Flat, CAS, A muse Cards

Hello everyone!!! We are actually childless....we took the last of the Grands home yesterday after we went on a train ride. We caught the Austin Steam Train in Cedar Park , Texas, rode to Bertram, Texas and then back to Cedar Park. The kids really enjoyed the ride and it gave them a chance to see a little Texas country side while learning a little Texas railroad history. Yesterday we went to the Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown, Texas. It's a 5 mile long cave with some of the most magnificient rock formations I have ever seen. They discovered it in 1963 when they were building Interstate 35. They found 45 differnet prehistoric animal bones and fossils, also...we only walked about a mile of it which was enough for this old grandma!!! Anyway....I have been playing in my craft room all evening showing a little love to my A muse stamps!! I needed to make some flat cards for mailing...the first one features the Life is a Song set. The birdcages and birds were all stamped on the Prima Botanical dp and the middle one was popped up for a little dimension.
Recipe: Stamps: Amuse Life is a Song, Paper: White, Brown, Prima Botanicals dp, Ink: Going Gray, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Accessories: Sewing Machine

The tree stamp from Amuse's Avian Notes set was colored with Rose Red and Old Olive markers and stamped on the Prima Melody dp. The sentiment and musical notes from the same set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the punched butterflies and some sewing in the upper corner finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Amuse Avian Notes, Paper: White, Rich Razzleberry, Prima Melody dp, Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Accessories: Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Old Olive and Rose Red Markers

Thanks for dropping by...it's off to bed for me. I have to work tomorrow so I better get a little sleep. ....hope you have a great Monday!!! I will be visiting blogs tomorrow night...can't wait to see what you have made!!!

Two really beautiful cards, Joan. Love your stamping directly onto patterned paper. Fab stitching on both cards, and sweet butterlies, too.

Both are gorgeous, Joan! You are going to be so lonely now with no grands. Well maybe not lonely, but less busy, right?

These are beautiful cards Joan. I love these bird cages and birds. I always love your stamped cards and wish I would get some of mine out and use them. Too busy trying to learn to color. Sounds like a fun weekend and topped off with a night of stamping. How fun!!

It sounds like an amazing time with the grandkids, Joan!! My kids would totally get into the rock formations, fossils, and animal bones (and so would I).

Your a muse cards are so pretty!! I love the images and beautiful papers! Isn't it nice not having to fight to fit the card into the envelope? ;)

Hi Joan, sounds like those grandkids keep you fit. I should think it's very quiet now that they've gone home, but I bet they had a fabulous time with you and hubby.

These are beautiful cards, really very lovely, I think you do these sorts of cards so well, you always manage to design something of beauty whether it's a flat card or something with one of your sumptuous bows. CoB

Hi Joan, you asked about the horse stamp I used, I got it at Hobby Lobby and it is by Inkadinkado, they are clear stamps. Not sure you can get it anymore but search Inkadinkado horse stamp set. Let me know if you cannot find them, I would be happy to help you out ;)
