Festive Frame by Melanie Muenchinger

Hello everyone...I am soo excited tonight because Melanie Muenchinger asked me to take part in her October new stamps release for Gina K. Designs!!! Isn't her new Festive Frame gorgeous!!! I made a couple of samples for your pleasure....the first one was stamped on Night of Navy with Versamark and embossed with silver ep. The poinsettias were stamped on white dp with Versamark and embossed with silver ep three times. The flowers were all cutout, colored lightly with copics, attached with dimensionals, dusted with glitter, and silver pearls were attached to the centers. The inner oval was cutout of the Night of Navy frame. The sentiment from the same set was stamped on a piece of light blue dp with Night of Navy. It was attached to a piece of Bashful Blue cs that extended beyond the frame layer. Then the frame was attached to the background layer with foam tape. Silk May Arts ribbon was tied around the side of the elevated top layer and little silver pearls finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Festive Frame
Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Nikki Sivil'd North Pole Nights dp
Ink: Versamark, Night of Navy

I wanted to create a little drama with this card. The Festive Frame was stamped with Versamark onto watercolor paper and embossed with gold ep. The poinsettias were colored with Tombow markers and red rhinestones were attached to the centers. The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Riding Hood Red onto white cs and layered on the black Nestabilities layer. The gold shimmery ribbon and more red rhinestones finish it off.

Happy Monday!!

You will have to forgive me the wonky title to my post....it's almost 2AM and my brain won't thing up anything catchy!!!! I have been catching up on my bluffering today and then at almost 2 in the morning I decide to do a blog post....I must be loosing my mind...LOL!!!!
I was playing around this weekend with my new Rubbernecker stamp set called Snowflakes and Stardust and came up with this design...It was supposed to look like a wreath but after looking at in again, it looks more like an ornament...oh well!!! The set has several different sizes and shapes of snowflakes...I just stamped them in a circle and stamped the sentiment in the center. Snowflakes were also stamped on the background patterned paper and the Spellbinders Snowflakes were sponged and covered with glitter. Ribbon and buttons finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Snowflakes and Stardust
Paper: White, Cool Caribbean , Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Grey dp
Ink: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Ruby Red, Rich Razzleberry, Cool Caribbean,
Accessories: Glitter, Buttons, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Dimensionals

The Featured Stamper today on Splitcoast is Rachel (Rachelhope13). I have been to Rachel's gallery several times and just love her style...sooo many lovely cards to choose from!!! I decided to case her adorable Hot Stuff card because I have a DGS who will be having a birthday soon and I need a masculine card. I kept the same masculine feel, layout and colors but changed the stamps, shape of card, and used a cowboy instead of a fireman. The Clear Dollar Stamp's Howdy Partner cowboy image was colored with copics and the cowboy hat was popped up for a little dimension. The ribbon, paisley images, and silver pearls finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Howdy Partner
Paper: Real Red, White, Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun, The Paper Studio dp, Stampin Up! dp

Fun Friday!

Hello everyone and I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day!!! Can you believe Halloween is next week.....we already bought our candy which was a big mistake!!! I have eaten a whole sack by myself....yikes!!!! Somebody STOP me!!!! I will have to walk for 3 days straight to work off all those calories!!! Anyway....

I have been playing with my new Rubbernecker Snowflakes and Stardust Set #481 stamps this morning and this is what I came up with. The tree and snowflake swirls along with all the single snowflakes were stamped with Ranger Distress Embossing Ink and embossed with clear ep. Ranger Distress Inks Broken China and Pealed Paint were sponged over the embossed images and spritzed with Perfect Pearl colored Perfect Pearls and water. The tree image was cutout of the middle with an oval Nestabilities and layered with Taken With Teal. The layers were then attached over the remaining piece with dimensionals and silver pearls were attached to the snowflake centers. May Arts Ribbon and the sentiment from the same set finish it off.

Stamps: Rubbernecker Snowflakes and Stardust set #481
Paper: White, Taken With Teal, Old Olive

The Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoast today was hosted by Jeanne (Jeanne S) and her challenge to us was to make a girly girl card without patterned paper. Hey Jeanne...what's up with the no patterned paper????? Jezzzzz....In that case I'll just show a little white!!! The adorable little cowgirl from Clear Dollar Stamps Howdy Partner was colored with copics and used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge: Certainly Celery, Purley Ponegranate, and Taken With Teal. My copics didn't match perfectly but they were close. This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to make a square card with square corners on all the layers.

I added a dot from a gel pen on her cheeks and the twill ribbon, flower, button, and twine finish it off.

Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Howdy Partner
Paper: White, Purley Pomegranate, Taken With Teal
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Flower, Button, Twine, MS Border Punch

I made this card yesterday for the Ways to Use it Challenge to find ways to use patches/patchwork.

This was a fun challenge and since I couldn't find any patchwork stamps, I created a patchwork background and added faux stitching...I shoulda just pulled out the sewing machine because this took quite a while to complete!!! The JustRite Christmas Treasures image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics. Flower Soft Polor White and glitter were added for a little glam. The corners with silver pearls, ribbon, and button with silver cording finish it off.

Tuesday Mojo

Hello everyone!! I did some serious stamping the last couple of days....I'm on a creative roll!!! I had some catching up to do and some new projects to start...my craft room looks like a tornado hit it!!!
I made this today for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast. Betty challenged us to use Bravo Burgundy, Cameo Coral, Vanilla, and Always Artichoke was optional.
The Clear Dollar Stamps Rock On guitar images were stamped twice with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. One set was cutout and popped up with dimensionals. Shadow guitars were stamped with Cameo Coral in the background for some added depth and the edges were sponged with Cameo Coral. The background layers are pieces of scrap dp...I sewed around the burgundy layer, added the ribbon, flourish, and sentiment.
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Rock On
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Cameo Coral, Designer Paper, Vanilla
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Flourish Punch, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine, SU Oval Punches

I finally got caught up on my Double Dog Dare Challenges...the coffin is Julia's (artystamper)challenge from last week and this week Joanne (sleepyinseattle) sent us some fun Halloween goodies (thanks, Joanne!!!) to use for Joanne's DDC challenge to make a Halloween Card. The template for the coffin can be found in the DDC thread in the challenge forum message #40. Be sure to add DDC to the keywords section when you upload so we can find your project!!!

The October Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni challenge was hosted by Jodi (Kharmagirl)....she challenged us to make a card/project with paper piecing, and in Christmas or Fall Colors. Well, last night when I read the challenge, I failed to read that the project needed to be done in fall or Christmas colors. But alas....my project has green and purple, which are Halloween colors and blue, which is a snowflake color sooooo...maybe this will pass!!!!
The sweet little Sarah Kay image reminds me of Holly Hobbies without the hat!! She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and paper pieced with Basic Grey's Wisteria. The hair, skin, and the highchair were colored with Copics. The background papers were also from the Wisteria 6x6 pad and ribbon, button, prima, and twine finished it off.
This reminds me of my DD when she was a little girl...she loved her babies and used to love Holly Hobbies so I took a little ride down memory lane with this challenge!!!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Christmas Greetings

Hello everyone...hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!!!
I made a card for the Featured Stamper Challenge today on Splitcoast. The featured stamper is none other than Riley (DancerRiley) and oh my, what a fabulous gallery!!!! After cruzing Riley's gallery for quite a while, I went back to page one and her beautiful Holiday Greetings card. I kept the same Christmas theme, the three ornaments, and the same colors. I changed the stamps, layout, and instead of bows, I added snowflakes.
This is also for the Basic Grey Challenge to use red, blue, and green on a card. The sketch I used is from the Sweet Stop Sketch #26 challenge blog. The twist for this challenge is to use something recycled. I pulled the snowflakes off another card so they are used and slightly abused!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Hero Arts
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses dp
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Felt Snowflakes, Candy Dots, Ribbon, Nestabilities, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for visiting today...now I'm off to make a few more cards before DH gets home!!!

Saturday Stampin!!

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great weekend!!! My DH went to Lake Fork, Tx for a fishing tournament this weekend so guess who is home stamping all weekend...Whoohoo!!! Life is good!!!
I made this card today for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast...This week’s inspiration comes from the amazing hand decorated tiles of Xenia Taler.
I just love all the tiles in this awesome site, ....I finally decided on the storybook tiles for my inspiration. I love the four tiles together and what beautiful colors!!! I used 4 different Rubbernecker stamp sets: The sentiment is from the Party Time set, the blue flower is from the Flower Silhouette set #468, the yellow flowers are from the Wildflowers set #465, and the red and orange flowers are from the Wildflowers Silhouettes #466. The stamps were all inked up with markers and a little bling was added to the flower centers. The ribbon finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: White, Really Rust, Indian Summer dp by Basic Grey
Ink: Really Red, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Brilliant Blue, Memento Tuxedo Black for the sentiment
Accessories: Bling, Ribbon, Dimensionals, SU Markers

I made this card Friday for the Limited Supplies Challenge on Splitcoast...we were to use a pre-printed note card for the card base. I have had a box of notecards I bought at Michael's several years ago...I'm sooo glad to get them out and start using them!!!
The sweet little puppy dog images were from Clear Dollar Stamps Dog Days set. The sentiment says "A dog leaves kisses on your face and pawprints on your heart". The background was stamped with the paw prints and dog images and the dog bone was stamped on white cs, cutout, and attached with a glue dot. The other pup was stamped on white with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The ribbon and clip finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Dog Days by Clear Dollar Stamps
Paper: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Notecard from Mike's
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Clip, Ribbon, Nestabilities, Copics
Thanks for visiting today...hope you get to do a little stamping this weekend!!!!

Happy Thursday!!!

Hello everyone....hope you are having a wonderful Thursday!!! I went to the local grade school again this morning to help some third graders read. It's sooo sad to realize that some children do not have the opportunity to read at home..even if the school sends the books home with the children. Arrrrrr!!! Ok, I'll get off my soap box and on to my card...
This card was created using the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #23. It also qualifies for the Lili of the Valley Challenge to make a Christmas Card for a child, Ohh La La Creations to use 3 different shapes, and the Paperplay Challenge to use my favorite embellishment which is bling!!
The deer image from Flourishes Flourished Christmas set was embossed with Gold Embossing Tinsel and colored with pastels. Tiny pink bling from Taylor's Tiny Twinkles was used on the antlers, vanilla pearls were used along the side of the snowflakes, and the snowflake stickers with blingy centers, ribbon, and sewing around the background layer finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes Flourished Christmas
Paper: Vanilla, Prism Classic Yellowgreen, Prism Baby Pink Medium, SEI Christmas Mint
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Sewing Machine, Gold Embossing Tinsel, Pearls, Pastels, Sandylion Essentials Snowflake Stickers
I made this card Tuesday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Bermuda Bay, Apricot Appeal, and Chocolate Chip.
This is also for Anne's (jdmommy) DDC challenge (post #39 in the DDC thread) from last week to make a masculine get well card. The Rubbernecker Victorian Diamond Panel background stamp was stamped with Ranger Distress Embossing ink and embossed with clear ep. After sponging on Bermuda Bay and Apricot Appeal, Perfect Pearls and water was spritzed on and dried with a heat tool. The leaf image from Rubbernecker's Fall Trilogy set was stamped with Bermuda Bay and embossed with clear ep. It was also sponged with BB and AA and spritzed with PP's. The sentiment was hand written because I didn't have a get well sentiment the right size. Since we couldn't use ribbon or flowers (per Anne's rules) I used brown twine, sewing, and brown pearls to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Victorian Diamond Panel, Rubbernecker Fall Trilogy
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Apricot Appeal
Accessories: Twine, Pearls, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Foam Tape, Clear Embossing Powder

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The Belli challenge this week is to make fall/Thanksgiving projects with at least one leaf ....check it out on the Creative Belli Blog!!
I am really excited to tell you that our sponsor this week is Creative Cuts and More...an awesome online company that specializes in die cuts and die cut cardstock.

For this card I used the A2 Arch Window Card in Bazzill Textured cardstock and the color is called Hillary. I also used the chipboard leaves, painted them with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and when dry, colored them with copics and markers. They were attached to the card with glue dots.

The leaves from Rubbernecker's Fall Trilogy set were inked up with Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and stamped onto the white cardstock. The Rubbernecker sentiment was lined up so it showed in the bottom pane and was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. The ribbon knot finished it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Fall Trilogy and Rubbernecker sentiment
Paper: Creative Cuts and More A2 Arch Window card, Whisper White, Really Rust
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby RedAccessoriesL Creative cuts and More Chipboard Leaves, Ribbon, Glue Dots

This die cut card on smooth cardstock is called Square Scalloped Card 5 1/4-Square Window #02 and the color is called Grape Delight. I scored the front on the diagonal to add a little texture. The Our Craft Lounge wreath image from the Giving Thanks set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The bow was stamped twice, one was cutout, and popped up with dimensionals to hang on the outside of the cutout. Pearls in the corners finish it off.

One lucky winner will receive a free Halloween Castle Kit from Creative Cuts and More....how cool is that!!!
Be sure to visit the Creative Belli Design Team Member's blogs to read more details about their designs. You will find lots of awesome ideas!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast or PCP, be sure to add CBC76 in the keywords section.

Happy Monday!!!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are having a great Monday!! I was up bright and early this morning and went straight to the craft room. I had to finish my Unity Bachelor Bro challenge #4 card that I started on Thursday. The Unity Bachelor Bro Week 4 challenge is to make a recipe card for dinner with the man you love!! We are going to skip dinner and go right to dessert...who doesn't love gingerbread cookies!!!
I hand drew the gingerbread man out of Creamy Caramel, added stickles to the trim, cutout the hat and added the white glittery paper. The cheeks are red liquid pearls, the eyes were drawn on with a black copic and the eye highlight and mouth were made with a gel pen. The Unity Snowflake from the August KOM was stamped on the corners of the recipe with Real Red. He was attached to the background with foam tape and a little gingerbread girl button and bow finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Snowflake from Unity's August KOM
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Real Red, White Glitter paper, dp, Vanilla
Ink: Real Red, Black Copic
Accessories: Red Stickles, Ribbon, Red Liquid Pearls, White Gel Pen, Gingerbread Girl Button, Foam Tape

I made this card for today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast to use the thumping technique.
I worked on my *thumped* background for 2 hours and finally gave up cause it looked like a muddy mess...I cutout some of the thumped leaves and added them to a tree I drew along the side. I hope that still qualifies this for the CAS challenge!!! The Billy image from Clear Dollar Stamps Billy and Maggie Fall Fun set illustrated by Wendy Hall was colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam tape. Clouds were sponged in the background and the button, twine, and ribbon finish it off. This also qualifies for several other challenges:
2. The Pink Elephant challenge blog to use a Fall theme
3. Vicki's second Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential to dress up trees
4. The Stamp Something Challenge to use the color brown. Brown needed to appear in good supply.
Recipe:

Austin Area SCS Shoebox Swap

OMG...what a FABULOUS day we had yesterday!!!! The Austin area stampers sure do know how to put on a wonderful event!!! Thanks sooo much to Rae Ann, Brenda, and Karen for all your hard work!!! Carmen...your Lone Star Retreat was such a wonderful facility...perfect for all our needs and the food was delicious!! Libby...thanks for coordinating all those freebies from such great companies...I was blown away by there generosity!!!
This is the swap card I made to take....we had to design a 10 minute card...yikes!!! I cut the cardstock, ran the Ruby Red layer through the cuttlebug with the Diamonds in the Rough folder, and cut the top note from Kraft. I even pierced the holes for the brads and punched the slit for the ribbon. All they had to do was to use Ruby Red and Always Artichoke markers to color the Asian Artistry image, stamp it on the Kraft, and use an aqua painter to watercolor the image. They didn't even need ink...the water from the aqua painter will move the stamped colors around to give a watercolored look. The stamped sentiment, brads, ribbon, and popping the top note with foam dots finished it off.

This is the card I added to my exchange gift. The JustRite image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. A white gel pen was used to add the highlights, Daisy D's paper was used for the layers, ribbon from Hobby Lobby, primas, leaves, and button with twine finish.

Libby, Lori, and yours truly

Lots of busy stampers!!

This is the whole gang...notice the jackets!! It was in the 50's...burrrr!!!

Spooky to Spirtual

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great day!!! I have had such a busy week....helping get ready for the church basement sale, visiting my Grandkids at school, and spending time at the school helping some third graders to read. The Clear Dollar Stamp's Dog Days image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Lavender Lace was sponged on the sky and Martha Stewart punches were used for the fence and the bats. I had to give the little bats eyes with a white gel pen...couldn't let them fly around blind!!!

Monday Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all well and happy this morning!!! I dove into a few challenges today...I made this thank you card for the CAS challenge on Splitcoast. Jen picked an inspiration challenge today from the Cost Plus World Market online store....I chose the Round Suzani Applique pillow as inspiration. The black layer is my faux suede layer for the TLC challenge on Splitcoast, the round card design is for the CCEE challenge and it also qualifies for the Cupcake Crafts challenge to make a thank you card. Phew!!!!! The medallion was made using a corner punch with the guard off. The little flowers were punched out and attached with glue dots. The sentiment is from See D's Phrases Collection and the silver pearls finish it off.
Recipe:

Stamps: See D's Phrases Collection
Paper: White, Black, Prism Vibrant Teal
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: SU Corner Punch, SU Trio Flower Punch, Blossom Nestabilities, Silver Pearls. Rounc Scalloped Nestabilities

This is my card for Unity Stamp's Bachelor Bro Challenge #3 to use plaid and polka dots. The Unity butterfly images and the sentiment were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep. They were then colored with copics. Let me give you a little tip....you might want to seal the embossing so the ep doesn't melt onto your copic marker....I now have to change the nubs on two markers!! Anyway...the flourishes and sentiment layer were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the scallops were stamped with Pumpkin Pie onto Summer Sun cs. Gold pearls and the plaid ribbon from Stamper's Dream finish it off.

Recipe:

Stamps: Unity Bevy of Butterflies, Unity's September 2008 KOM
Paper: Summer Sun, Black, Basic Grey's Indian Summer dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamark
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Plaid Ribbon, Gold Pearls, Dimensionals, Copics
Thanks for visiting today....have a good one!!!!
