My CAS Design...Clean but NOT Simple!!!

Good morning.....it's such a beautiful morning here...wish all my snowed in friends could come for a little visit!! We have been raking leaves in the front and digging out the flower beds. My neighbor's DH already has his potatoes planted. She canned 245 quarts of green beans last fall so she is in no hurry to see the garden grow...LOL!! Anyway....
I was in a CAS mood the other day and thought I would *whip* up a card in a few minutes...NOT!! Why are CAS designs sooo difficult for me??? I worked on this dizzy thing for hours!! I cut the zig zag pattern on the My Minds Eye dp and sewed along the point lines. The circles were cut with Nestabilities, tied together with twine, and laced through the dp piece.
It looks simple but I had a hard time figuting out what to do with all the pieces....I may need to stick with shabby chic...LOL!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Garden
Paper: Vanilla, My Minds Eye So Sophie dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Nestabilities, Sewing Machine, Martha Stewart Baker's Twine

I hope you have a great Friday and even better weekend....life is tooo short not to enjoy every minute!!!

I know what you mean Joan, CAS cards are very difficult for me as well, but I have to say this card is awesome!!! So cheerful and bright and I love the layout.
I have not sewn on my cards, it intimidates me but you've done a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing girlie.

Have a beautiful day.

Hugs and Blessings,
Deb

Love this CAS. The colours are some of my personal favourites and I love the composition of it.
I know what you mean though about these CAS. I think thees types of cards live only in our head. You think, yah, 15-20 mins and turn around and it has been a few hours :) You really succeeded with this one Joan, it is beautiful and stunning. A great CAS...even if it took you more time than what we think a CAS will take!

Although it was not the simple card you imagined, it looks GREAT!! Just think how fast you could whip up a 2nd one now you know what to do with the pieces:)
My hubby always says for the amount of time it takes me to make a card, I'd have to charge at least $200/per, hee! hee!

Woo Hoo! This is terrific! I know what you mean about CAS -- not my bag either. I call it "Clean and what was I thinking?" Your card is perfect in the mix of shapes --- pure genius using the Nesties.

Well Joan, I am one of your snowed in friends. Yesterday when the snow had stopped we had almost 15 inches, and because of some drifting I had over 2 feet blocking my doorway! And unfortunately, winter has really just begun!...Now I can't compete with "mountains and mountains" of it, but whew, I sure wouldn't want to! lol...
Your card does not look like a simple design to me. I can see why it took you hours. I absolutely LOVE your color combo, and the geometric shapes are so cool! I love how you put it all together! Fabulous!

This certainly was worth your extra effort, Joan! So fun and unique!!

You're raking leaves, and I've been shoveling snow like crazy. Go figure. ;)

I love your colourful geometric pattern, Joan, especially the way you've got the different sized circles all twined together, very creative! These CAS cards should be called Clean and DECEPTIVELY Simple, lol. Glad you don't have snow. CoB
