added to the leaves and butterflies. A Stampin Up! scalloped border punch was used to create the scallops around the edge.
This is kind of a stretch for me but I love to try new things....what new things did you try this week???
Gotta go fix popcorn for tonight's movie...they want to watch Harry Potter...oh boy!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a great St. Patty's Day!!!!!!

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to use anything that starts with a C on your project!! This can include chipboard, critters, coffee images, coral, candy, Christmas stuff, cats......what ever your little heart desires!!! I created a cityscape and used the celebrate sentiment rub-on!! Ooh La La Creations - it's a man thing
I Did It Challenge - masking
Paper Sundae's Challenge - keep it simple
Pile it On - use green and orange
One Stop Craft Challenge - clean and simple

My card today is a masculine design...the background was created by first, masking off half of the image and brayering Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door Distress inks on the sky. Then the masking was reversed to mask off the sky and Broken China and Pine Needles were brayered on the opposit end to create the water. Rubbernecker's Skyline stamp was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black at the horizon line and the black twine, button, and rub-on sentiment finish it off.

Be sure to stop by the other Belli Girls blogs to see what they made for you today....you will find lots of awesome inspiration!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast , PCP, Stamp TV or another online gallery be sure to add CBC113 in the keywords section.

Splitcoast's TLC Challenge

Hello everyone....it's my turn to be the hostess for Splitcoast's TLC challenge this week and my challenge is to make a trellis!

1. Cut out an opening in a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock with a die (Labels 11 used here and it was run through the Cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder).
2. Cut 12 - 1/8" x 5" strips
3. Line the backside of the opening with double sided tape and attach six of the strips on a diagonal from left to right (I layed it on my score pal and used the lines as a guide).
4. Attach the remaining six strips from right to left, weaving the strips over and under the first set.
5. Trim excess and attach backing (Graphic 45's Loves Labyrith pattern paper used here)
6. Optional: Create a frame for the front. I used the largest Labels 11 die and the next largest size, taped them on white cardstock so they wouldn't move one inside the other, and ran them through the Cuttlebug.

The Sentiment from Verve's Blessings set, Primas, gold cording, and the leaves stamped from Studio 490's Ticket to Art set (my most favorite leaf stamp!!) finish it off.

You can make your trellis anyway you want....you don't have to use the Nestabilities....just score a trellis or use a trellis punch...use what ever you have as long as you have fun!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Verve Blessings, Studio 490 Ticket to Art
Paper: White, Blush Blossom, Basic Grey's Curio for the leaves, Graphic 45 Loves Labyrinth
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Blush Blossom
Accessories: Primas, Gold Cording, Nestabilities Labels 11

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!

Happily Ever After

Hello everyone....first I want to say that my heart goes out to the people of Japan and all the those who have been effected by the earthquake and Tsunami that occured today...what a tragedy!!! My BFF's son and his family love outside Tokyo...I'm praying for their safety!!!

You won't believe I actually got up early this morning and went to help my Dad rake leaves and clean out his flower bed. I am all invirgorated, now, since I got a dose of the fresh morning air...hope my body doesn't go into shock...LOL!!!! Anyway...I'm back home safe in my craft room getting inky. I made a card for the Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog...aren't the colors pretty!!!...and today's Free 4 All Challenge on Splitcoast to decorate the edges of our cards.
I made a wedding card for a friend's DD...sewing was done around the edges of the patterned paper and then Diamond Stickles was added for a little sparkle. The felt flowers were made with MFT's rolled flower Die-namics and the ribbon, orange flower centers, doily, and sticker sentiment finish it off. This also qualifies for yesterday's Ways to Use Challenge on Splitcoast to use felt.
Recipe:
Paper: Prima dp called Annalee, White Accessories: Sentiment Chipboard Sticker from Cosmo Cricket's Ever After, Pebbles Candy Dots and Orange Flower Jewel, Felt from MFT, Doily, Sewing Machine, Diamond Stickles, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch

Masculine Birthday

Good morning everyone...I have a few minutes before I go to work so I thought I would share a masculine card I made. I have a big problem designing guy cards....why is that anyway??? Maybe it's because I can't use lace, ribbons, bling, pink....LOL!!! For this card I used some awesome paper called Torn by Crate Paper....after cutting the strips, I staggered them on the vanilla cardstock to create a fun bargello pattern. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics, and the cork button and twine finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by today...I will be visiting all my blog friends tonight!!!
