TLC502 and Holly's HYCCT Challenge on Splitcoast

Hello everyone!!! It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I am going to revisit an old challenge this week....can you believe we are up to #502!!!! I am going to revisit challenge #271 to emboss on vellum. I love the look of white embossing on vellum but you can use any color embossing powder you like.

Soooo, you say you don't have vellum. Well, have no fear....try embossing on waxed paper, parchment paper, tissue paper, or even acetate....what ever you have on hand.

For my card, I embossed the vellum with the Taylored Expressions We Give Thanks stamp....it was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep. To add a little dimension, I stamped another cornucopia on the lavender card stock, cut it out, and adhered it to the back of the embossed vellum image.  A corner rounder punch was used on the upper left corner of both layers and then the vellum was adhered to  Sugar Cube card stock. The sentiment from the same set was also embossed on the lavender card stock and cut out with the TE Label Stacklets 9 die and popped up with foam dots.  Sewing was done on the background Basic Grey Indian Summer dp and the twine and enamel dots finish it off.  (I didn't have enamel dots in the right colors so I colored some white and orange dots with copics...worked great!!)

Have you done any of the Hope You Can Cling To (HYCCT) challenges on Splitcoast? Here is a link to the Master Thread...I made this card for my sweet daughter Holly's challenge which is #5 to use strips of paper on the background of you card. We are sending our cards to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The cards will be for family and friends of patients so they can give their loved ones cards all month!!

I had the negative of a piece of Cherry Pop cardstock that had been cut out with a TE Labels 4 die. The strips of patterned papers were adhered to the back of the opening and then it was adhered to a Peapod card base. The flowers were cutout of Strawberry Milkshake, Lemon Meringue, and Corn Candy card stock with the TE Bloom Where You're Planted dies. The leaves were cut out of Granny Smith card stock with a leaf die from the Branches, Banner, and Bloom die set and the sentiment is from the TE Mischief Maker Carried Away set and the hemp, button, and enamel dots finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!
