TLC463 Circle Flower

Hello everyone and welcome to the first TLC challenge on Splitcoast in 2014!!!  I was going to revisit an old technique but I found the coolest flower out there in blog land that was made with hexagon pieces. Well, wouldn’t you know...I don’t own a hexagon die so I made the flower with a 1 3/8" round punch and it worked just fine!!! So, this weeks challenge to you is to make a Circle Flower!!! If you own a hexagon die and want to use it for today’s challenge, please do so.

Here are the deets:

1. Punch out 7 or 8 circles from patterned paper or cardstock depending on the size of round punch or die you use.
2. Punch or cutout a 1 ½ -2" circle from card stock for the backing.
3. Divide the circle into thirds around the edges by placing a mark lightly with a pencil
4. Fold in two of the sides using your pencil points as a guide to create a V shape
5. Place the petals around the edge of the larger base circle to create your flower. Play with placement of the pieces before you glue them down. I used double sided tape so I could move the pieces around a bit
6. You will have to adjust some of the folds so the background base circle doesn’t show.
7. Add a button, pearl, or other embellishment to the center.

Here is a picture tutorial to go along with the above details.

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you give this flower a try...it's really fun!!!
