Valentine Wish

Good morning everyone!!! Boy, did I have a wonderful day yesterday!!!! I was sooo thrilled to be chosen as a Moxie Fabber on the Moxie Fab World blog...how cool is that!!!???!!!  I felt like a Queen all day, however, I had quite a time trying to convince my sweet hubby that royalty doesn't cook and clean...LOL!!!
Anyway...I made this card last night while I was watching the Bachelor...those girls are really starting to show their true colors...call me crazy but I love those silly reality shows!!!

My card featurers the adorable Great Impressions Valentine....it is colored with copics and the background paper is from Bo Bunny's Smoochable dp. The scallop die is from My Favorite Things,  the Spellbinder's heart die was used to cutout the pink felt heart, and a Martha Stewart Punch was used for the green heart . The button, seam binding, and gold cording finish it off.

The Sweet Sunday Sketch #151 was used for the layout and the Whoopsie Daisy Challenge for the colors-pink and brown

I also made this for a few other challenges:
 1. Stamps R Us Challenge - Valentine/love
2. Crafty Pad Designs - Valentine
3. Card Caravan Challenge - punches/dies
4. Allsorts Challenge - one or more hearts
5. One Stop Craft Challenge - stitching real or faux

Gabe's Birthday Card

Good morning everyone!! Hope you had a great weekend and are ready to face the week ahead!!! My DGD Mackenzie stayed with us Friday night and she went with us on Saturday to buy a tread mill....it came in a box with a hundred tiny pieces to put together!!! It's a good thing my sweet hubby can put anything together....he's a genius, I tell ya!!! I actually did 20 minutes on it today and didn't even get winded....hopefully I can do a little longer tomorrow and each day after that!!!

Anyway...I started to make this card last year at a swap in Georgetown, Texas but never finished it. Since my DGS Gabe is having a birthday next month (he will be 5), I thought I better get it done!!

The Birthday Elephant  is from Inky Antics...it was colored with Copics, the ears were paper pieced, and it was popped up on several Nesties layers. The banner was cut out using the Pennant Border die from Taylored Expressions.

Honeypop paper was used on the balloon on the inside....how fun is that!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:
3. ABC Challenge - zoo animals
4. Fussy and Fancy Challenge - polka dots
5. Phindy's Place Challenge - birthday card for a child

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Monday!!!!

Happy 67th Anniversary!!

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great weekend so far!! Today we helped my parents celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary...Whoohoo!!! They were married on January 27, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dad was in the Navy and stationed there after he spent 2 years at Pearl Harbor.

This is the card I made for them...I also made it for the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast to use Chocolate Chip and Kraft cardstock somewhere on our card. I had a rejected piece of embossed vanilla which was brayed on the negative side of the folder with Crumb Cake left over from Monday's TLC challenge....I used it to cutout the damask shape with a Tim Holtz die. Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip were used for the shadow behind the shape. Martha Stewart Punches were used for the leaves and pink satin flowers were added to finish it off. The sentiment is from Verve's Anniversary Birds set.

Thanks for stopping by!! I'm off to bed since it's almost midnight and I'm about to turn into a pumpkin...hope you have a great day!!

Be Mine

Good morning everyone!! Can you believe we got over 2 inches of rain yesterday!!! One of our lakes is down about 18 feet so, needless to say, we are really excited about all that wet stuff!!! We may even have a littla grass this spring...whoohoo!!! I stayed inside all day and got a little stamping done....I have been making Valentines for all the Grands and more birthday cards.

I made this Valentine for the Die Cutting Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. The typewritter die that goes with the My Favorite Things Just My Type set was used to cut out the stamped image and the paper die was used to cut the Bo Bunny Crush dp. The sentiment is from Verve's Hearts on Fire set. Sparkly sticker hearts finish it off.

This is also for the Ways to Use it challenge on Splitcoast to use at least two past challenges on our card. I used the WT308 challenge - I heart you to use hearts on our project, the WT329 challenge to use something old and something new (the stamp and die are new, the heart stickers are old), and the WT357 challenge to use stickers (my hearts)
This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Inky Impressions - heart you
2. Deep Ocean Challenge - sparkle and/or glitter
3. Oldie But a Goodie Challenge - have a heart (my hearts are from last years Valentine supplies)
4. Sweet Stamps Challenge - love

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

Good morning everyone!! I've been doing a whole lotta stampin around here....I must be ignoring my house work...oh yea!!!  We watched the football games on Sunday and both my teams lost...that was a real bummer!!!  So to beat the blues, I stamped all day yesterday...and I'm headed to the stamp room right now!!!!!! I have some birthdays and my parents 67th wedding anniversary coming up so I better get busy on their cards!!

This is a birthday card for a friend at church...I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #150 and the Moxie Fab Worlds Tuesday Trigger for my inspiration. I took my inspiration from the colors and flower theme. The papers are all from Glitz Beautiful Dreamer collection...a Tim Holtz die was used for the flowers and a Spellbinders die was used for the leaves. A little Pool Party ink was sponged on the leaves to brighten the color a bit. The sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Birthday basics set, the distressing, sewing, ribbon, and the button with twine finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps PTI
Paper: Vanilla, Gina K.'s Chocolate Brown, Glitz Beautiful Dreamer dp
Ink: Pool Party, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Spellbinder's Leaf die, Tim Holtz Tattered Flower die, Button, Twine, Round Nestabilities, Stampin Up! Word Window Punch

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. The Crazy Challenge - vintage
2. Birthday Sundaes Challenge - birthday card with sentiment on the front of the card

Through the Window

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great Monday!!! I stayed up till 2AM this morning making this card (my craft room looks like it was hit by a tornado) so I am running a little slow this morning..or is it afternoon??  Judy (StampingQueenJar) has joined Holly (Toy) and me as a hostess for Splitcoast's  Monday Technique Lover's Challenge...Whoohoo!!! She gave us a wonderful challenge...to create a background that is inspired by Belleek Pottery from Ireland by inking up the negative side of an embossing folder with a neutral ink and embossing either white or vanilla cardstock. This creates the illusion of porcelain....how cool is that!!!!!

This is also for the Embossing and Debossing Challenge on the Moxie Fab World's Blog. The challenge focus is on creative ways to emboss and deboss, where it's all about adding texture and dimension to our paper crafted projects.

I used Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake ink to create the background and the bird scene behind the window. The brayer was used to ink up the negative sides of the folders and then the vanilla c/s was placed in the folder and run through the Cuttlebug. Martha Stewart punches were used for the *window box* and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I haven't figured out yet if I am inside looking out at the bird scne with flowers on my window sill or if I'm outside looking in at the birds in my living room with the flowers in the window box....LOL!!!! I think you have to use your imagination on that one!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Birthday Basics by PTI
Paper: Vanilla, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Glitz Beautiful Dreamer dp for the flowers
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Embossing folders, Martha Stewart Punches, Spellbinders Sentiment die, Poppy Stamps Window die, Pearls

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!

Ryan's Birthday Card

Good morning everyone!!! I'm a little brain dead this morning...I worked the last two days and now I'm pooped!!! Since I only work 2 days a month, it takes me all month to recover...LOL!!! No, not really...but my feet sure do need a foot rub!!!! Anyway....my grandson Ryan is having his 11th birthday tomorrow and this is the card I made for him. A couple of years ago I bought him a birthday card because I was a little short of time and he was really disappointed that his grandma didn't make him one so I won't make that mistake again!!! It's really kinda nice to know that he really likes getting my home-made cards!!

I used an adorable stamp from Stampavie called Skateboard Dude. He was colored with copics and I used the colors from the Stampin Royalty challenge. The papers are from My Minds Eye's Lime Twist, the sentiment is from Rubbernecker , and the ribbon from PTI finishes it off.

I made this for a few other challenges:
1. Stamp n Doodles - birthdays
2. Stamps R Us - card for a kid
3. Card Crafter's Circle - birthdays

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #175

Good morning everyone!! Are you ready for another Color Throwdown Challenge?? Danielle  is our hostess with the mostess this week and she has picked a beautiful palette of colors and a real WOW  inspiration photo...check it out!!

My card features the Rubbernecker sentiment stamp called Music #582-01.  The background was embossed with the music score folder and then a cream colored ink pad was run over the raised embossing. ...don't look too close but the background layer is upside down...Yikes!!! I didn't notice it till the card was all together and I wasn't about to tear it up ...just don't tell anyone!!!
MFT's dies were used for the felt roses, Spellbinders dies were used for the leaves, and seam binding, gold cording and pearls finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors to play along...use what ever you have that is similar to the challenge colors. Be sure to add CTD175 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

Twine It Up!!

Hello everyone!! Hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead!!! We didn't do a whole lot this weekend....I stamped a little and worked on taking my Christmas tree down. It takes forever to take down becuase most of the ornaments have individual boxes to be stored in. It's my own fault, I know....I have had some of the ornaments for over 35 years. I guess you could say they are a part of the family!!! Anyway...it's almost done for another year. My living room looks naked...LOL!!!

Now, about my card...it's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast. I have noticed on lots of blogs and in the card magazines a lot of different ways to use twine. So, my challenge is to Twine it up!! Wrap twine around something for a solid look, use it to outline something, or  create a flower with it....just be creative and have fun!! You can use any kind of twine, thread, or cording...use what you have!!

For my card, Baker's Twine was wrapped around the heart from the adorable Cat's Meow Happy Owlentines Day image. Double sided tape was wrapped around the heart first before the twine was wrapped....the twine was started in the middle and wrapped toward the outside edge and repeated on the other side. The little owl was colored with copics and sewing and distressing were the finishing touches.

Thanks for dropping by...have a great day!!!!

A Study in Cool Blues and Greens

Good morning everyone.....we are still chilly here....another night of below freezing weather. We are all cozy warm by the fire this morning...yea for Saturdays!!! I'm not sure what we will do today....I suppose I better take down the last of the Christmas stuff first....it's almost finished...Woot!!! Then I think I'll put on a pot of soup and fix some cornbread for lunch....yummmm!!!! Anyway....
I played a little last night and made a card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast...Stef picked  a fabulous site for our inspiration pleasure called Polyvore!! I found my inspiration in the Cold as Ice collage. I just love the cool blues and greens. I used my new Brilliance Peacock ink for the background and a Rubbernecker Wild Flower #496-03 which was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. The sentiment comes from Rubbernecker's Love Set #545 and the punched butterfly finishes it off. Now, I just need to win the lottery so I can buy that $5,900.00 purse...LOL!!!

I loved the colors so much that I made another card....
This one features the Stamp Oasis Peacock #770 SO from Rubbernecker and the sentiment from Rubbernecker's Flower Silhouettes Set #467. A template was made for the background square by using a Nestabilities Deckled die to cutout a square from a piece of cardstock and then the Brilliance Peacock ink was brayered on the opening. The peacock was stamped over the background and the ribbon is the finishing detail. Pretty simple but it makes a big statement!!
These cards are also for a few other challenges:
1. Blogger's Challenge - Wings and Things
2. Crafty Catz Challenge - Something new (Brilliance ink pad)
3. Crafty Cardmakers - No floral embellishments

Thanks for stopping by on this wonderful saturday morning...I hope you have a fantastic day!!!!

You and Me

Good morning everyone!!! We are a little chilly here in Central Texas....below freezing this morning!! We covered up the large plants outside and brought in all the smaller ones...my family room looks like a jungle...LOL!!! It is supposed to warm up to the middle 50's by noon so the cold won't last too long!! I have been taking down Christmas stuff...ya, I know I'm a little behind but hopefully, I will have it all boxed up by February...LOL!! Taking down the stuff isn't so bad but dusting and sweeping afterwards is a real bummer!!! Anyway...

I made this card for Splitcoast's Ways to Use It Challenge to use stickers. I used some old Stampin Up! sentiment and heart stickers...I have had them forever!!! The die cut flowers were made with a Tim Holtz die and some Authentique papers...The Mojo Monday 223 sketch was used for the layout and buttons and seam binding finish it off.
Recipe: Paper: Vanilla, Chocolate Chop, Authentique's Gathering dp
Ink: Ranger Vintage Photo for sponging
Accessories: Buttons, Baker's Twine, Leaf Spellbinders die, Tim Holtz flower die, Seam Binding, Stampin Up! stickers, SU scalloped border punch, sewing machine
