Double Dog Dare Challenge and Belli Challenge #48

Good morning, everyone and HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!!

Today I have two cards for you. The first is the Double Dog Dare challenge I do each week with a group of wonderful and talented SCS friends. It was my honor to host last week and I chose to challenge the group to make a spring card with flowers, birds, butterflies, or anything else that represented Spring!!

I used a new stamp set from Sassafras called Freshly Picked. The flower image and the butterflies were stamped on vanilla cs with Archival Jet Black ink from Ranger (I can't begin to tell you how much I love that ink.....it covers the silhouette images perfectly without glumping up and it embossed beautifully!!) and embossed with clear ep. The flowers were colored with a Cameo Coral marker.

The background paper is from Anna Griffin, the ribbon from Papertrey Ink, and the rhinestones from Stamper's Dream. The image was layered with Cameo Coral, Basic Gray, and black cardstock and the butterflies were cut out and attached with glue dots. You may see a few spots on the black embossed flowers....stray pieces of who knows what got in my clear embossing powder so it has a real unique look!!

You can see all the Double Dog Dare cards here.

Recipe: Stamps: Sassafras Freshly Picked

Paper: Vanilla, Cameo Coral, Black, Basic Gray, Anna Griffin dp

Ink: Archival Jet Black

Accessories: Nestabilities, Cameo Coral Marker, Clear (sorta) ep, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Black rhinestones

Belli Challenge #48

The Belli Challenge this week was to make a card to celebrate something...New Years, birthday, Spring, etc.

The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723)Dickinson to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!! Anyone can play, so get out your scraps, stamps, and embellies!! Check out Chris' blog for details on how to win the challenge!!

I decided to make a birthday card because my friend will celebrate her birthday soon and this stamp is just perfect!! I used images from Crafty Secrets Girlfriends set, stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with copics, and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment was cut out with Nesties as was the background layer and then it was bugged with the Dotted Swiss folder. The background paper is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie pack and the ribbon, black pearls, Prima, and SU button finish it off.

Thanks for the great challenge, Chrissy!!

Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful celebration cards they designed!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks Day 4

Good morning everyone!! Today is the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks Day 4!! Today I will be showcasing the January Stamp of the Month called Spring Trimmings. This set could be yours free with a $50.00 Clear Dollar Stamps order. Check it out on January 1st!!

Laurie Wilson, Clear Dollar Stamps Design Team Coordinator, challenged the design team to a color challenge; So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, and Gable Green....what gorgeous spring colors!!!

The basket, flowers, dragonfly, and the sentiment were all stamped with Memento Black. The images were colored with the challenge color markers, cut out with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. Scallops were added to the So Saffron layer with the SU scallop border punch and Liquid Pearls dots were added to the scallops. I was excited when I found this scrap of Paper Studio dp in my stash...the colors were perfect for the challenge!! The Almost Amethyst card base was run through the Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug folder and the Papertrey Ink ribbon and pearls from Stamper's Dream were added for a little glam.

The CDS's January Stamp of the Month images make the most perfect inchies!! How fun is this!! The images are all stamped with PTI's Berry Sorbet and layered over Berry Sorbert and Spring Moss cardstock. The background designer papers are also from Papertrey Ink along with the ribbon. I added a clear square button over the dragonflies to qualify this for Laurie's clear challenge. Dots were added to the Nesties layer with a white gel pen and tiny pearls from Stamper's Dream were added to the corners.

My last card is a combo of CDS's January Stamp of the Month and the Spring Critter's set. The adorable bunny and sentiment were stamped with Memento Black and the bunny was paper pieced with Basic Grey's Urban Prairie dp. The grass was colored with a copic marker. The eggs were all stamped on scraps of Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss cardstock and Urban Prairie dp. The decorations were stamped with Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss. All the layers were cutout with Nestabilities and dots were added with a white gel pen. The background dp is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, and Kiwi Kiss and the ribbon is from Stampin Up!
That completes the Sneak Peeks for the January 1, 2009 releases. Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great Tuesday!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks Day 3

Good morning everyone!! This is day three of the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks and today I am going to showcase the adorable Spring Critters stamp set. This set has 19 stamps, nine images and 10 sentiments and will be available Jan. 1 !!

This cute little worm and the sentiment "Inching By To Say Hi" were stamped with Memento Black onto Whisper White. The image was colored with Gable Green, Pretty in Pink, and Regal Rose markers, both were cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. A Mothermark faux cloud template and Bashful Blue were used to create the clouds, and the ribbon, Prima, and the pretty pink pearls finish it off. This is also for the sketch challenge that out Design Team leader, Laurie Wilson developed for our creative pleasure!!

This super cute little chick and the sweet little ladybugs from the Spring Critters set are just sooo adorable!!!
Laurie gave us another challenge to create a paper tole project. The chick was stamped twice using Memento Black, once on the white cs that was sponged with clouds using the Mothermark template, and once on the yellow Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp. The yellow chick was cut out and popped up on dimensionals over the stamped image on the card stock. The ladybugs were both stamped twice, also, once on the main image with Memento Black and once with Craft Black on a piece of scrap white. The ladybugs stamped with the craft ink were embossed with clear ep, cutout, and attached with dimensionals over the main image stamped ladybugs. The grass was created with a scrap piece of Old Olive cs. After the blades of grass were cut, they were ruffed up a bit, and attached to the main image. The scallops were made with Baja Breeze cs that was run through the cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder and the Stampin Up! scallop border punch, then matted with the black scallops. The Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp layered with black served as the background layer and punches were used to create the sentiment layers. Primas, ribbon, and a clip were added to finish it off.

The cute little beaver with the big teeth just cracks me up.....too, too cute!!! He was stamped with Memento Brown onto vanilla cs and colored with copics. He really looks yellow in the picture but the color matches the dp better in real life!! He was layered on the square Close to Cocoa medallion (you will find the tutorial for the medallion here on Taylor's blog) and Baja Breeze. The beautiful paper is from Granny's Kitchen and the old buttons came from my stash of antique shell buttons. The sentiment, "I miss you this munch! " was also stamped with Memento Brown and attached to the Baja Breeze cuttlebugged layer. The organdy ribbon finished it off.
Thanks for coming to take a look today and tomorrow I will show you the last three cards that will showcase the Stamp of the Month for January. It's free when you order $50.00 worth of goodies at Clear Dollar Stamps. Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs for some fabulous inspiration!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks Day 2

Good morning!! I am really excited about the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks I have for you on day two !! Believe me, it was really hard to decide which ones to showcase today!! Since this set is one of my faves, I decided today was the day for this adorable little bear. This set is called Spring Critters and has 19 stamps in the set: a bunny, chick, broken egg (two pieces), bear with a ball, beaver, two ladybugs, worm, and ten sentiments!! WOW, what a deal and it will be available on January 1!!

The sweet little bear was stamped with Memento Black, colored with copics, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. The designer paper, Whisper White cs, Soft Sky cs , Sahara Sand cs, and ribbon are from Stampin Up!, and the copper pearls are from Stamper's Dream. The sentiment "Hope Your Birthday is a Ball" was also stamped with Memento Black onto Whisper White, cutout with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. Laurie Wilson, CDS DT Coordinator, challenged us to make a card with a charm or something dangling so I added the sweet little silver heart by attaching it to the ribbon with silver cording to qualify for the challenge.

I just love this adorable set called Charliene Cowgirl designed by Laurie Wilson, Design Team Coordinator for Clear Dollar Stamps!!
The set includes four image stamps, five sentiments and will be available on January 1.

Charliene was stamped with Memento Black onto Whisper White, colored with copics, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment which says "Kick up your hooves!" was also stamped with Memento Black, cut out with a Nestie and attached over the prima. Barely Banana and Baja Breese were used for the cardstock and the paper is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection. Ribbon from Papertrey Ink and the little horse shoe from the stamp set finish it off.

Charliene was stamped with Memento Brown onto Whisper White, colored with copics, cutout with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment, "Hope you're filly'n fine" was also stamped with Memento Brown, cutout with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Basic Grey Sugared papers were used and Stampin Up! ribbon, felt flower, pink rhinestones, and a gold brad are the finishing touches.
Please check out the other Design Team Members blogs for more fabulous sneak peeks!!!
I have a little announcement to make, too!! I will be staying on the Design Team for another three months....WHOOHOO!!! Thanks Lori and Laurie!!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek Day One!

Good morning everyone!!! Have I got a treat for you today....this is day one of the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks. These are the new stamps for release on January 1, 2009 (yikes...2009...can you believe it??).

The stamp set I will preview today is called Chocoholic. For a chocolate love, such as myself, this is heaven!!!

The chocolate sentiment was stamped with Memento Brown onto Whisper White cs, cut out with Nestabilities, and layered with Green Galore, Ruby Red, and designer paper from the DCWV Sweet Stack. Ruby Red was used as the card base. The cupcakes were stamped with Memento Brown, cutout, colored with a Pretty in Pink marker and attached with dimensionals.
The sentiment at the bottom says "I'd give up chocolate but I'm no quitter!" The background paper is one sheet from the Sweet Stack...it looks like several layers. The luscious Stampin Up! chocolate ribbon finishes it off.

I used three different stamps from the Chocoholic set on this card. The images were stamped with Memento Brown and colored with Close to Cocoa. The dark chocolate was colored with the marker and the light chocolate was colored with an aqua brush and the Close to Cocoa ink pad....same ink, different shade of chocolate. The pink was colored with a Pixie Pink marker. A long rectangle Nestie was used to cut out the Stampin Up! dp for the background and it was layered on Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and Regal Rose for the card base. The center image was layered with Baja Breeze and Chocolate chip. The end images were layered with just Chocolate chip. Baja Breese was sponged around the edges of the end images. The gorgeous ribbon from
Strano Designs is the finishing touch.

Laurie Wilson, Design Team Coordinator for Clear Dollar Stamps, challenged the Design Team to make something you could see through. Since I love chocolate and I needed a gift for a fellow chocolate lover, what better way to showcase the chocolate than with a see through box!! I used this pattern to make the box and customized it by the addition of the scallops made with Close to Cocoa and a Martha Stewart border punch. The Chocolate sentiment was stamped with Memento Brown onto the Whisper White cs and layered on a piece of Jolie Chocolat dp by SEI. That is the same dp that was used on the lids. Stampin Up! ribbon was tied around the box and tied in a bow on top.
Thanks for stopping by today and I will have more sneak peeks for you tomorrow!!

Happy Birthday Cole!!!

Whoohoo!!! Look who turned 5 today...my sweet little Grandson Cole (he calls me his sweet little old grandma)!!! We will celebrate his birthday tomorrow so grandma had to get on the ball and get the card done today!!

Since Cole loves cars (and transformers) the Clear Dollar Stamps set called Cruisin' Classic was just perfect.

Also, this is for the Limited Supply challenge on Splitcoast....I haven't done a daily challenge all week (GASP!!!). We were to make a non-holiday card . No holiday stamps, no snowflakes, no holiday sentiments, and no red, green, or any shade of them. Well, phooy....I should have read the criteria closer because I did add Certainly Celery. Oh, well, hope the challenge police don't haul me away!!!

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Silver brads were added to the grill, piercing and brads from
Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts were added to the bottom, and the edge was cut to follow the curve of the Sonburn dp. The sentiment and the sign from the same set were also stamped with Memento Black. The sign was colored with a copic and the clip with the ribbon finishes it off.
I hope Cole likes this and maybe he won't notice the ribbon...heeheehee!!!
Have a great day and I hope you enjoy your weekend!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Cruisin' Classic (5651)
Paper: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pacific Point, Night of Navy, More Mustard, Sonburn dp

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! What a wonderful day!!! I am up early to get the turkey in the oven. I just had to make one more Christmas card ...my last one for this year!!

I used the adorable Rubbernecker image, stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with copics. Dazzling Diamonds was added to the stocking and Liquid Pearls with a coating of Dazzling Diamonds was added to the kitty's hat. I added some doodling to the edges of the image and used the out of the box technique to cut out the image .....cut out part of the hat and the pine bough along the edge. Sewing was done around the background layer on the K&Co. dp and pearls were added to the rounded corners. The Rubbernecker sentiment was stamped with Memento Black, cut out with Nesties, doodling was done around the edge, layered onto Cameo Coral cs, and attached with dimensionals.

The close up shows how the hat and pine bough were cut out and how the liquid pearls gave the hat a furry look. Buttons were attached over the stamped buttons on the image. Papertrey Ink Ribbon finished it off.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have the very best Christmas evah!!!

Paper: Cameo Coral, Spring Moss, Shimmery White, K&Co.

Double Dog Dare Challenge and Belli Challenge #47

Double Dog Dare Challenge

Good morning everyone...It's Christmas Eve and all is well!!! I have all my presents wrapped and under the tree, the stockings are all hung up, my friend, Patsy, is here to spend the holidays, and we are going shopping today for a few thing so we can do a little baking before Mom and Dad and my DD Holly and her DH John come over. We are going to have oyster stew, chile, and nachos for supper after church. I know, it's a wierd combo but everyone got to pick their favorite dish. We even have a hot dog to go with the chile for my mother!! Anyhoo....enough of my rambling!!!

This wonderful Thomas Kinkade image was sent to the members of the DDC group by Julia (artystamper). Her dare to us was to see what we could design with the beautiful image. I chose to color it with copics, layer on Baja Breeze, and to use Papertrey Ink designer paper for the background layers. I even sewed a little around the bottom layer and used a Martha Stewart border punch to make the scallops on the bottom. The sentiment from Crafty Secrets Mini Memories set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Whisper White, cut out with Nesties, and the edges were sponged with Barely Banana. Primas, Buttons, pearls, ribbon, and a clip with a ribbon finish it off. Thanks, Julia, for the great challenge!!!

Belli challenge #47 - Belli's Gone By!

This adorable Rubbernecker image was used for the Belli Challenge. The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723) to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!! Anyone can play, so get out your scraps, stamps, and embellies!! Check out Chris' blog for details on how to win the challenge!!

The challenge this week is to make a card using Belli challenges from the past. I went a little crazy on this card...tried to do as many past challenges as I could! Here is the list:
# 9 Glitter (Dazzling Diamonds and Stickles)
#12 Scraps (I used a scrap of white and Chocolate Chip)
#14 Ribbon ( 3 different colors)
#18 Paper Piercing ( Piercing on the Figgy Pudding layer)
#23 Designer Paper ( The Basic Grey Figgy Pudding)
# 26 Felt (I used a felt snowflake)
#34 Square ( I made a square card)
# 38 Clips (I used a round brown clip )

Whoohoo....8 challenges on one card!!!

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The snow area was covered with pearl colored Liquid Pearls and covered with Dazzling Diamonds. The fire was covered with red and yellow Stickles and Dazzling Diamonds was added to the snowmen's hats and the stars on the scarf.

All the edges were distressed and sponged with a little Close to Cocoa. Piercing was done on the Figgy Pudding layer using the sewing machine (sewing without thread) and actual sewing was done on the main image. Liquid Pearls was also added to the marshmallows to give them a toasty look.
A clip with ribbon, two other ribbons, and a felt snowflake finish the design.

Thanks for the great challenge, Chrissy!!

Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful cards they designed using Belli Challenges gone by!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!! The Rubbernecker Moose image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Dazzling Diamonds was added to the hat, sewing was done on the background layers, and I doodled around the Rubbernecker sentiment to kinda mimic the tangle of lights. The layers were cutout with Nesties and attached with dimensionals. Piercing was done along the right edge of the green layer and Rubby Red brads were added to some of the holes.

Featured Stamper Challenge#98

Today's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast is Paula (paulatracy)!! OMG, what a fabulous gallery...Paula is an amazing artist!! Her coloring is sooo awesome!! I chose to case her Christmas Lantern card. I kept the same layout and Christmas theme but changed the stamp, papers, colors, and added piercing rather than sewing.

The Christmas Stained Glass Cardinal image from Rubberstamp Ave. was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto vanilla cs and colored with copics. Crystal Effects was used over the bird image and then dusted with Dazzling Diamonds. The background was sponged with Soft Sky. Pearl colored Liquid Pearls was added to the snow and covered with Dazzling Diamonds, piercing was done on the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper and pearls and ribbon finish it off.

The close up shows the stained glass effect with the Crystal Effects. The image was matted on Real Red cardstock

Now, would you like to see what I did yesterday??? My wonderful Grandbabies, Cody and Mackenzie (the blondes) and their friend, Brandy, came over to make Christmas cookies. We had such fun and the kids did a great job!!! Cody did get carried away just a little with the flour but what the heck....now it really seems like Christmas!!

It took a little practice with the rolling pins but it didn't take long to get the hang of it.

How fun!!! There is nothing better than happy, smiling children!!

Yikes!! We had to take Cody's shirt off and go outside to shake it out!! Good thing the temp was in the 70's!!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!!!

4. Peel and Stick Flower Rhinestones

5. Cuttlebug Christmas Tree folder

6. Inkadinkado Coastal/Maritime Stamps

Happy Friday!!

Good morning!! I have some Christmas stamps that I haven't inked up yet so today I will be making some last minute quick cards with as many of them as I can.
This sweet little Stampendous image called Harmony Angel is from Stamper's Dream (thanks Michelle!!). Michelle has the most wonderful store full of goodies and she delivers sooo fast....it's a great place to shop!! The angel was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The wings were covered with Dazzling Diamonds. The wide satin ribbon came off a gift I recieved for my birthday last May...I was saving it for a special card. Looks like today is the day!! The pink ribbon was tied around the wide ribbon to create the pucker and the button was glued on using Crystal Effects. It dries really hard and the button won't budge!! I wish I had added the Crystal Effects to the wings prior to the glitter for a little dimension but didn't think of it till the glitter was dry. The sentiment is from the Clear Dollar Stamps Holly Builder set and the layers were cut out with Nestabilities.
Thanks for dropping by this morning.....I really need to wash some clothes and scrub the kitchen floor but I think I will stamp instead!!! Have a great day!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Stampendous, Clear Dollar Stamps
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi, White, K&Co. dp

Ways To Use It Challenge-Quick and Easy!

Can you believe I actually made something quick and easy??? Shock!!! That is what Julia cooked up for us on the WT challenge on Splitcoast today. When I read the challenge I thought, ya, right...quick and easy usually means long and hard for me. But, ALAS!! I saw the square medallians sitting on the counter and a light bulb went off...why not stamp something on the metal tag and attach it to the medallian!!! How easy can that be!! The tutorial for the medallians can be found on Taylor's blog and a few posts down from this one on my blog. I used the Rubbernecker snowflake stamp and the ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts and Strano Designs. The tag was attached to the medallian with glue dots and I used Cool Caribbean and Riding Hood Red paper and ink.

Thanks for stopping by and now I am off to the post office...stayed up till 2:00 AM to finish my Christmas cards!!!!! Yahooooo!!
EDIT:
Ok, I couldn't stand the plain ornaments so I had to add a little bling. I think the next time I will run the cardstock through the cuttlebug before I use the scallop punch...that should add a little texture. I am going to work on a round one now.

Good morning!!! As you can see, I am still making Christmas cards. I am almost finished sending out my cards and I actually went shopping today!!! I may get everything finished before the 25th!!!

I just love this retired Stampin Up! set called Very Merry!! The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with copics, attached to the Baja Breeze and Black layers and then attached with dimensionals. The background paper is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection. The Stampendous sentiment, from Stampers Dream (thanks Michelle!!!) was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto the So Saffron card base. Scallops and ribbon finish it off.

Thanks for visiting this morning....off to finish addressing the rest of my Christmas cards!!

Belli Challenge #46 and Rubbernecker Blogger challenge #14

Good morning everyone!! It's another cold morning here in Central Texas....one would think we are having winter out there!!!

Today's Belli Challenge is to use wrapping paper to make a card. I had to dig deep to find this cute paper. What an easy peasy card to make!! I stamped the background with Rubbernecker Snowflakes using Riding Hood Red, stamped the Rubbernecker sentiment with Memento Black, added a few of the Riding Hood Red snowflakes, and distressed with Creamy Caramel. I added the Stampin Up! ribbon and a felt snowflake. I may have to make more of these...thanks for the great challenge, Chrissy!! Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful cards they designed using wrapping paper!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!! Remember to check out Chris' blog to see how you can win!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast, be sure to add CBC46 in the keywords section.

Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge #14

Today's Rubbernecker Blogger challenge is hosted by Shelly and her challenge to us is to create a Christmas Card with non-traditional colors. Well, ya can't get much more non-traditional that orange and black!!

I stamped the Rubbernecker Poinsettia with Basic Gray and embossed with Ranger Bridal Embossing Tinsel. The poinsettia was then colored with an aqua pen and ink pads. I used Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Going Gray, and a touch of Mellow Moss. Black rhinestones were added to the flower centers and along the side. The Martha Stewart Fern Punch was used with Pumpkin Pie and going Gray cardstock, the Rubbernecker sentiment was stamped with Memento Black, and the white cs was sponged with Pumpkin Pie. The layers were cutout with Nesties and attached with dimensionals. The beautiful ribbon and Basic Grey dp finish it off.

Why don't you join our challenge....upload your creations to you blog and/or online gallery and then post a link in the comment section on the Rubbernecker blog for all of us to see!! Use the Keywords RNBC14 when uploading to Splitcoast.
Our Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Be sure to visit their blogs to see all their beautiful non-traditional Christmas card projects!!

Splitcoast Color Challenge and The Double Dog Dare Challenge

Hello everyone!! It's 12:30PM and I finally finished these two cards....my house is a mess and I haven't had a shower but oh, well!!! I even have my cards done for tomorrow's Belli Challenge and the Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge...Whooho!!!
So now I have no excuse for not getting busy on my Christmas cards....today is the day!!!

The colors for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast today are Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Basic Gray. We could add a little not Quite Navy if we wanted to be brave. No NQN for me....not brave today!! Thanks, Emily for a great challenge!!
I stamped the Taylored Expression's adorable cupcake from her wonderful Home Sweet Home set with Memento Black and colored him with copics. I used a glue pen to go around the cupcakes face and the scarf and hat band and then dusted with Dazzling Diamonds. The snowflake stamp in the background from a retired SU set called Bundle Up, was stamped with Versamerk and embossed with white ep. A white gel pen was used to draw the snow.
The sentiment was stamped with Basic Gray ink, punched out with an oval punch, layered on a punched Basic Gray oval and attached with dimensionals. The Green Swirl Glitter Paper is from K&Co. and the Stampin Up! ribbon is the finishing touch.

The close up shows all the sparkle!!

This is for the Double Dog Dare Challenge I do each week with a wonderful group of SCS friends. This weeks hostess is Anne (jdmommy) and her challenge to us is to make a New Years card with some glitz and glam. Wouldn't ya know I don't have a single New Year's stamp but I did find this festive Stamps Happen, Inc. stamp called Mixed Coctails. I stamped the image with Memento Black and colored with copics. Dazzling Diamonds was added to the glass stems and a little on the rims. The sentiment from Stampabilities was stamped onto the chipboard piece with Memento Black and the chipboard was colored with a copic to match the background of the image.

The background papers are from Basic Grey's Gypsy and Ambrosia paper pads.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great Tuesday!!! I am off to shower and then hunker down to finish my Christmas cards....may the force be with me!!!

The Monthly Stamper's Dream Dreamy Challenge

Hi everyone!! We got back from Canton, Tx earlier today and I started working on this card. Then once Survivor started I could only work on it during the comercials. Did any of you watch the show?? I am sooo glad Bob won!!! Anyway.......I made this card for the monthly Stampers Dream Dreamy Challenge. The rules are as follows: make a card with mostly gray/black and add a splash of color with a little sparkle/bling. Because December weather can be gray and gloomy, let's brighten it up with a little color. The addition of a little white is ok, too. We are to upload the card to our blog or online gallery and add a link to the Stamper's Dream Blog. Use SDDC3 in the keywords section if uploading to Splitcoast. The winner will be drawn on Wednesday...check out Michelle's blog to see all the goodies!!
I used the adorable Penny Black stamp called Greetings from the Wise....stamped it with Basic Gray, colored it with an aqua painter and the BG ink pad, colored the hat with the Real Red marker and the eyes and feet with So Saffron and Yoyo Yellow markers. He was then cutout and attached with dimensionals. The branch from Impress Rubber stamps was stamped with Basic Gray, the snowflakes from the retired Stampin Up set called Bundle Up were stamped with Going Gray, and the sentiment from the retired SU set called Very Merry was stamped with Basic Gray. The layers were all cutout with Nestabilities, the dp is called Elegant from American Crafts, the Martha Stewart punched ferns were used around the sentiment, the ribbon is from Stampin Up!, and I added Dazzling Diamonds to the white areas on the hat.
Thanks for taking a peek tonight....I am off to bed!!! Maybe I can finish my Christmas cards and get a little laundry done tomorrow!! I will also finish decorating the dining room and the family room so I can upload more pictures. Don't ya just love Christmas!!!!!

My Christmas Tree

Good morning!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday!! I finally got my tree decorated...yeaaaaaa!!! I also got the rest of the living room and dining room finished...well, sorta. I still have to finish the family room and a few other odds and ends to complete but that's for another day!!

The arrrangement in the background is an old English pitcher and bowl. During the rest of the year I have a dried flower arrangement in it but at Christmas time, I add the poinsettias and other Christmas stuff. After Christmas I just take out the the Christmas stuff and I am ready for spring. That's my kind of decorating...easy peasy!!

These are a few of the ornaments...I can't stand to get rid of anything so I have ornaments on my tree that I have had for 30+ years. I even have a section ( at the botton) that houses all my DH's fishing ornaments. I know fishing and Victorian don't sound like they go together at all but, hey...what ever works, right!! Keeps peace in the family!!! You can see the green frog in the first picture.

I am off to visit friends today...have a great weekend and I will have more Christmas pictures tomorrow evening!!
