TLC467 Let's Don't and Say We Did!!

Hello everyone!!! It's my turn to host this weeks Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and we are going  to make a one layer card with a twist! Don't you just love those *twist* challenges...LOL!!!

The twist is *Let's Don't and Say We Did*...to make the one layer card look like it has layers without adding card stock layers!!

There are several ways to do this...here are the deets:

1. Mask off a 1 - 1 1/2 inch strip across your card base and sponge ink to fill up the area. Take off the mask and use the masking tape to cover the sponged area. Use a stamp  big enough to show on the top and bottom of the sponged area amd stamp over the masked off area. After the ink is dry, remove the masking...it will look like the stamped image is behind the sponged area!!
2. Use washi tape instead of the sponging. Washi tape is an embellie, not card stock so it's not a layer (for our challenge anyway...LOL!!)
3. Sponge area inside a die and then stamp your image over it...it will look like a background layer.
4. Use stencils to sponge, spray, or use paste to create a layered look.
5. Use Embossing folders to add a little dimension or to create a frame around your image.
6. Be creative and have fun!!!

For my card, a 1 1/2 inch diagonal area was masked with Eclipse tape and sponged with Pool Party ink. The masking was removed and then the sponged area was masked. The Elements of Style flower image and sentiment  from Stampin Up! were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black....when the ink was dry, the masking was removed and a journaling pen was used along the edges of the sponged area. The image was colored with reinkers and an Aqua pen and the hemp cording and button finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...hope you can join us for this weeks TLC challenge...I'd love to see what you come up with!!!!
