Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast

Hello everyone!! Boy, have I had a busy weekend....we decorated the house for Christmas and then went to Mom and Dads and decorated their house. Mom has a lot of the Dickens houses so we created a little town with snow, trees, and all the little houses and people...it's sooo cute!!Anyway...it's my week to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and my challenge is embossing resist. A couple of week ago when we celebrated the 300th challenge I had a chance to go through all the challenges and noted that we have never done a plain old embossing resist....sooo this week we will get that done!!!
I stamped the Rubbernecker Medallion with Versamark onto white cardstock and embossed with clear ep. Sponging was then done over the embossed image with Ranger Chipped Sapphire, Ranger Tumbled Glass, and Elegant Eggplant. The ink was wiped off the embossed medallion, the bottom corners were punched with a corner rounder, and it was adhered to the Elegant Eggplant matting. The sentiment, also from Rubbernecker, was stamped using the wet paper technique. The sentiment was first stamped onto wet watercolor paper with Bashful Blue, allowed to bleed a little, then dried with a heat tool, and stamped again over the first image with Elegant Eggplant. The wrinkled seam binding, button, and twine finish it off.

Okdoky....get out the clear ep and see what you can create!! Be sure to upload to the TLC302 Gallery so we can see your beautiful work!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:

1. Gingerloft Challenge - Bows
2. I Did It Creations Challenge - Vintage Christmas
3. One Stitch at a Time - Old Stash (button and twine) New Stash (new stamp)
4. Artistic Stamper - Christmas

Tuesday Trigger and The Final Swap Card

The Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger from last week (I'm just a little slow...LOL!!) has been extended another week so I got busy last night and made another Christmas card...I used the colors and snowflake shape as my inspiration.

The Stampendous Christmas sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and sponged with Wild Wasabi. The lace, seam binding and the Martha Stewart punched snowflake with the pearl center finish it off. Pretty simple but fairly flat for mailing.

I wasn't quite satisfied with the shoebox swap cards I made the other day so I made another one...I think this is the one!! I started make my 26 card packets that will include all the papers, cardstock, and embellishments to make 26 of these cards. The Christmas shoebox swaps are great because I will end up with 26 different cards to send for Christmas....whoohoo!!!
The Rubbernecker Pine Sprig image was stamped first with Old Olive. Then the punched ferns were adhered along with the die cut red bird. A pearl was added for the eye and the bow was attached with a glue dot. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse's Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker and Waltzingmouse
Paper: White, Real Red, Old Olive, The Paper Studio dp
Ink: Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Stampin Up! Bird Die, Martha Stewart Fern Punch, Ribbon, Pearl

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!!!

Rocky's Feline Friend

Good morning everyone...boy, is it cold here!!! It got well below freezing last night which wasn't good for everyone's plants!!! My DH built me a little hot house thingy with heat lamps and plastic on the outside so the plants could get a little sunlight during the day. Hopefully, it will work and my plants don't freeze!!! Anyway....
I made this for da Mudder's Teaparty Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast yesterday...I had a hard time catching this cute little kitty...she was shopping and refused to come home...silly girl!!! When I finally found her and explained that I wanted her to go support my little buddy Rocky, she was really excited!! It seemed that Rocky, the adventurous feline, was kinda tired of the Flying Fincharellis getting all the attention so he was planning a fabulous stunt....to bungy jump off the tallest tree and on his way down snag an upside down Fincharelli to the roar of the croud. Rocky needed some felines to cheer him on.

This is also for a few other challenges:
Color Challenge #299 on Splitcoast to use Real Red, Old Olive, and River Rock.
Fresh Brewed Challenge - Christmas/winter
Crafts ans Me Challenge - snowflakes
Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings - Christmas
Stampin B's - Holiday Card
Lollipop Crafts - Christmas
ABC Christmas challenge - Yuletide (red and green)
Pile it On - fur and feathers

The adorable little Rubbernecker Christmas Cat was colored with copics and glitter was added to the cap fur and the snow. The scalloped border, snowflakes, and the button with baker's twine finish it off. The Destination Station this week is Linda in San Antonio who is battling cancer.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Christmas Cat
Paper: White, Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Grey Figgy Pudding
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bashful Blue for the clouds
Accessories: Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, EK Success Snowflake Punch, EK Success Scallop Border Punch, Button, Baker's Twine, Glitter, Copics

That's a lotta Purple!!!

Good morning everyone!! I wanted to share a few of the cards I have been making for a friend. She took several pictures of her flowers and wanted some gift sets to give to her family. I tried to keep the designs pretty simple so the beauty of the picture was center stage. Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, and Lovely Lilac cardstock were used along with ribbons, Candy Dots, various punches and cuttlebug folders....Papertrey Ink's Communique Curves Sentiments was used for the sentiments.

Aren't Sue's pictures gorgeous!!!

Since I already had the Almost Amethyst and So Saffron out on my counter, I decided to use the left overs for my TLC Challenge card yesterday. Julie challenged us to make faux tiles:
Score the background into squares, stamp a background stamp on the side with the depression in the score lines, sponge around the scored blocks using an L shaped template so the ink doesn't color the score lines.

This was new to me so I really enjoyed creating this little garden. The Rubbernecker Wild Garden Frame was stamped onto Almost Amethyst with Elegant Eggplant and the tiles were sponged with Almost Amethyst. The ribbon, button, twine, and butterfly with vellum and Liquid Pearls finished it off.
Thanks for visiting today....I hope you have a great Tuesday!!!

Swap Cards

Good morning everyone...I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!! It has taken me 2 days to get back to normal...LOL!!! I have got to get the fall things put away this afternoon and start unpacking the 15 containers of Christmas stuff!! My DD Holly and I are going to a Christmas swap in Georgetown, Texas on December 11 and I have been working on a few designs....I just can't decide on which card to use for the swap. We are to design a card that can be put together in 10 minutes or less and I wanted the card to be flat for mailing.
This card is the flatest.....bling stickers and a Martha Stewart punched snowflake jazz it up a little. A clear Gelly Roll pen adds a little sparkle to the Gina K. snowflakes from The Magic of Christmas set.

The sentiment on this card is from Papertrey Ink's Snowflake Serenade, the red snowflake was made with an EK success Punch, and the pearl finishes it off.

This is my first choice....it's really flat and shiny with the Gelly Roll pen on the snowflakes. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits set.

Thanks for stopping by ....I hope you have a great Sunday!!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and Color Throwdown

Good morning!! I'm up early this morning to do a little Thanksgiving planning. We will have about 21 people here on Thursday plus we are going to celebrate our Nov. and Dec. birthdays (6 total) so we will have a lot of eating and celebrating going on around here!!! I was going to do a little cleaning tomorrow but I think I'll dust the high spots, run the sweeper in the den, and call it a day. With all the kids running in and out, you know I'll have a big mess to clean up on Friday so why do double duty...it's called "be kind to yourself" cleaning...LOL!!! Anyway....I made this card for my friend, Julia (artystamper) who had surgery last week.
This is also for the Waltzinghouse Sketch Challenge #24 and the Color Throwdown Challenge #119 to use Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, and Early Expresso. I substituted Dusty Durango for the Cajun Craze and Soft Suede for the Early Expresso.

The background Pear Pizzazz cardstock was scored to add a little texture and interest. The background center layer was stamped with the background stamp from the Waltzingmouse Asian Gardens set using Dusty Durango. The tree trunk was stamped with Soft Suede, the leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz, and the pheasant was stamped with Dusty Durango. They were all cutout and attached with dimensionals. The ribbon, twine, and button finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Asian Gardens
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, White
Ink: Dusty Durango, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede
Accessories, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Twine, Button, Score Pal

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Hello everyone!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!! We did a little Christmas shopping and went to the grocery store...I think everyone else in town was there, too...LOL!! Hopefuly, I won't have to go again until after Thanksgiving!!! Anyway...
I am the hostess this week for the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast....I can't believe it's the 300th challenge...WOW!! I wanted to do something special to celebrate so we are going to revisit the past challenges and make a card with at least two of your favorite TLC's!! I think it will be fun to see how many challenges can be combined into one card....are you up for the challenge??? Here is the link to the past TLC challenges.
My card combines three past challenges: TLC11 Shabby Chic, TLC263 Very Vintage, and TLC207 Cut it Out.
Darcie's Create Clear Stamp set from Stamper's Dream was used for the large sentiment and the dress form, Crafty Secrets Material Girl for the sewing machine, and Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages for the sentiment. The dress form and the sewing machine were stamped with Versafine Black Onyx, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. Sewing was done around the edges and the sentiment was stamped on the little banner and embellished with the pin. The background was stamped with Rubbernecker's Victorian Diamond Panel. Lace, wrinkled seam binding, an antique button, and twine finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Darcies Create, Crafty Secret's Material Girl, Rubbernecker's Victorian Diamond Panel, Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages
Paper: Pure Luxury Ivory, black, and Kraft.

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Moxie Chic

Good morning everyone!!! My DH took me out on a date last night...we went to eat Chinese and then went to see Secretariat...what a wonderful movie!!! I told my DH we need to buy a race horse but he didn't think that was a good idea since he thinks we have a full time job just taking care of the two horses we have now....sometimes he is no fun at all...LOL!!! Anyway....
This is the card I made for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger....Moxie Chic. I used one of the damask images from Layers of Color Art Stamps Touch of Elegance set...it was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and the sentiment is from LOC's Merci Bouquet set. The red grosgrain ribbon was pleated with the sewing machine and attached with score tape. The button with the Martha Stewart twine finishes it off.
This was pretty short and sweet...I'm off to the back yard to do a little digging....have a great Saturday!!!

An Iris for Evelyn

Good morning everyone.....hope you are having a wonderful morning!!! It is a little cool here...it got down in the 40's last night but will warm up to the 70's later today. I finally got my parent's pansies planted in their planter so hopefully, I can finish my pots today. Lowes is full of fall flowers and if I don't hold myself back, I will buy too many....I LOVE all the gorgeous colors!! Anyway....
The Splitcoast Teapotters were headed to Lynn, Massachusetts yesterday on Route 88 to help Anne's (jdmommy) mother, Evelyn, celebrate her birthday!! I was really looking forward to this party because, first, I have never been to Massachusetts, and second, I happen to know that Anne and Evelyn are real good cooks!! Since da Mudder is on a health kick, I thought I could talk Anne and Evelyn into making some sinful goodies for all of the rebels in the group...Whoohoo!!! You can find all Mudder's Teapot Tuesday details here. I will get this in the mail to Evelyn this afternoon!!
This is also for yesterday's Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, and Pear Pizzaze. The Siberian Iris from Flourishes was watercolored with Tombow markers...I tried to match the challenge colors but my plum turned out a little bright. I don't usually create with so much white but I kinda like it on this...the iris really pops!!
Recips:
Stamps: Siberian Iris from Flourishes

Hello everyone...hope you had a wonderful Monday!! I took my Dad to his eye appointment this morning and then baked some chocolate chip cookies this afternoon...yummmm!!! I have only had 5 so far...I have to watch my girlish figure...LOL!!! I worked on the TLC challenge card after I was sugared up with cookies ...it's a wonder I don't have ink everywhere!!! First I wanted to show you the card I made for my youngest DGS for his 1st birthday...yikes...I can't believe he is a year old already!!! Anyway...

The adorable little robot from Inky Antics was colored with copics and layered with Bayou Blue and Kiwi Kiss. The background dp is called Rockets 'n' Sprockets by Recollections and the little space ship and space man were cut from the dp. The sentiment was computer generated and the Kiwi Kiss ribbon finished it off.

Recipe:

I made this card today for the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast. Marilynn was the Guest Hostess and her challenge was the W.I.S.H. technique. We were to scribble markers on a baggie that was cut open, mist with water, and swish our stamped image across it to color the background. On my first attempt, my image didn't show up and on my second try, I embossed the Rubbernecker Christmas Tree image with white ep...I like how the image really stands out!! Sewing was done around the background edges and the lace, wrinkled seam binding, button, and twine were the finishing details.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey's Fruitcake dp
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Markers, White ep, Nestabilities, Lace, Wrinkled Seam Binding, Button, Twine, Sewing Machine

Check out all the fabulous zipper art on the Moxie Fab World Blog.....tooo cool!!!

This is the wall hanging I made for the Moxie Fab World Zipper challenge. The zipper was cut into 3 inch sections and formed into flower petals. A glue gun was used to adhere the petals together and then onto the Nesties Blossom shaped paper flower. An antique button and baker's twine decorate the top. The leaves were stamped onto the October Afternoon Seaside dp with the leaf stamp from Stampers Anonymous Ticket to Art set, cutout, and attached. The background paper also from OA's Seaside dp was glued to the square chipboard coaster....the bottom was scalloped using the My Favorite Things's scallop die. The sentiment from retired Stampin Up! set Woodland Cottage was stamped onto vanilla cardstock, cut out, and attached. The Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist ribbon and tiny pompom trim finished it off.

Owls and Reindeers..it's a Critter Friday!!

Good morning!!! I had a great afternoon yesterday...finally got caught up on some of my favorite challenges!!! My first card features the sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC99) and the colors are for Mona's CR84FN3 Color Challenge to use pink and green.
The adorable little owls were made with the Stampin Up! owl punch...I just loooove that punch!!!! The background paper is from Heidi Grace Designs and I used scraps for the owls. The cardstock is Papertrey's Lavender Moon (it is a blue tinted pink) and the sentiment is from Penny Black. The rhinestones, sewing, and the button with the ribbon bow finish it off.
This is for the Color Throwdown #118 to use Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, and Kraft. I didn't have Cherry Cobbler so I used Riding Hood Red. The deer image from Taylored Expressions Sparkle and Cheer was stamped with Soft Suede and the snowflakes from TE's Winter Wonderland were stamped with Riding Hood Red. The edge was scalloped using an EK success scalloped border punch and the gold pearls and ribbon were added for a little glam.

I may use this design for my Christmas Cards except I'll have to use gold glitter stickers and a flat ribbon without a bow so they can be mailed without extra postage!!

Have a great day and I hope it includes a little stamping!!!
