Birthday Wishes

Good morning everyone....I am having such a great day!!! I'm still in my pj's and have been stamping all morning...can't get any better than that!!! I need to get my rear in gear because I am going to Round Top this weekend with my girlfriends...Whoohoo!!!! It's an antiques fair that is spread out in several towns  south east of Austin. Some dealers set up large circus type tents in fields and fill it full of antiques and others have large buildings....it's a bit overwhelming but exciting at the same time!!! We will be staying in a bed and breakfast Sat. night and shop again on Sunday...I won't be able to walk for days when I get home but I'll have 6 months to recover till the next one...LOL!!! Anyway....
I made this card for the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast to use a blocked background with patterned paper. Papers from Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg were used for the blocks and the sentiment is from an A muse set called Contemporary Greetings. Sewing was done around the block edges and the flower was made with a Stampin Up! die...the layers were embossed with the Dotted Swiss folder and the leaves were made from a Spellbinder's die. Twine and Candy Dots finish it off. The Mojo Monday #208 sketch was used for the layout and I used the Color Throwdown colors: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Chocolate Chip. This is also for:
1. Paper Crafting Journey - use punches or diecute
2. Scrapbook Sisters - leaves
3. Deep Ocean Challenge - Happy Birthday

Recipe:Stamps: Amuse
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Vanilla, Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Candy Dots, Twine, SU Flower Dies, Spellbinders Leaf Die, Sewing Machine

The skin was colored with copics, sewing was done around the background edges, a doily was added to the lower half and lace was added to the side of the image. The sentiment was from Rubbernecker's Fashion Icon's set #456  and  the seam binding, button, and twine finish it off.

Flowers and Foliage

Good morning everyone....hope all is well in your little corner of the world!! We are still hot and dry in Central Texas...so nothing is new here!!! I will be going to another Shoebox Swap with my DD Holly in a couple of weeks so I have been working on my card packets. This swap is in Georgetown which is close to Austin....lots of my SCS friends will be there so I am really looking forward to it!! Anyway....I made this card last weekend for the Inspiration challenge on Splitcoast. Stef found us the most AWESOME blog to find inspiration...it's called Creature Comforts Inspiration Blog and I took my inspiration from this fabulous group of kraft and vanilla pictures.
Rubbernecker's Wildflower Background  was embossed with white embossing powder on the kraft and the vanilla layer was added on top for a frame. The sentiment is from RN's Wildflower set and the leaves were made with Spellbinder's leaf die. The Prima flower and gold cording finish it off.

I made this card last Friday for the Free 4 All Challenge on Splitcoast....we were to make a special acknowledgement card and mail it to someome special. My DD Holly helped me feed the horses while my DH was away so I made her a thank you card. This is also for the Queen for a Day challenge to honor my sweet friend Liz ( lazylizard)....she has a fantastic gallery..over 2000 cards to choose from...WOW!! I chose to case her CAS131card. I flipped the sketch, changed the stamps, added the sentiment layer, and seam binding. The fern from Rubbernecker's Floral Silhouette set #467 was stamped with different shades of green. Then RN's Weed #497-06 stamp was colored with Old Olive and Regal Rose markers before stamping on the cardstock. The RN sentiement #565-18 and the seam binding finish it off.

Thanks for visiting...have a great day!!!

TLC344 Cover Chipboard With Paper

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast!! I love to use chipboard and what better way to decorate it than to cover it with patterned paper...easy peasy challenge this week!!
First, I lay the chipboard piece on the pattern paper and draw around the shape and cut it out. I like to use a glue stick to adhere the paper to the chipboard and then I use an emery board to sand the edges. I have a real small, skinny one for the small curves edges...works great!!

My project is a chipboard coaster wall hanging...the cute little Maya Road chipboard tree and sun were covered with various papers as was the background. The sentiment from the Whiff of Joy 2009 Fall Stamp Kit was cut up and adhered to the sky area and the rick rack, leaf buttons laced with twine, and the clip with ribbon finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Dream Valley Challenges - buttons
2. ECP Challenge - use 6 different pattern papers (I used a different paper for the tree trunk, tree leaves, sky, grass, sun, and sun ring
3. Just Some Lines Challenge - fall colors
4. Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge - Autumn days
5. Crafting for all seasons Challenge - Fall colors

Thanks for stopping by...hope to see your projects in the TLC gallery!!!

Plant Smiles

Hello everyone...Guess what!!!! We finally got a little rain last night...Whoohoo!!!! It wasn't much but we will take anything we can get!! I ran out outside and put all my plants on the deck so they could get a little drink. They were all happy and perky this morning!! That's why I pulled out my Paper Smooches Perky Plants set to play with today!!! The adorable flowers were all paper pieced with Making Memories Flower Patch paper. This is my entry for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge!! This week it is an inspiration challenge and I took my inspiration from the beautiful colors of the bracelet/necklace.
This is also for the Sunday Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast which honors Linda (morningsun47)....she has such  a fabulous gallery to explore!!! I chose her IC260 Bloom with Happiness card as my inspiration. I kept the same basic layout and colors but changed the stamps, placement of the sentiment, and used patterned paper instead of the rack rack.

A Rose is a Rose

Good morning everyone!!! I hope you have had a great week...mine has been busy with lots of *stuff*. I did get to see The Help which was an awesome movie!! I really want to read the book, now...I have been bookless for a few days and I am really bummed!! Do any of you have a suggestions for good reading?? Anyway....I did a little stamping last night for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger using one of my favorite Rubbernecker Stamps...Rose #SKU:529-02. Garden Green and Tempting Turquoise markers were used to color the stamp before stamping it on white cardstock. It was then colored with reinkers and an aqua painter. The background is a diecut cut from Garden Green cardstock with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die and it was embossed with the dotted swiss embossing folder.  Sewing was done around the background white layer and it was also embossed with the fleur de lis folder.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Four Crafty Chicks - embossing
2. Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge - flowers
3. Sweet Stamps  - stitching

For this card I used the Rose image again...it was stamped on patterned paper, cutout with oval Nestabilities, and colored with Copics. The background was created using Rubbernecker's Wild Garden Frame #SKU: 515-03 . It was stamped on the Prism Frosted Orange cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black and glamed up with some lace, a black diecut flourish, gold cording, black pearls, and a corrugated buttefly.

This is for a few challenges:
1. Little Miss Muffet Challenge - things with wings (butterfly)
2. Flutterby Wednesday - anything goes as long as it has a butterfly, angel, or fairy
3. Anything Goes Challenge blog - vintage/shabby chic

Aren't these just the cutest little brown eggs evah!!!!! We gather about 5-6 a day now and they are getting bigger. In a couple of weeks we will start feeding the younger hens (Rhode Islend Reds) the special laying feed and then they will start laying eggs. With 35 hens, we should have plenty of eggs to share with family and friends...tooo fun!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful Friday!!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use String. You can use string in a button, make a bird's nest out of it, stem for flowers, tree branches, roof of a house, etc......what ever your little heart desires!! Remember, the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!

This is the #4 Halloween set for my Grands...6 more to go!! Papers from Stampin Up!, My Minds Eye, and Echo Park were used along with Stamps from Rubbernecker's Halloween Set #1 SKU:743 and Rubbernecker's Halloween Set #3  SKU:475 for the sentiment. The witch, tree, bats, from set 1 and the sentiment from set 3 were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. A circle was punched in a piece of paper, laid over the witch and sponged with really rust for a harvest moon. Baker's Twine was used for the Belli Challenge....it was hand sewn in a zig zag pattern on the patterned paper, tied around the layers and tied onto a ghost charm, and tied into the buttons on the ribbon.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Bearly Mine Challenge - buttons

TLC342 - Fill the Opening

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have something a little more challenging...it's called *Fill the Opening*!! The main requirement is that the cut out images need to be adhered to each other and the sides of the opening with backing shapes for support and when the project is finished, you still need to see through the hole around the images.  Here is a tutorial to help you visually with the details:
Cut a hole in the front of your card....a Nestabilities die was used for this card.
You will need stamps that you can cutout....stamp two of each so you have one for the back support.
The Rubbernecker Stamps were stamped on a piece of white cardstock with Pear Pizzazz, Calypso, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and cutout.
The sentiment was adhered to the front first...
Next, the large shell was adhered to the edges of the card and to the sentiment.....

Then, the second large shell was adhered to the backside for support.
This is what the back of the front looks like.....
The fish was then added to the front making sure that the sides overlap the edges of the card and the large shell for support.
The second fish was adjusted so I could still see it from the front yet be able to adhere it to the sides in the back ...again for support. I also wanted to make sure that some open space was still visable so the fish looked like they were floating.
The small shells were added to the top, adhered to both the card front and the sentiment and the second shells were adhered to the backside.
I wasn't to happy with the inside of the front....I decided if I used symmetrical stamps, the backside would be stamped, also, with the second support cutout image....sooooo...I made a second card.

This card features flower dies from Stampin Up! and leaf diecuts from Spellbinders.

The flowers on the front were backed with a second flower on the back....touching each other and the card stock for support. Glue and glue dots were used to adhere the backs.

This is the finished inside....I like it a lot better!!

The bird diecut from stampin Up! and the Rubbernecker sentiment called Music #SKU: 582-05 finish it off.
Thank you so much for stopping by....have fun with the Challenge....I can't wait to see what you create!!!!
