Featured Stamper Challenge

Good morning, everyone!! I hope you are having a great day today....I couldn't sleep much last night so what is a girl to do but get up and stamp!!!
The Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast today is none other than Dawn (Flowergal36) who is such a sweetie and a fabulous stamper all rolled into one!!! Congrats, girly!!!
The card I cased was called Fright Night. I kept the same layout and used stripped paper on the top of the card but changed the theme, colors, papers, Nesties, stamps, and added the ribbon and snowflakes. I stamped the adorable penguin from Kim Hughes' Christmas Critters by Cornish Heritage Farms twice with Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink from Rubbernecker Stamps ( I have found that the Black Soot ink does a fabulous job of complete coverage on solid stamps and it is wet enough to emboss).One image was cutout and attached over the bottom one with dimensionals. The *snow* is torn SU dp and the snowflakes are from Fanciful Flakes by Clear Dollar Stamps. The little Santa cap was stamped, colored with a red copic, cutout, and attached with a glue dot. The sentiment, from the same CHF's set was also stamped with Black Soot, cut out with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. SU ribbon and punched snowflakes with a Dew Drop center finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by this morning...have a great Sunday!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek

I am really excited to show you the projects I made for the Clear Dollar Stamps December 1 new release stamps. The new sets I used are called Snow Diamonds Wheel and Snowflakes Tags and they both will be available for purchase on December 1.

The Snow Diamonds Wheel is a clear acrylic stamp that can be used on a wheel or flat on an acrylic block. The matching tag set has everything you will need to make you Christmas tags.

The Design Team challenge this month was to make a gift ensemble and a card to go with it. The card was made with the Snow Diamonds wheel stamped with Bashful Blue onto Bashful Blue paper. The snowflakes were cutout with Nestabilities, decorated with red rhinestones and a punched snowflake for the center circle. This was so simple to do yet it looks very involved! The sentiment was stamped with one of the sentiments from the Snowflake Tags set, punched out with the word window punch, and attached under the fabric snowflake with a glue dot.

The ensemble consists of a candle, stack of 3 tins, nugget tin, small gift box, and a large round tin with a paper band.
Candle: I stamped a piece of Real Red cardstock with Versamark, used the snowflake stamp from the Snowflake Tags set, and embossed with white ep. It was then wrapped around the candle along with a piece of Basic Grey's Dasher dp and secured with glue dots. Twine was then wrapped around the candle and several pieces of crimped red paper strips were added to the bow.
Stack of 3 tins: Basic Grey's Dasher paper was cut to fit around the base of each tin, stamped with the snowflake from the tag set, and secured with glue dots. Showflakes were then stamped on white cs with Bashful Blue, cutout with round punches, layered with Real Red cs, attached to the front of the tin and glammed up with the red rhinestones and the red gingham ribbon.
Red Snowflake box: This was embossed like the snowflakes on the candle and tied with the gingham ribbon.
Large round tin and the Nugget box: The round snowflake layers were finished the same as the card using the same papers, punches, Nesties, and rhinestones.
The tag was made by stamping on the metal edged tag using the Snowflake Tags set. A hole was punched at the top and silver cording was used to hang it from the bow.
I really had fun making this project...now I just have to figure out who to give it to!!!
Thanks for looking today....hope you have a wonderful day!!!

I am in Houston to help Laura with arrangements and to be with her Mother. This is such a difficult time for Laura, Brian, and their family...please keep them in your prayers.

Life is so fleeting and precious....let your loved ones know every day how much you love and cherish them. Thanks for your kindness and support during this diffucult time.

Inspiration Challenge and Double Dog Dare Challenge

Good morning everyone!! Hope you are having a great weekend!! Miss Caitlyn and I are having a lazy Saturday morning....she did sleep long enough this morning so I could make a card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast and the Double Dog Dare challenge I do each week with a group of SCS friends. The inspiration challenge was taken from the TV show Mad Men.....the fashion, furniture and advertising design of the series set in a Madison Avenue advertising agency in the 1960’s. These are the dresses I took my inspiration from...I just love the Not Quite Navy and Close to Cocoa colors together. The DDC challenge, hosted by Michelle (sf9erfan), was to case a card from the new SCS catty. I decided to case the card on page 45 with the To You and Your's set. I changed the colors, added some layers, ribbon, and bugged the bottom part of the card. The paper is called Frost by Memory Box and the snowflakes are from Fanciful Flakes by Clear Dollar Stamps.

Now we are off to take a bath...have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting today!!!

Recipe: Stamps: To You and Yours, Clear Dollar Stamps Fanciful Flakes

Paper: Not Quite Navy, Close to Cocoa, Memory Box dp, White

CJ's First Basketball Game!!!

We went to my oldest DGD CJ's first middle school basketball game last night. I am not a real basketbball fan but boy was I thrilled to see CJ out there on the court!!! I think I will become a real fan in record time!!

She was waiting in the center area to go into the game. Ya know, when I was in school I was always the last kid chosen for the PE games because I was TERRIBLE at sports!!! So I am sooo impressed that CJ is lovin to play sports!!

There she is out on the court making trouble for the other team!!!

There is CJ's fan club...Mom Laura, Brother Cole, and Sister Autumn.

Sadly, the best team lost but never fear...tomorrow is another day!!!

Today was spent taking Dad to the doctor and then I took Mom and Dad to Sam's Club. We checked prices on some of his medicines at the Pharmacy and they were cheaper there than at Walmart or at the VA. If you want to save some money, check out their Pharmacy prices....why pay more???

We will be babysitting for our 1 year old DGD, Caitlyn, tonight and tomorrow. Not sure if I will get to sneak in any stamping till Sunday. I will upload some pics of Caitlyn tomorrow....she is such a little doll (does that sound like a proud Grandma??)!!!

Thanks for visiting and letting a proud old Grandma brag a little!!!

The November Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni Challenge

Good morning everyone!!! The November DD/DDA challenge, hosted by Sharon Harnist (StamperSharon), is to make a Thanksgiving table decoration or a thank you for the hostess of the thanksgiving dinner. The only *twist* is to use a heart somewhere on the project. I spent off and on all day on this thank you card....I couldn't seem to make up my mind about the paper, layout, image...I can't believe I actually finished this!!!

The Lockhart image from Ellen Hutson, LLC was stamped with Memento Black and colored with copics. I added crystal effects to the globe to make it look like glass but it is difficult to see in this picture. Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie were sponged in the background and I added the little dark green crystal heart to the sentiment.

The close up shows the shine of the globe. The scalloped cardstock is from Brazzill and the papers are from Stampin Up!, Daisy D's, and K&Co. The sentiment is from the Girlfriend set by Crafty Secrets.

The rust colored ribbon from Hobby Lobby and the Primas, button, and paper leaves are all layered together with glue dots. I borrowed the idea to tie a bow with the twine through the button from Amy (Pickletree)...thanks, Amy, for the inspiration!!
Recipe: Stamps: Lockhart, Crafty Secrets
Paper: Brazzill, Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Daisy D's, K&Co., Stampin Up!
Ink: Memento Black, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Button, Primas, Twine, Paper Leaves, Rubbon, Nestabilities, Dark Green Crystal Heart, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects
Thanks for visiting!!! We will be heading south today to have Thanksgiving lunch with our DGD Autumn at her school. You will never guess what her special request was ....she wants us to stop at Panda Express and pick up Orange Chicken and rice...I guess we can forget turkey and dressing!!! Have a great day!!!!!
EDIT: Ok, all you DD/DDA's...just wanted to clarify the time of this posting....the timer on my blog is off by about 3 hours. I had to set the scheduled post at 4AM for it to post at 7AM.....just didn't want y'all to think I cheated!!!!!

Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge #10

Good morning everyone!! Today's Rubbernecker Blogger's Challenge, brought to us by Shelly Kuck, is to use glitter and sparkle in honor of the upcoming holiday season. Don't ya just love glitter...especially when it gets all over everything!!! We went to see my parents for a few minutes last night and after I hugged my Mom, she was all sparklie, too!!! Anyway.....
I used this sweet little snowgirl called Ms. Mann by Rubbernecker, stamped her with Memento Black, colored with copics, used a glue pen around the edges of the body, gloves, and hat, and dusted it with Dazzling Diamonds. The edge of the sentiment layers was sponges with Bashful Blue and covered with Dazzling Diamonds, too. A Martha Stewart punch was used for the border and the snowflakes, buttons, ribbon and cording finish it off.

Our Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Be sure to visit their blogs to see all their sparkle and glitz!

Belli Challenge #43 to Use Cording

The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723) to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!!
Anyone can play, so get out your scraps, stamps, and embellies!! Check out Chris' blog for details on how to win the challenge!!

The Belli Challenge this week is to use cording on your card. I just love to use cording especially with ribbon...gives it such an elegant look!! I still have some Stampin Up! retired cording that I have been hoarding!! I stamped these adorable birds from Pink Poison with Memento Black and colored them with Copic Markers. They were then cutout and attached with dimensionals. Martha Stewart punched ferns were attached under the birds to act as pine boughs. The sentiment from Rubbernecker was stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink onto Blush Blosson cs, sponged with Cameo Coral, cutout with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals.

The gold cording was wrapped around my hand several times and them tied together in the middle. The ends were cut and flaired just a little.
The sheer coral ribbon from Hobby Lobby was first tied around the top layer and tied in a knot around the gold cording. The bow was then attached over the top of the knot with a glue dot. It looks sooo elegant but not very practical for mailing!! I will have to hand deliver this one!!

The star is from the Rubbernecker Tree with Snow stamp.....It was also stamped with Memento Black onto white cs, colored with a copic, cut off the top of the tree image and attached with a glue dot. The background was sponged with Summer Sun prior to gluing down the star.
The Ribbon is from Pinkhedge Hog Paper Crafts and the Prima and leaves are from Michael's. Pretty simple but I wanted the colors to take center stage!!

Double Dog Dare Challenge

Each Week I do a challenge with a group of SCS friends called the Double Dog Dare challenge. Each week, one of us challenges the group to make a card with certain criteria. This week Charlene (LilLuvsStampin) challenged us to make a card that would Razzle Dazzle us with lots of sparkle. I used this adorable Q.T. Hooty Owl image from Pink Cat Studio. He was stamped with Memento Black, colored with copics, cutout with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. I paper pieced the hat with SU dp, went over the cross hatching on the paper with a glue pen, and dusted it with Dazzling Diamonds. I also covered the green areas on the scarf with glue and added DD for the sparkle this sweet little guy sooo deserves!! The sentiment from the same set was also stamped with Memento Black and the pine bough image from the All That Glitters set by Flourishes, LLC was stamped with Old Olive. I went a little crazy with the snowflakes....I couldn't stop punching them out!!!

You can see the other DDC cards in our Splitcoast
Gallery.

Edit: Well, folks, guess what I just discovered....I was supposed to add gold or silver embossing to this, too...yikes!!! I went ahead and added gold embossing to the 3 O's in the sentiment so I will be legal when I upload this to SCS tomorrow. I am tooo tired to redo my pictures tonight so I guess I will have 2 versions of this card. I wonder if the other DD girls will discover my challenge mistake!!! Don't tell!!!!!!

You can find the other DDC stampers listed on my side bar.

Thanks soooo much for visiting today.....have a great day and hope to see you tomorrow!!!

Birds of a Feather

I have fallen in love with the ADORABLE Pink Cat Studio owl stamps called Q.T.Hooty Owl. The girls are showing off their fabulous hats....I need to do another card for my friend who is a Red Hatter!! Wouldn't they look cute with red and purple hats!!! Anyway.....that's for another day!!
The Featured Stamper on Splitcoast today is Kendra. She has an awesome gallery and it was really dificult to choose just one card to case!! I finally settled on this card. I just love the layout and the brads along the side!! The image was stamped with Memento Black and colored with copics. I tilted the image, changed the colors, papers, stamps, added the ribbon horizantal instead of vertical, and added a layer in the background. I used the wonderful new Urban Prairie paper by Basic Grey...it is sooo sweet with the butterflies and bee's.
I will be painting the ceiling in the craft room today so we can get the lights up. Then we can paint the walls tomorrow....EEEEEEEEEE!!! Can you tell I am excited!!!!!!!!
Thanks for visiting and hope you have a wonderful Sunday!!! If you aren't doing anything, you can always come over and bring a paint brush!!!!!!!!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday, everyone!!! Hope you had a great day!! I took my Dad for his eye exam today, had lunch with Mom and Dad, and then went shopping. I fixed spaghetti for supper, stamped a little, watched some TV, and got a wonderful foot rub from my DH. Now it's time to post a few pictures.

I made this birthday card for a friend who is just a little girl at heart. The Rubbernecker image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Black. After the image was colored with copics, both were cut out with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. The background paper came from a stack of scraps from my DD, the pearls are from Flourishes, the ribbon from Papertrey Ink, and the light green paper is from Prism Papers. I used my new Stampin Up! scallop border punch at the bottom...it really works great...not like the Martha Stewart border punches that are so dang hard to punch!!
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Pixie Pink, White, So Saffron, Prism Light Green
Ink: Memento Balck
Accessories: Copics, Pearls, PTI Ribbon, Nestabilities, Stampin Up! Border Punch, Dimensionals

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just look at what I recieved in the mail today!!!!!!! Isn't this gorgeous!!!!! Jerri Kay is the most talented watercolor artist in the stamping world today...just my expert opinion!!!!! Just look at the gold embossing and the intensity of color she achieved....OMG, you should see this in real life....absolutely stunning!!!
Jerri also sent this AWESOME suitcase card from the Dirty Dozen Stay-cation Gallery. I made a card for a dream trip to Africa and Jerri made a whole set of luggage to go with my card. She even added my initial at the bottom!!! You should see all the texture and attention to detail on this....pure perfection!!! I will be framing these beauties and will proudly display them on my craft room wall!!!
Thanks soooo much, Jerri...you not only made my day but my whole week!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Speaking of the craft room....they put the texture on the walls today and Sunday afternoon my DH and I will start painting. After painting the ceiling and walls, we will finish the trim, do the floor, and hang the cupboards. I may get to move in by Dec. 1st. Whoohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for coming to visit today......I will be going to the OWC (Officer's Wives Club) Bazaar on Fort Hood tomorrow. My friend, Barb, who's DH is also retired US Army, and I have been going to this every year for the past 10 or so years. I usually find several Christmas presents and spend way toooo much money but what the heck...it's only once a year!!!

Hope you do something fun tomorrow, too!!!

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Good Morning!!!! The Ways to Use It challenge today on Splitcoast, hosted by Kim Hughes, was to use watercolor paper somewhere on our card. I decided to emboss the watercolor paper with gold ep and water color the Rubbernecker Christmas Candle with reinkers. The sentiment, also from Rubbernecker, was stamped with Versamark, embossed with red ep, cut out with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. You will note that the edge of the image was cutout...well, I gotta confess. I tried to watercolor at the bottom so the image looked like it was sitting on something but I made a mess soooooo, I simply cut it off and pretended that it was supposed to look like that....one of my many cover up secrets!!! To finish it off I used this gorgeous gold ribbon from Stampers Dream.
Thanks for visiting today and hope to see you tomorrow!!!
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, SU dp, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Versamark, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel, So Saffron, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Garden Green, Close to Cocoa

Rubbernecker Bloggers Challenge #9 and Splitcoast Sketch Challenge

Good morning everyone!!! Today's Rubbernecker Bloggers Challenge #9 is an inspiration challenge brought to us by Broni Holcombe. Check out the Rubbernecker Blog for a look at the inspiration photo. You will note that my card doesn't look anything like the picture. So, this is what happened. Since I don't have any fern stamps, I thought I would take my inspiration from the colors. Since the colors looked like Christmas colors with the greens, reds, and blues, I decided to use the Carolers stamp and combined with the Christmas Block 52. This also qualified for the Sketch challenge on Splitcoast. Don't ya just love to combine challenges!!!???!!! Anyway..................The images were stamped with Memento Black onto white cardstock and then colored with copics. I know the card would look just fine without ribbon but I couldn't help myself...I just love this plaid ribbon and it actually begged me to use it... ribbon rules!!! I also stamped the Night of Navy background with Rubbernecker snowflakes and Versamark and then embossed with white ep. You might not be able to see them but I did stamp some snowflakes behind the carolers with Bashful Blue and sponged a little NON around the edges. I used a white gel pen on the snow at the bottom but I don't think that shows up either....oh, well, you will have to use your imagination!!!

Our Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Be sure to visit their blogs to see their take on the inspiration piece.

Belli Challenge #42

The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723) to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!!
Anyone can play, so get out you scraps, stamps, and embellies!! Check out Chris' blog for details on how to win the challenge!!
The Belli Challenge this week was to make gift tags. With Christmas right around the corner, I decided to make a couple of Christmas tags using Rubbernecker stamps.

The images on both tags were stamped with Memento Black and colored with Copics.

Stocking:
After the stocking was colored, the snowflakes were stamped on the background with Versamark, embossed with clear ep, and the
background was then sponged with Cool Caribbean.

The white fur was covered with Pearl White Lumiere using a small brush and then Dazzling Diamonds was lightly dusted on top. Big eyelets and fiber finish both of the tags.

Tree Tag:
The small tree was cutout and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment was also stamped with Memento Black, the layers were cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. Red Liquid Pearls was applied to all the little dots on both trees. The snowflake stamp was used with Soft Sky ink to stamp the background.

Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the tags they designed!! You will find lots of awesome Christmas ideas!! Remember to check out Chris' blog to see how you can win!!

Arrrr ye mateys, it’s Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker. Hop on over to the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog so you don’t miss those Design Team Members who are offering up Rubbernecker Bucks today. WHOOHOO!! …..I’M ONE OF THEM!! So leave me a comment telling me all about your favorite stamping technique and I’ll choose the winner of a $10.00 Rubbernecker coupon on Wednesday morning using a random drawing. Remember, you can win free stamps, too, so head over to the Rubbernecker blog for all the deets!! Our Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Be sure to visit their blogs:
I used the faux embossing technique on my card today. You can see the tutorial for this technique on the Rubbernecker Blog. Fired Brick Ranger Distress Ink was sponged on the white cardstock and then it was stamped using the How Do I Love Thee stamp misted with water and dried with the heat tool. Since the Distress inks are water based, stamping with water will lift the color and leave a white impression when dry. The Poinsettia was stamped three times with the Fried Brick, once on the background and twice on a piece of white cardstock and embossed with clear ep. The poinsettias on the white cs were colored with Fried Brick using the ink pad and an aqua pen, both poinsettias and the background were misted with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. When dry, the poinsettias were then cut out and layered on top of the one stamped on the background, attached with dimensionals, and pearls were added to the centers. The sentiment was stamped with Black Soot and the ribbon and pearls finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Handsom Hunter, Whisper White, Black, The Paper Studio dp
Ink: Ranger Distress Inks Fried Brick and Black Soot
Accessories: Pearls, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Clear ep, Perfect Pearls
Thanks for visiting today and have fun on the Treasure Hunt!!!

Double Dog Dare Challenge

What a great day this turned out to be....I have been stamping all day long.....Whoohoo!!!

Fran (Francie G.) was the hostess for the DDC challenge I do each week with a group of wonderful SCS freinds. This week Fran challenged us to make a card using the bleach technique anywhere on our card. I thought these adorable birds by Pink Poison would work perfectly!! I also wanted to use this gorgeous paper by SEI called Poppy so I matched the cardstock for the birds to the dp. I used Bravo Burgundy and Ruby Red...strange colors to use together but they matched the dp pretty good!! The birds were stamped with Versamark and embossed with silver ep. I then poured a little bleach from the bleach stick onto a plastic lid, using an old dried up blender pen, and colored in some areas on both birds. It looked sooo awesome when the color began to lift....I had to go over the areas a couple of times to get an even lift. The sentiment from the Girlfriends stamp set by Crafty Secrets was stamped with Memento Black onto Whiper White and the layers were all cut out with Nestabilities. The beautiful ribbon was from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts.

Recipe: Stamps: Pink Poison, Crafty Secrets

Paper: White, Spring Moss from PTI, Bravo Burgundy, Ruby Red, Poppy bu SEI

Ink: Versamark, Memento Black

Accessories: Silver ep, Bleach, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thanks for visiting again and hope to see you tomorrow!!!

Good morning everyone....it's still morning here anyway for at least 30 minutes!!! I am moving kinda slow today...we had our big November Birthday party yesterday and it pooped out this old Grandma!! We had lots of games, presents, and good stuff to eat!!! I will upload some pictures later today!! Anyway..............

The Try a New Technique challenge on Splitcoast today was to make a Christmas Tree box. Lynn provided us with a template designed by Brenda Quintana a/k/a Qbee that you can print off on the computer. Such a quick and easy little project!! I printed my template off on a piece of Paper Studio dp, cut it out, and put it together according to the tutorial. I added the Prima Poinsettias and a greeting from the Say it With Flowers stamp set designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K. Designs to finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: Say it With Flowers
Papers: White, Real Red, Paper Studio dp
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Primas, Brad, Ribbon

I also completed my circle medallian project from last weeks Try a new Technique challenge. I can't believe it took me a week to get it finished!!! This is the link to Becca's blog for the medallian tutorial. The poinsettia from the A Year of Flowers stamp set designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs was colored with Twinkling H2O's, cut out, and attached with dimensionals. Tiny pearls were added to the center of the flower and larger ones were added around the outside of the medallian. When I took the guard off the Wrought Iron Corner punch it broke in two!! (I guess it is now a permenant medallian punch)!! All the medallian layers were cut out with Nestabilities. The sentiment from the Clear Dollar Stamps set called Holly Builder was stamped with Memento Black and the layers were cut out with Nestabilities. I used the Holly Cuttlebug folder on the Hunter Green background....you can barely see it on the right side. Be sure to give the medallian project a try....it looks soooo pretty!!

Recipe: Stamps: A Year of Flowers, Holly Builder
Paper: Vanilla, Pixie Pink, Baja Breeze, Hunter Green, Soft Sky, SU DP
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Twinkling H2O's, Pearls, Nestabilities, Wrought Iron Corner Punch, Ribbon, Cuttlebug

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a wonderful week!!!

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today comes from the fun and playful clothing at Boden USA. I took my inspiration from the soft colors in the girls pj's. The colors are soft blues, pinks, greens and yellows. I stamped the sweet little Rachelle Anne Miller stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Bashful Blue was sponged around the tree. The paper by K&Co. called Swell Noel Ornament Glitter Paper was layered on Regal Rose cs, the card base was Bashful Blue, and the ribbon was from Michaels. Thanks for coming to visit today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! I'm off to the garden to give a little love to my poor forgotten flowers.

Taylor's Cupcake Challenge

I just had to make one more card today. This is for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. I just love the sketch and it was perfect for this awesome Northwoods Rubber Stamp I bought from Stampers Dream. If you haven't been to Michelle's store, you are in for a real treat!!! Check it out...she has lots of fabulous stuff and wonderful service!!!
The image was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Copic Markers. Then Soft Sky was sponged on around the colored images. Pearl White Lumiere was brushed on over the snow areas and a little was stippled on the pine boughs. The edges were distressed a little with the distressing tool.
The ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts and the background paper is by Stampin Up! The scalloped paper is from the Wassail collection by Basic Grey. Thanks for visiting and have a great afternoon.
Recipe: Stamps: Northwoods Rubber Stamp
Paper: White, Baja Breeze, Hunter Green, Real Red, Stampin Up!, Basic Grey

Limited Supply Challenge

Good morning and happy Friday!!! I hope you have some wonderful plans for this weekend. We are going to have our November Birthday Party on Sunday. Our family has grown so big that we have a birthday party every month and celebrate all the birthdays and anniversarys at one time. So Saturday will be spent cleaning this dirty house!!! I seem to have stamping stuff all over the place....wonder how that happens!! Anyway.....onto todays challenge card.

Jeanne S. was the hostess for the Limited Supply Challenge today on Splitcoast and her challenge was to create a project with a rectangle, circle, and ribbon as the only embellishment. I decided to use my new Crafty Secrets set called Girlfriends. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The sentiment was also stamped with Memento Black, the flourish was stamped with Bravo Burgundy, and the flower was colored with a copic. I don't usually finish off the inside ( because I am toooo lazy) but thought this classy lady deserved a little extra today. The paper is called Poppy by SEI .....it is really gorgeous IRL!!!
Recipe: Stamps: Crafty Secrets
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Black, White, Poppy by SEI

Wednesday Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge #8, Belli Challenge #41, and Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply #59

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! The election is over an now we can get on with our lives....stamping and challenges, to be specific!!! Today's Rubbernecker Bloggers Challenge #8 (RNBC9), brought to us by Bev Gerard, is to make a card with two or more folds. You can check it out on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog. I decided to make a two fold card using the gorgeous Rubbernecker cornucopia image. I know I used it last week but I can't help myself!! I did change the design so that's gotta count for something!!

The Belli Challenge #41 found on Chrissy's (chrissyd723) blog is to make table decorations with a Thanksgiving or Christmas Theme. Since Sharon Johnson's (notimetostamp) Stamp Simple Challenge #59 is to make an Autumn card and
incorporate a button into the design, I decided to go with the Thanksgiving theme.

I made the Thanksgiving thank you card for my DD Holly (hbrown) since she is having our family over for Thanksgiving dinner.

The image was stamped twice with Memento Brown and one was colored with copics. The colored image was cutout and attached to the other stamped image with dimensionals. Crystal Effects was applied to some of the vegetables and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds. All the layers were distressed and the image layer was sponged with Ranger Distress Ink Scattered Straw and Lavender Lace. The sentiment, by Rubbernecker Stamps, was stamped with Memento Brown, too. Distressing and sewing was done around the background panels, they were attached to the folded sides, and then the image layers were attached to the left panel only so the card opens from the center. The ribbon is is from Strano Designs.

I also made matching placecards using the same Rubbernecker Cornucopia Stamp.

The images were stamped with Memento Brown and colored with Copic Markers.
I used the ticket corner punch on the corners, backed the vanilla layer with Chocolate Chip, tied on a ribbon, and added the kick stand. I used a piece of vanilla cs 4 x 1/2 inches. The bottom end of the piece was scored at 1" and then at 2". Adhesive was applied to both ends, the ends were attached to the back side as shown in the photo. fold at the scoring marks to form the stand.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Punpkin Pie, Daisy D's dp, SU dp, Vanilla
Ink: Memento Brown
Accessories: Strano Ribbon, SU Ribbon, Button, Hemp, Sewing Machine, Copic Markers, Dimensionals, Ticket Corner Punch, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds

The Rubbernecker Cherry Pie image was stamped with Brilliance Black, Ranger Distress Ink Scattered Straw and Peeled Paint were sponged on, and the cherry, hearts, and red border were colored with a Real Red marker.
The image was then cutout and used as a pattern to cutout the under layer from Riding Hood Red cardstock, the black layers were run through the cuttlebug using the dotted swiss folder, and the pie image was then attached with dimensionals. The sentiment, from the Rubbernecker Petite Word Set, was stamped with Brilliance Black onto white cardstock and sponged with Scattered Straw. The layers were cut out with Nestabilities and attached with dimensionals.
The cherry paper from Graphic 45's Times Nouveau Collection made the perfect background and the punched flourishes and Dew Drops complete the design.

Featured Stamper #91 and The Double Dare Challenge

Good Sunday Morning everyone!!! The Featured Stamper on Splitcoast today is Becca (Becca Stamps). Oh, my word, what a fabulous gallery!!! Everything is sooo elegant and beautiful!!! Two cards really caught my eye...one is this gorgeous poinsettia card and the other one is this beautiful welcome baby card. I was inspired by the layout and theme of one and the colors of the other. Thanks, Beth, for another fabulous gallery to be inspired by!!
The Rubbernecker star was stamped twice with Baja Breeze and Versamark and embossed with clear ep. Both stars were cut out, however, one was trimmed on the inside of the design and mounted over the full image with dimensionals. The background SU dp was stamped with the Rubbernecker holly stamp using Versamark and Baja Breeze and then embossed with white ep. The paper was layered over vanilla and Baja Breeze cardstock and the corners were punched with the Ticket Corner punch. Finally, the shear ribbon and half pearls from Flourishes, LLC were added.
This is also for the Double Dare Challenge I do each week with a group of SCS friends. The challenge hostess this week, Joanne (Sleepyinseattle), challenged us to make a blue Christmas card. Extra points are awarded for using non-Christmas paper. I hope Baja Breeze is blue enough and the SU dp is not a Christmas paper so I think I pass!!! You can see all the other DDC cards here.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Baja Breeze, Vanilla, SU dp
Ink: Baja Breeze, Versamark
Accessories: Clear ep, White ep, Dimensionals, Pearls, Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!!

Saturday's Inspiration Challenge

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today comes form the art work of Don Li-Legar, a Canadian artist who uses color, light, and texture to create Asian abstract artwork rich in Asian style and form. I didn't pick any one piece as my inspiration..... I combined several ideas and tried to recreate something Asian yet elegant. I just love this Hero Arts Orchid stamp and wanted to use it along with the Memory Box Grove paper to make a birthday card for a friend. The image was stamped on a piece of the Memory Box dp with Memento Black. I used the same paper on the background layer and the sentiment layer. The sentiment is from the Girlfriend stamp set by Crafty Secrets. The sentiment layers were cut with Nestabilities...I turned the image a little sideways to create interest with the other angled images. A Martha Stewart punched butterfly, black pearls and black shear ribbon from Flourishes, LLC finish it off. Thanks for visiting!!! I will be stamping most of the day today so I may have more to upload!!
Recipe: Stamps: Hero Arts and Crafty Secrets
Paper: Memory Box, Black, True Thyme
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Pearss, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, MS Butterfly Punch
