Double Your Pleasure!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I have had such a wonderful morning....my DH fixed breakfast and ran the sweeper so I could get my Inspiration Challenge card finished and my DD Holly and her DH John brought over an early birthday present...a wire rack to hold 12x12 papers....WHOOHOO !!! Can't get much better than that!!! Anyway.....


The inspiration for the IC challenge today comes from the famous prom dresses by Faviana. This is the one I took my inspiration from. I love the yellows, reds, and browns in the dress...sooo rich looking!!

This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simple challenge to *Let the sun shine in* and use yellow in our design. I was the hostess for the Double Dog Dare challenge this week and my dare was to make a Mother's Day card with clothing in the design. I hope I got all the challenge criteria straignt!!

The Rubbernecker images from the Fashion Icon set #456 were all stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on Prism papers. The background designer paper and the gloves are from the Linnie Bell Collection by Pebbles. The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker and the ribbon is by May Arts. Don't look to close at the sewing....I need a lot more practice sewing a straight line!!! The yellow background layer and the hat were run through the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot folder for a little texture.

This Mother's Day card is for my DIL Christina who loves shoes and purses!!

This is the card I made for Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS to use black on a card.

I use some gorgeous paper by 7 Gypsies called Gypsy Market from Rubbernecker and the Inkadinkado bird in a nest stamp from Stamper's Dream. The image was stamped on More Mustard with Archival Jet Black, embossed with clear ep, and sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The image was cutout with two of the Label 4 Nesties to create a frame effect. A black matt was cutout by hand around the outside and the inner section was popped up on dimensionals. I used sheer black ribbon and some self-adhesive crystal flourishes for the embellies.

The close up shows the crystal flourishes and

a better look at the sponging.....making the background a little darker helps to pop the bird.

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful Monday!!! I was busy washing clothes and cleaning....I did find a little time to make a card for last weeks Double Dog Dare challenge I do with several SCS friends. Anne (jdmommy) was the hostess and she challenged us to make a card with red, white, and black. Now I'm all caught up, just in time for a new challenge tomorrow!! Please join us in the challenge....be sure to add DDC to the keywords section when you upload to Splitcoast so we can find you cards. You can see all the DDC cards here.

This is also for the StampinB's second challenge to use diecuts. You will have to check out their new blog....lots of talent there!!!

The Inkadinkado Rose image was stamped with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep. It was then colored with Twinkling H20's, dusted with Dazzling Diamonds, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. I cut the black circular rhinestones in half and attached them to the side of the image.

The background paper is called Daisy Chain by Imaginisce and the luscious May Arts red ribbon is from Rubbernecker Stamps.

I made this for my DD Holly and her DH John.....they lost their 12 year old fur baby, Queenie, last week. She was such a sweet friend and will be missed!!

Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge #13 and Belli Challenge #45

Howdy everyone!! Burrrrr...it's a cold night here in Central Texas!!! The wind is blowing, rain is falling, and the temp is dropping.....yikes!! I better stay inside and stamp!!

This weeks Rubbernecker Blogger challenge hosted by the bad girl herself, Sherry Cheever, is to make a card any shape other than the standard 4.25 x 5.5 and ADD snowflakes!!! My card is 4x4 inches and features two of my favorite Rubbernecker stamps....the Snowflake and the Merry Christmas sentiment!
The snowflake was stamped with Versamark onto the Baja Breeze paper and embossed with white ep. It was then cut out and attached to the Stampin Up! paper background with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Black onto the Whisper White cs, cut out with Nestabilities, and also attached with dimensionals. Stampin Up red ribbon, red rhinestones, and scallops at the bottom finished it off. This was another card that I used scraps to create...I haven't cut into a new piece of designer paper or cardstock for several days now!!!

The sweet little Inkadinkado image was stamped three times, once with Ruby Red, once with Kiwi Kiss, and once with Not Quite Navy onto Whisper White cs. The hat from the Ruby Red image and the scarf from the Kiwi Kiss image were cut out and attached to the Not Quite Navy snowman. The nose was colored with the Only Orange marker and the image was then cut out and attached with dimensionasl to the 2 inch square piece of Basic Grey Dasher dp that was stamped with the Hero Arts Snowflake Swirl background stamp with Not Quite Navy ink. The sentiment from a cute little Studio G Clear Stamps set sent to me last week by my Double Dog Dare Stampin friend Beverly (beestamper) (thanks Beverly!!) was stamped with Not Quite Navy onto Whisper White and then layered with punched circles of Ruby Red and Not Quite Navy. The snow is a left over piece from the punched out area of a white square medallian I made earlier today. Ribbon, scalloped layers at the bottom, and Liquid Pearls finish off the design.




I added pictures of how I punched out the medallian. I certainly didn't create this design but I can't for the life of me remember who's blog I first saw this technique. If anyone knows, please let me know and I will gladly add a link.

I used a 2 3/4 inch square piece of cardstock and lined it up in the middle of the Stampin Up! Scalloped punch










Line it up in the middle on each side and punch.










By keeping the cardstock in the middle you create the connecting corners.














Taa daa....sooo easy!! You can use other border punches you have, just experiment with the size of the square piece.

Sketch Challenge 195

Thanks, Roxie, for the great sketch today on Splitcoast. I flipped it to better showcase the Inkadinkado image. The image was stamped with Basic Gray and embossed with clear ep. Some of the areas on the image were colored with copics for a little extra color. The BEAUTIFUL SEI paper is called Jolie Chocolat. I was going to put pearls in the corners but I forgot...oh well, that's what happens when I get in too big a hurry to upload !! I used my new EK Success Flourish Punch from Gina K.
