Color Throwdown Challenge #356

Hello everyone!! I hope you have had a wonderful week with lots of stamping time!!! It's been too hot around here to do much of anything....I'm sure ready for fall!! My granddaughter, Mackenzie, is here for a few days so I guess we will be spending lots of time in the air conditioned mall...it's a girl thing...LOL!!! Anyway...

It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!! Broni is our hostess and she has picked some bold and beautiful colors for us to play with!!! 

My card features the WPlus9 Folk Art Floral Dies...the birds and birdhouse were cut out of pumpkin pie and dusty durango cardstock and the leaves were cut out of wild wasabi and gumball green. They were adhered to the tag that was cut with a MFT die. The sentiment is from the WPlus9 Very Vintage Florals stamp set and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. 

The background paper is from Doodlebug's Kraft in Color 6x6 paper pad and We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard 6x6 paper pad. The black pearls for the eyes and the button and twine finish it off.

Color Throwdown Challenge #352

Hello everyone!!! OMG...the time has just flown by this week!! It seems like all I have to do is blink and 2 days fly by...what's up with that?? The Grands have been in and out all summer...I never know from day to day how many to cook for or what sheets to wash but I am lovin every minute!!! Mackenzie and Caitlyn will be here today at lunch time and then Autumn will arrive later in the afternoon with the boyfriend to stay for a couple of days. I think we will talk Grandpa and David into a little BBQ tonight. I love it when the men cook...they tend to keep the mess outside...LOL!!!!!! Anyway...

It's Wednesday again and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Tammy is our hostess and what fun colors she picked: mint green, lime green, light gray and dark gray!!! I never would have reached for this combo but now I will be using it often....I Loooove it!!! Thanks, Tammy!!!

My card features one of my favorite WPlus9 sets called Fanciful Feathers. The feathers were stamped with Smoky Slate, Kiwi Kiss, and Mint Melody (retired SU). The sentiments from the same set were stamped with Basic Gray and a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock was used as the mat. The sketch is the #2 Get Sketchy challenge on the WPlus9 Design blog. 

I loved the colors so much that I made another card...same stamps and colors but a different design.

Color Throwdown Challenge #333

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!! Monika is the hostess and the colors she picked are lavender, lt. gray, green, and white..... perfect colors for a springy flower design!!!

I didn't have any plumy colored lavender so I went with Almost Amethyst...the flowers from the WPlus9 set called Coming Up Roses were stamped with Almost Amethyst and the leaves from the same set were stamped with Pear Pizzazz. The diecut sentiment is also from WPlus9 and it was cut out of Going Gray...the cording and rhinestones finish it off.

Color Throwdown Challenge #326

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday again and you know what that means...it's time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Vickie is our hostess and don't you just love the pretty springy colors she picked!!!! I think we all are wishing for an early spring...the only bad thing about spring around here is the Ceder. The trees spew out their pollen and that makes us all sneeze, cough and sputter!!! Thank goodness for antihistamines...LOL!!! Anyway....

This weeks colors are bright pink, light pink, blue, and green. 

I went with the softer side of the colors...the sweet little birds from the WPlus9 Love Birds set were stamped with Soft Sky and Pool Party for the shading. Pear Pizzazz and Pretty in Pink were used on the branch and soft clouds were sponged in the background with Soft Sky. The patterned paper is called Garden Party from Pebbles.......sewing was done along the edges and the banners were hand cut. 

The sentiment is from the same set and the Baker's Twine and pearls for the eyes finish it off.

We went to Mackenzie's high scool soccer game last night...they tied 2-2. 

Her team played really well...Max played center position.

She ended up taking that ball away from the other team...woot!!!

Caitlyn came to the game with her daddy Steve....Caitlyn is Mackenzie's mini me.

Color throwdown Challenge #313

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! Tammy is our hostess this week and she has picked such bright, happy colors!! At first I was going to make a Halloween card but once I started looking for stamps, I found this sweet WPlus9 set and changed my mind....I made a fall bouquet instead. 

My card features stamps and dies from WPlus9's Fresh Cut Containers set...the flowers and leaves were stamped with Lavender Lace, Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss. They were all cutout with the coordinating dies and arranged with foam dots and glue dots. The vase was cutout with one of the coordinating dies and popped up with foam dots.

A little sewing was done on the tangerine patterned paper and the sentiment is from PTI's Birthday Basics set.

Color Throwdown Challenge #311

Hello everyone!! Cooler weather has come to Central Texas...it was in the 50's this morning...Woot!!! Fall has come early here....I hope that's not a hint that we are going to have an early winter. I hate to see summer go but I sure do love fall with all the warm, pretty colors!! Speaking of pretty colors...didn't Barbara pick out a soft, yummy palette of colors for us to play with this week at the Color Throwdown!!! 

My card features the wavy dies and the round scalloped die from Reverse Confetti and the script die from WPlus9. I used lots of scrap papers in the challenge colors and punched the circles in the background with a round SU punch. No bling, no twine, no buttons....what is this world coming to!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #307

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a great day!!! My hubs told me that we are down to the last of the tomatoes, melons, and peppers in the garden...that was music to my ears...LOL!!! I'll be glad to see the canning season end so I can put away all the canning equipment and clean up my kitchen!!! I will also have more time to stamp and visit all my blog friends....I've missed all the inspiration!!! Anyway....

It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Monika has picked such a bright, sunny color combo...sure to lift everyone's spirits!! I'm always happy when I work with yellow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #302

Hello everyone!!! Hope all is well with you!!! We are still gathering food from the garden....tomatoes, green peppers, and lots of cantaloupe. I made a couple batches of marinara sauce with the tomatoes and I have a 5 gallon bucket full waiting for me to play with tomorrow. We had quite a lot of rain last week so everything is growing like crazy.  I even got out the dehydrator and used it on some peppers and broccoli. Anyway....it's Wednesday so that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! It's Barbara's turn to host the challenge and I just love the bold, beautiful colors she chose!!

My card features the Fancy Feathers set from WPlus9 and the challenge colors....three of the feathers were cutout and popped up for a little dimension....no embellies this time...just feathers.

Color Throwdown Challenge #301

Hello everyone...hope all is well with you!! It has been raining here the last couple of days which is sooo wonderful!!! My little flowers are all perked up and smiling and the grass and trees are still green which is strange for the middle of July in Texas!! Our garden has really produced this year...we have broccoli, sweet corn, melons, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, green peppers, green beans, onions, carrots, cucumbers, 3 kinds of squash....I have been eating, freezing and canning my head off!!! Last night the hubs told me he is planning a winter garden....ai yi yi!!! He better call rent-a-wife when that one is ready because I think I'll be on strike...LOL!!!  Anyway....

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week it's Wanda's turn at the helm and I just love the pretty colors she picked...perfect for flowers!!

My card features the flower stamps from WPlus9's Spring Blooms set and the WPlus9 graphic set called Just Geometrics: Triangles that was used in the background. A diecut frame from my sweet friend Annette Allen was used along with the Memory Box happy die and the birthday stamp from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set....the washi tape, sequins, and the twine finish it off.
