Happy New Year! Bring on 2010

Hello everyone...are y'all getting ready for the big celebration tonight?? My DH and I will be staying home this year with a good movie and a bowl of popcorn. Not too exciting but it works for us!!

I made this card Tuesday for the Teapot Tuesday challenge. Sabrina (Cook22) was the Teapot Tuesday hostess with the mostess who filled in for da Mudder. She took us to the woods to look for bears, trees, and all the other things you can find there...not sure if I really want to find any bears but we should have fun!!! I went in style with my little camper...the grandkids were all sooo anxious and they were driving us crazy asking "Are we there yet??" I bet you have heard that a hundred times!!! The image is a paper cut from the Mr. Campy kit...I did a little sewing around the background layers and the bears from Happy Camper were stamped with Chocolate Chip. Ribbon and the tree brads finish it off.
This is also for the DDC challenge (found in the SCS challenge forum thread) this week hosted by Fran (Francie G.) to make a card showing what we would really like to be doing right now!! Whatever it might be, that is what your card should depict! I would love to be camping right now but I guess with all the rain, sleet, and other bad weather around here, I'll only dream about it!!
Please join us in our little challenge and add DDC to the keywords section of your upload so we can find your card. You can find all the DDC cards here.
Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Camper
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Mr. Campy by Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Tree Brads, Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Dimensionals

I also made this card last Tuesday for the color challenge on Splitcoast. Betty picked Dusty Durango, Basic Gray, and Barely Banana.
I found a scrap piece of Anna Griffin dp for the background and stamped the main image with Basic Gray and Rubbernecker's Floral Silhouette image. Clear bling was colored with a copic and added to the flowers. I did a little sewing around the background layer and lace trim, PTI ribbon, and a heart charm for dessert finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Floral Silhouette Set #467
Paper: Basic Gray, Dusty Durango, Barely Banana, Anna Griffin dp, Vanilla
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Lace Trim, PTI Ribbon, Charm, Silver Cording, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Sewing Machine

I loved Tuesday's color challenge colors so much that I just had to make another card!!
I also combined the color challenge with last weeks DDC challenge hosted by Joanne (sleepyinseattle) to make a New Years card. The sweet little bird from Little Paper Shop's Christmas Wishes set was stamped with Dusty Durango and matted with Barely Banana. The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Basic Gray and sponged with Barely Banana. Scallops with a Martha Stewart punch, gray pearls, and gray ribbon finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Little Paper Shop
Paper: Basic Gray, Vanilla, Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, Basic Grey's Ambrosia
Ink: Basic Gray, Dusty Durango, Barely Banana
Accessories: Ribbon, Nestabilities, Gray Pearls, Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, Dimensionals

I am sending all my bloging friends warm wishes for a wonderful and blessed New Year!!! Thanks everyone for visiting my blog this year and leaving such sweet comments....I am really looking forward to a new year of crafting and stamping!!! Maybe I can fit a little scrapping in there, too (just for you, Fern)!!! Hugs to all!!

Exciting News!!!

I have some exciting new to share with you!!!! I was invited by Gina K. to participate in Stamp TV's Center Stage Spotlight team for the month of January......Whoohoo!!!! What an honor and I am thrilled to share it with Betty Neville and Jen Charboneau (Miss Boo on SCS). Here is the link to the announcement on Stamp TV. We have lots planned for this month so stay tuned...the new stamps are awesome!!!

I made this Valentine treat box for my DH's Valentine gift. I know it's a little early...I just hope I don't forget where I hide it...lol!!!
This is also for two challenges on stamp TV....the Monday Color Challenge to use pink and brown and the Anything Other Than a Card challenge to wrap something with ribbon and use a circle sentiment, image, or flower in the center.
The dove image from Elegant Post was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto vanilla cs and dusted with glitter. The round tin was covered with My Minds Eye dp and the lid was wrapped with ribbon.

The image was layered on a brown silk flower and a large flower die cut from the My Minds Eye paper kit. Pearls add the finishing touch.

Monday Morning Catch Up

Good morning everyone!!! I hope you are all recovered from the fun of Christmas last week...now we have a New Years celebration to look forward to!!! Not sure what we will be doing Thursday night .....nothing too exciting, that's for sure!!!
I did manage to get a little stamping done last week but not much time to upload. I hope this post gets me caught up and ready for a new year of posts!!! Anyway....
SmilynStef was chosen to be the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast today!!
What a FABO gallery....so many beautiful cards to case!!! I finally decided on the Marbled Agapanthus card...I kept the same style with the silhouettes and multi colored one layer background but I changed the stamps to Rubbernecker Sunflowers, changed the colors....sponged Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Breeze on the background and a little yellow and green on the flowers. I also changed the sentiment and added the pearls. Perfect Pearls mixed with water was spritzed over the sponged background to add a little shimmer.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Sunflowers and sentiment
Paper: White, Black
Ink: Black Craft, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, Old Olive
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Perfect Pearls, Black Pearls,

I made this gift box yesterday for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. Stef found the most awesome baby store called PoshTots...an upscale store that sells baby furniture and all the fixins. I can't imagine paying $2000.00 - $3000.00 for a baby bed but what ever floats you boat!!

The stripes of the Asa Bedding reminds me of the Cosmo Cricket Dutch girl paper I have been hoarding so I actually used two pieces (gasp!!). I took apart a box of candy I received for Christmas and made a template for this box. The images, all from Rubbernecker Stamps, were colored with copics. The sentiment says " There is no greater gift than a baby". Now I will be ready for the next baby shower I'm invited to...the box is big enough for a couple of onesies, booties, and bibs.

Don't look too close at the buggy handle...I had every intention of stamping another handle and adding it to the buggy outside the circle but I forgot till I looked at the picture on Splitcoast. I am toooo lazy to fix it now so pretend it's there!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Baby Inchies, Rubbernecker Bear in Carriage, Rubbernecker Sentiment
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl dp, White, Real Red,
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: PTI Ribbon, Nestabilities, Copics, Dimensionals

I liked the inspiration site so much that I just had to make two projects using the PoshKids store for inspiration!!
Sunday was my DGS's 6th birthday so I made this fun little card for him and based my inspiration on the Percival the Dino Big Kid Backpack. The Clear Dollar Stamps Teeny T-Rex image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The ribbon and fuzzy heart finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Teeny T-Rex and sentiment
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Wild Wasabi , White, Sassafras dp called Hog Heaven
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Red Heart Brad, Nestabilities, Copics, Ribbon, Dimensionals

I made this card Tuesday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast. We were to use Real Red, Crushed Curries, and Sahara Sand.

I also didn't want to miss the Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge Christmas Tea Party that Peggy was hosting!! Seems we were meeting rodents for a fun time and when my little space men showed up I thought they would like to come, too!! Actually, to tell the truth, I had one more Christmas card to make for one of my DGSs and this fit the bill perfectly!!!The Clear Dollar Stamps Alien Fred image was stamped on Sahara Sand cardstock and colored with a hint of color with a red copic. The little half aliens came from the the Clear Dollar Stamps Lost in Space set and the sentiment from their Just Chillin set. The balls were punched out of a scrap piece of SEI chocolate Mint dp. Silver cording and googlie eyes finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Alien Fred, Lost in Space, Just Chillin
Paper: White, Crushed Curries, Real Red, SEI dp

I made this card for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. The Rubbernecker Poinsettia images were stamped twice with Versamark and embossed with gold ep. They were then colored with Twinkling H2O's, cutout, and popped up on foam tape. Pearls for the centers, lace and gold ribbon finish it off.
Recipe:

I made this card yesterday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast.
The challenge colors were Mellow Moss, So Saffron, and Mellon Mambo.
This is also for Monday's CAS45 challenge to use curves...the scalloped edges on the Nesties die cuts are very curvy!! I also made this card for the DDC challenge hosted by me to use polka dots on your design. My post is #51 in the Double Dog Dare Challenge Forum. Please join us in the DDC and put DDC in the keywords section of your upload so we can find your cards. The little stamp called Ladybug Flower from Clear Dollar Stamps was colored with copics and my polka dots are on the Stampin Up! So Saffron dp and the embossed background.

Happy Saturday!!!

Hello everyone...hope you are all having a great weekend!!! I have been shopping, shopping, and shopping!!! I tell myself every year that I am going to start my Christmas shopping early and every year I always make the mad scramble the last week. I will finish my Christmas cards tonight so I can concentrate on finishing all my shopping next week. Anyway...enough whining!!

I made this card today for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. Stef picked a great Etsy store called Sushipot. I really liked the collage layout of the Bricolage #43 with Poultry. I didn't have the right poultry stamps so I used woodland critters from Clear Dollar Stamps December Stamp of the Month set called Critter Log. I sewed around some of the squares, (I would have sewn around them all but my one and only needle broke...grrrr!!) stamped all the images twice, colored them with copics, and popped them with glue dots and dimensionals. Buttons tied with twine and ribbon finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps December Stamp of the Month
Paper: White, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey's Mellow, Daisy D's
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Bashful Blue for the sky
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Copics, Buttons, Twine, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

This is one of the cards I made for my Christmas cards this year. It is really flat for easy mailing. I used Rubbernecker's Snowflakes and Stardust tree image and the edges were punched with an EK Success scalloped border punch. Blingy stickers and a ribbon to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Scarlet Jewel by PTI, Brazzill Green, Very Vanilla, Karen Foster dp
Ink: Handsome Hunter, Cranberry Crisp
Accessories: PTI Ribbon, Nestabilities, Round Blingy Stickers, EK Success Scallop Border Punch

This card was designed by my DD Holly for the Austin Area SCS Christmas Swap I went to last weekend. She used a diecut card form Creative Cuts and More...the stamped trees (Stampin Up!) were attached to the Sahara Sand layer and then it was attached to the inside of the front...such a cool look!!! Since I smudged ink on the front edge, I used the EK Success Scalloped Border punch along the side to eliminate the smudge....don't ya just love this craft!!! You can always fix a mistake and no one knows what happened!!!

Thanks for visiting today...now I'm off to Target to find a Legos boat...hope they aren't all gone!!!

Creative Belli Challenge #80

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! Today's challenge is to use flourishes. You can use flourish stamps, pearls, chipboard, metal, stickers, rubons....what ever strikes your fancy!!
I used some teal colored sparkly chipboard flourished that I won as the 350th participant in the Moonlight Madness challenge...thanks Phyllis!!!
Both the deer images are stamps from Redlead Paperworks. The large double deer image called 2 Deer in Winter was stamped with Rich Razzleberry onto Pretty in Pink cardstock and the smaller one called Darling Doe was stamped with RR onto a scrap piece of Basic Grey dp. Ranger Distress Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint was brushed over both of the images. The scalloped chipboard frame was colored with a copic marker and the dried image was attached to the back of the frame. The little deer was glued to the metal frame and tied to the ribbon with silver cording. The flouriehes were attached with glue dots and the pink ribbon finishes it off.

I made this for a few other challenges:

Snowmen After Dark

Hello everyone.....hope you are having a wonderful day!!! I finished my Christmas decorating yesterday....my tree isn't naked any longer!!! I was going to start on my Christmas cards this morning but when I saw what colors Betty picked for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast and I just had to make a card!! The colors are Rich Razzleberry, Barely Banana, and Always Artichoke.
I also had to make a card for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge hosted by Lisa (lisa lara). Lisa is taking us to the North Pole and we will be staying in a guest house right next to Santa's workshop...Whoohoo!!! She has challenged us to find out what snowmen and snowwomen do at night. Well folks, I found out the skinny on the snowpeople, for sure!!! They roast marshmallows and sell Smores to earn their Christmas money!!! Oh, btw, we would need to use the back door if we had yellow snow so I was real careful to find some clean white Sparkly Fluff for my snow. The Rubbernecker snowmen image was colored with copics and the sky was colored with pastels. The plastic snowflake and bow with the button finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Snowmen
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Always Artichoke, Barely Banabas, SU dp, White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Button, Floss, Plastic snowflake, Foam tape, Copics, White Sparkly Fluff, Pastels

Before I fire up the oven I better tell you about my card for the Clearly Inspired Challenge. The challenge today is to create a Winter card.
The adorable little polar bear from Clear Dollar Stamps Just Chillin set was colored with copics, cutout, and attached over the vanilla background stamped with snowflakes from the same set. Red bling and white fun Flock were added for a little glam!! The sentiment, again from the same set, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and attached with foam tape. The button with red twine and the red gingham ribbon finish it off.

There is a prize for the winner so get out those winter stamps (CDS if you have them but if not, that's ok!!) and join us for some fun!!! Chicks, Santa, and Cupcakes!!

Hello everyone....hope all is well in your little corner of the world!!! We are expecting a freeze tonight so we covered all the plants with blankets and tarps. We are supposed to get snow Friday afternoon...Whoohoo!!!! It usually melts the second it hits the ground but it sure is pretty coming down...really gets me in the Christmas mood!! Anyway...
I made this today for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast
I used Nutmeg paper by Cosmo Cricket in the background and picked colors from the paper for the Chubby Chickadee images from Clear Dollar Stamps. The chickadees were colored with copics and the blue one in the back row was popped up for a little dimension. I drew the rolling hills and the grass .....since the background layers were so colorful and full of movement, I kept the grass and sky colorless. That way the little chicks were able to stand out. The sentiment is also from CDS's.
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Chubby Chickadee and What a Tweet sentiment
Paper: White, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Prism Island Mist Light
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Button, Twine, EK Success Scallop Punch, Foam Tape

This card was made last Sunday for the Featured Stampers challenge on Splitcoast. I was sooo happy to see CarrollAnne (Mrs. Boz) as the Featured Stamper ...what a delightful gallery!!! I actually picked out 5 cards to case but only had time to make one :(

I cased her Hoot Hoot Hooray card...kept the same kraft card base and the basic layout but changed the stamps to Clear Dollar Stamps Dog Days Celebrations, off set the background drawn on square, added the ribbon, and the red. I really struggle with CAS cards because I always feel they need *just one more thing*
Recipe:
Stamps: Dog Days Celebrations by CDS
Paper: Kraft, White, Chocolate Chop, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip Marker, Copics, Ribbon, Dimensionals

I made this card last week for the color challenge on Splitcoast...the colors were Bermuda Bay, Pretty in Pink, and Old Olive. It was also for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday...check it out on Maureen's blog!!! If we want to come in the front door of the Grand Ole Opry tea party we are to bring a card with any of the following: A rose (or your favorite flower), country song theme, Johnny Cash Theme, or a card for your daughter/mother. I decided to make a card for my DD's birthday (don't tell Holly!!) and will bring lots of cupcakes to the tea party!!! The Clear Dollar Stamps Birthday Celebration cupcake and candles were stamped with the challenge colors and attached to the layers with dimensionals. May Arts silk ribbon, rhinestone flourish, Spellbinders scallop and sentiment label finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Birthday Celebration
Paper: White, Pretty in Pink, Bermuda Bay, Doodlebug dp
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive
Accessories: Spellbinders dies, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Rhinestone Flourish, SU Punch
