Color Throwdown Challenge #198

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!
The lovely and oh sooo talented  Kerri is the hostess this week and she has some bright, summery colors for us to create with!!

It's been forever since I inked up a little Pure Innocence Girl from My Favorite Things...this set is called Make Mine a Double. She was colored with Copics and her dress, ice cream, and shoes were paper pieced. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #161, the papers are from Basic Grey's Konnichiea dp, and the rolled flower dies from My Favorite Things were used for the felt flowers. The sentiment is from the same set and the twine, pearls, and sewing finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Crafty Cardmakers - make your own flowers
2. Use Your Stuff - stitching
3. Pile it On - make your own embellishments (flowers)
4. Paper Play Challenge - use a die

Make Your Own Silhouettes

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend... three of our Grands have been here for a week and they will be here until next weekend. They sure do keep this old grandma hopping!!! We have been playing card games, cooking, garage saling, shopping, swimming, going to movies, out to eat...my oh my!!! We went to church this morning and then we went to see the horses, donkeys, and chickens....we have a new rescue horse!! She is a 15 month old Quarter Horse and Autumn named her Chestnut. She is brown with 3 white stockings and a white streak down her forehead....I will be sharing some pictures in a few days. Anyway....

I am hosting the TLC challenge on Splitcoast again this week and my challenge is to make our own patterned paper silhouettes. How many times have you wanted to use a silhouette stamp but didn't have the right one??? Well, now you can turn lined stamps into silhouettes in just a few minutes!!!

1. First, pick out your stamps...you can use any stamp you want...solid or lined
2. Stamp it on the back of a piece of patterned paper...the darker the better! That way it looks more like a silhouette but use what you have.
3. Cutout the image and adhere patterned paper side up onto your cardstock...you can use several images or just one...what ever trips your creative trigger!!!
4. If you don't have the perfect stamp, you can use a die
5. If you don't have a die to use, cut out a picture or object from a magazine and place it on the back of the patterned paper as a template.
6. Cut out an image from a picture ( it would be fun to use your children's picture) and use it as the template.
7. Be creative and have fun!!

My card features several different retired Stampin Up! flower stamps: 1. Botanical Blooms, 2. Central Park, 3. Long Stemmed, and a Rubbernecker sentiment from the Happy Birthday set small #624. The patterned papers are from Bo Bunny's Garden Girl and Basic Grey's Out of Print. I used a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder, sewing around the edges, stacked buttons, and twine to finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Catch the Bug Challenge - use twine, bow, and buttons
2. Our Daily Bread Challenge - use three or more stamps on the front of your card
3. Moving along With the Times - Happy Birthday
4. Sarah Hurley Challenge - texture and dimension

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day and if you have time, I would love to have you try this fun challenge!!!

My card features one of my favorite Rubbernecker sentiments called Go Confidently #582-12.....it was cutout with a My Favorite Things Die-namics die, trimmed  and sewn along the edge, and popped up with foam dots.  The rolled felt flowers and leaves also cut with Die-manics dies were added and the punched butterfly is the finishing touch.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker

Craft Sale Card Designs

Good morning everyone...I hope y'all had a great weekend!! We had lunch with Mom and Dad for Father's Day....my boys all spent the day with their families. It's hard to believe that my little boys are old enough to be fathers....sure makes me feel old!!!  I need to apologize to all of you on my email list...I was hacked this weekend and spam was sent to your emails...I am so sorry!!!! What makes those idiots think that they are going to sell their products by spamming people....what jerks!!!! I have changed my email password twice and have stayed logged out most of the day...I hope it all goes away!!!! Anyway....

I have been working on my Christmas card designs for the Christmas in July sale at the church. I worked on three designs yesterday that I can mass produce for the sale....sets of 6 and 8 sell real well especially if they are flat for mailing!!!
This one features an old retired stamp set from Stampin Up! called Nature's Christmas. The paper is from Anna Griffin and the doily die, pearls, and seam binding finish it off. I may have to take the bow off because it's just a little bulky.

This one features the Santa stamp from A Crafty Secrets Christmas set and the sentiment is from Flourishes Christmas Wreath set....the paper is Echo Parks Merry Christmas collection and the ribbon is the finishing detail.
I used Papertrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits set for the little button ornaments. The green background was embossed with a snowflake folder and the paper from echo Park and ribbon finish it off.

I'll be working on a few more designs this week and then the mass production begins!!!
Have a great day...I'm so glad you came by today!!!

Bold and Bright

Good morning everyone!!! I had a free afternoon yesterday so I stamped away in the craft room....don't ya just love days like that!!!! I made this for the I Spy #19 sketch challenge....I had  these scrap papers on my counter so I decided to put them all together for this bright thank you card for a friend. This is also for the Pixie Dust challenge to use birds and for the Stamp and Create challenge to use bold and bright colors.

I used an A Muse set called Life is a Song...the birds were stamped in real red and the birdcage in night of navy. A Cherry Lynn die was used for the red vine and a MFT's Die-namics die was used for the trim piece.  The embossed vanilla background, button and Baker's Twine from the Twinery finishes it off.

I'm off to the church to work on a few craft projects for our Christmas in July sale...I hope to have some pictures in a few days....we are making some awesome stuff!!!!!

Thanks for visiting....have a great day!!!!!

Just a Note

Good morning everyone!!! I have been cooking up a storm this week....I made the best corn casserole with ham, cheese, corn, Jiffy corn bread mix, green peppers, onions, and butter...it was sooo good!!! I also made a couple chicken pot pies with all the really bad stuff like Velvetta, cream cheese, half and half, real butter...yikes!!! I can feel my arteries clogging up already...LOL!!!! I am going back on my diet tomorrow....I'll have to walk on the treadmill for at least 2 hours!!!! Anyway....
It's was my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast on Monday and my challenge for this week was to use halves.
My inspiration came from my wonderful and very talented friend, Broni Holcombe!! When I saw her gorgeous butterfly card my brain wheels started turning....I love the look of half of an image on a card or project!! You can :
1. Stamp the image half on the edge of the paper
2. Stamp the whole image on the paper and cover half of it up with another layer.
3. You can use a stamped image, diecut, or wood piece...as long as you only use half of it ( or slightly more than half like I did on my card)
4. Have fun!!!

My card features the adorable Little Birdie set from Woodware Stamps. The birdcage was stamped twice...  one was stamped directly on the patterned paper and the other one was stamped on the paper, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The little birds were stamped on white card stock, colored with Copics, and also popped up with foam dots. The sentiment from an A Muse set called Avian Notes was stamped on a
Die-namics diecut and the papers are from Webster's Pages Life's Portrait dp....the sewing, twine and button finish it off.

Here is the corn casserole recipe:

2 cups diced cooked ham - I cut mine into really small pieces
1/2 cup butter - softened
1 - 16 oz can cream corn
1 - 16 oz can whole kernel corn - undrained
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup green peppers - chopped
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1 package Jiffy Corn Muffin mix
salt and pepper to taste

Combine all the ingredients, pour in a 9 x 13 greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
I added more cheddar cheese on the top and baked an additional 5 minutes till it melted.....yummmmm!!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!!

Color Throwdown #196

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!
The fabulous Danielle  is our hostess this week and she has picked some soft, pretty  pastel colors for us to play with!! I just love to combine blue and yellow!!

I went very CAS this week...images from the A-muse Studio set called  Avian Notes were used along with a Die-manics sentiment die. The trees were stamped with Crumb Cake onto the Bashful Blue card stock and the birds were stamped with So Saffron, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The sentiment layers are So Saffron and Crumb Cake and the vanilla twine finishes it off. I can't believe I didn't add any patterned paper, lace, buttons, layers....I must have a fever!!!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Paper and Such - our feathered friends
2. Let's Ink it Up - use your favorite embellishment - mine is twine
3. Quirky Crafts Challenge - feature something you will see in the sky - birds
4. Pile it On - let's get outdoors

Lots of Green and Red

Good morning everyone!!! I hope you are having a great weekend!!! My daughter Holly and I went to Waco yesterday to attend a Buffet Class at the Crop-Paper-Scissors Scrapbook Shop. We made the cutest mini album...I will have pictures for you tomorrow!!   We came home with stained fingers and glitter everywhere but we sure did have fun!!!!  We are going again next month to make another  album....it fits into the cutest little picnic basket...I can't wait!!! Anyway....

I made this card for Friday's Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast...the challenge was to to give up those scissors and let something else do the cutting. You could use dies, punches, Cricut or other  machine cut details but no scissor cutting.  Since I only have a Cuttlebug, I used it to cut out the doily and rick rack die cuts and used a Martha Stewart punch for the Santa.......to finish it off, I used a button and The Twinery twine.

I made this card for the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use circles. The  Rubbernecker's Round Ornament #550 and the  Happy Birthday Circle #565-20 stamps were both inked up with the Fresh Greens Kaleidacolor ink pad, cutout, and the sentiment with a Garden Green doily was popped up on foam dots. The Twinery Peapod Green twine and a button are the finishing touches.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Card Crafter's Circle - monochromatic
2. Craft Punked - birthday/celebration
3. 4 Crafty Chicks - monochromatic
4. Fab 'n' Funky Challenge - go green

Thanks for visiting ...I hope you have a great Sunday!!!

Catch Up!!

Good morning everyone!!! I have had such a crazy, busy week...a doctor's appointment for my Mom, cooking, weeding...you get the picture!!! I even managed to squeeze in a haircut...Whoohoo!! My girlfriend was here for three days...we started our nursing careers together many years ago....so we had to go shopping and eat out!! George was more than ready to go fishing this morning...LOL!!! Anyway....

I have several cards I made in the last 2 weeks for Splitcoast challenges that I want share with you today....they all were made with Rubbernecker Stamps.
The first card I made for last weeks sketch challenge and features several silhouette stamps....I started with a light base stamped with the Rubbernecker French Script stamp. Then I used a variety of wildflower stamps from Rubbernecker and finished with some little red flowers from the Create a Garden set 1 #512 and a sentiment called Sweetest Gift #627-11. The butterfly is punched with a Martha Stewart punch from Soft Sky card stock and pearls were added to the butterfly and the red flowers.

This was for Jeanne's hot pink F4A challenge. I used two new Rubbernecker stamp sets on my card...Floral Square set #632 and Happy Birthday Set Small #624 for the sentiment. The flower images were all stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto the Melon Mambo cardstock The button and twine from The Twinery finished it off.

This was for Thursday's WT challenge to use banners. My card featured Rubbernecker's Cherry Blossom stamp #609-05. The stamp was colored with markers and stamped on the vanilla card stock. The sentiment was from RN's Fashion Icon's set #456 and the paper was from Anna Griffin. The Twinery twine and Cherry Lynn vine flourish die finished it off.

I will have a couple more cards to show you tomorrow....thanks for stopping by!!!!!
