Button Scene

Hello everyone!! I got to play in the craft room this morning...I have a friend who has been sick for a few days and I wanted to make her a get well card. I checked the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast and the challenge was to use buttons...I have a thousand buttons that need a little love so I pulled out my Papertrey Ink Everyday Button Bits and got to work.

The clouds were sponged with pool party and my homemade cloud template. The scrap of Basic Grey paper was cut, adhered to the white card stock, and sewing was done across the top edge. The trees and sentiment were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The sun button was adhered to a punched flower and hemp cording was added...the buttons were all adhered with glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you have a great day!!! It was in the high 70's today and my hubs planted the garden today...I think spring has finally sprung!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #284

Hello everyone!!! I just want you all to know that I survived spring break....woot!!! I had up to 4 grands here every day last week and then 2 on Saturday and down to one on Sunday....I could hardly get out of bed on Monday morning...LOL!!!! We had a great week with lots of fun and laughs. They let me know that they will be back to spend all summer with us....yikes!!! We may have to discuss that one!!!! Anyway....

Barbara is our hostess for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge and I sooo love the colors she picked this week!!! I never would have put those colors together but after working with them, I will be using them again!!!

My card features stamps from two Reverse Confetti sets: Petals 'n Posies for the flowers and leaves and Lots to Say for the sentiment. The flowers and leaves were all stamped with the challenge colors and cutout with the coordinating dies. Enamel dots were added to the flower centers and the Baker's Twine finished it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD284 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

Color Throwdown #283

Hello everyone!! The hostess for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge is the wonderful Wanda and she has picked a real striking color combo. Since I have Grands staying with me this week for spring break, I went real CAS. I don't have a lot of time because I can't to get out of the kitchen...it seems we just finish one meal and they are ready for another!! We may have to order pizza tonight because I'm already sick of cooking and it's only Wednesday...LOL!!!! Anyway....

My card features stamps from Papertrey Ink's Mums the Word set. The mums were stamped with Tangerine Tango and the leaves and stems were stamped with Certainly Celery. The Savvy Dies thanks die was used to cut the sentiment out of Basic Gray card stock and the sewing and enamel dots finish  it off.

I hope these pretty colors inspire you to join our challenge...I'd love to see what you create!!!!

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD283 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

Taylored Expressions March SOTM and Key Ingredients Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Taylored Expressions March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!!! The Baker's Dozen DT is teaming up with the Key Ingredients DT to showcase the March SOTM called Take a Spin, the coordinating dies called Spin It To Win It, and the March Key Ingredients Kit which contains patterned papers from the Simple Stories Daily Grind collection and  coordinating card stock

The Stamp of the Month and the Key Ingredients Kit are monthly subscriptions with three options. You can read all about it here in the Kit Department of the Taylored Expressions Store.

Here are the March  SOTM called Take a Spin,  the Key Ingredients  kit, and the coordinating dies called Spin It To Win It which are sold separately.

The spinning wheel die was used to cut out the patterned papers and the card stock from the March Key Ingredients kit. The arrow was adhered to the wheel and an enamel dot was used in the center. Banners were hand cut and adhered behind the wheel and sewing was done around the edges of the background paper.

The sentiment was stamped on Choice Snow White card stock and the hemp cording and enamel dots finish it off.

I just love the Key Ingredients Kit because it has so much paper....since I had lots of scraps left over from my first card I decided to make another card.

This time I created the wheel with the wheel stamp from the Take a Spin set. I stamped three wheels, one red, one mustard, and one green. They were all cutout with the Spin It To Win It die and adhered to a solid card stock circle background. The arrow and it's circle base were cutout with dies from the same set and adhered with foam dots. The enamel shapes were added along with cork circles that were cut out with the same circle die. Sewing was done on the patterned paper strips and background and the bunched up twine finishes it off.

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen Design Team and the Key Ingredients Design Team....I can't wait to see what they created with these super fun stamps and dies!!!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day and be sure to stop by the Taylored Expressions Store to check out the SOTM and KI kits...you are going to love them!!!!

Taylored Expressions March Sneak Peeks : Beauty Lies Within and In Flight Cutting Plate

Hello everyone and welcome to day three of the Taylored Expressions March Sneak Peeks!!!! I can't wait for you to see what I made today....the Beauty Lies Within dies are the most fabulous dies and they are just perfect for any craft project!!!! The set comes with three dies: three mini scenes that include one with a deer, one with a butterfly, and one with a bird.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog  each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.

I decided to make bookmarks with two of the Beauty Lies Within dies....one masculine and one feminine and a card with the bird die.

The feminine bookmark features the butterfly die...four were cutout...two  orange, one  green, and one black. The orange butterflies was cutout and adhered over the black base. The top butterfly was embossed and then adhered only on the right side so the left side looks like it's in flight. The green leaves were all cutout and adhered to the black base a little off center so the black showed a little along the edge.

The Beauty Lies Within diecut was mounted on a Bloomin' Stacklet 2 diecut that was dry embossed with a Dotted Swiss embossing folder. To create the orange matting,  the same Bloomin Stacklet 2 die was used to cutout an orange layer. It was cut into quarters and they were adhered to the back of the white layer just so the orange layer showed past the ends of the white petal layers. Sewing was done around the edges of the background and the sentiment from the Taylored Expressions Chalkboard Elements set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. The black seam binding and the pearls on the butterfly finish it off.

The masculine bookmark features the deer diecut from the Beauty Lies Within set. The deer was cut out of shimmery brown paper and backed with really rust. The Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Border was used to cut out two diecuts...one from Choice Kraft and one from chocolate chip card stock. They were layered and adhered to the Choice Snow White card stock layer.

The Label It diecut was stamped with a Happy Birthday stamp from the Taylored Expressions Shine Bright set and the sewing and hemp cording finish it off.

The Bloomin' Stacklets dies were used to create the card base and the top layers were embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. The Beauty Lies Within bird diecut was cut out of chocolate chip card stock and  mounted on a round punched circle of pool party card stock.

The ribbon and twine finish it off.

My next project features the In flight Cutting Plate and the In Flight Overlays. The cutting plate was used on pink pirouette card stock which was then adhered to  polka dot patterned paper from MME's Lost & Found Heirloom 6x6 paper pad.

The In Flight Overlays were used to cutout the butterflies in the same patterned paper and they were then adhered to the top of the cutting plate butterflies. The sentiment layer and sentiment from the TE  From Me To You set were stamped with versamark, embossed with white embossing powder, cut out with the  coordinating die, and adhered with foam tape.  The button and hemp cording finishes it off.

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen Design Team...you are going to love what they made for you today!!!!!
