Taylored Expressions May Sneak Peeks: Starry Night Cutting Plate and Little Bits - Uncle Sam

Hello everyone and welcome to day one of the Taylored Expressions May Sneak Peeks!!! Can you believe it's May already and summer is just around the corner...it's been a long time coming!!! The May release includes lots of fabulous new stamp sets, dies, papers, sequins, and embossing folders for Father's Day, July 4th, parties, and lots of plain old fun but first....

For my first card, the sky was created with two colors of Color Burst: Pthalo Green and Ultramarine. The powderes were mixed with water and apply with a brush to watercolor paper in a random pattern. After the paper dried,the sky was cutout with the Starry Night Cutting Plate. White Shimmer paper was used for the background and for the frame...it was cut out with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate and adhered with foam tape. 

The Downtown Border was used to cut the town out of Oreo cardstock and gold metallic from the Metallic Neutrals cardstock was used for the windows.  The Little Bits - Flag was used for the flag...it was cut out of Red Pepper, Blue Corn and Shimmer White cardstocks and popped up with foam dots.  The sentiment from Of Thee I Sing stamp set finishes it off. 

My second card features the cute little hat die called Little Bits - Uncle Sam. Three hats were cut, one each from Red Pepper, Blue Corn, and Sprinkles cardstock and popped up inside the frame that was cut with the previously released Frame in Frame Cutting Plate. The wave was cut with the previously released Wave Border die and the stars were cut from papers in the Summer Nights 6x6 paper pack with previously released Star Stacklets. 

The Treble Clef was cut from Blue Corn cardstock with one of the dies from the Just a Note die set and the music score and sentiment from the Of Thee I Sing stamp set were stamped with navy ink. The Summer Nights Matched Sequins, buttons, and cording finish it off.
