Casing Darlene

Good Morning everyone!!! We have had a wild week around here....we kept three grandchildren all week. My DIL needed to make a trip to see her mother and since my DS had to leave for work at 6:00 AM, we decided it would be better for the kids if they stayed here and we got them ready for school. The two year old ran the house while the others were in school!!! Anyway...they went home last night and I got up to a real quiet house this morning!!! It felt good to get my fingers inky again!!!
The Featured Stamper this week on Splitcoast is Darlene (akronstamperdpk)..... I have long been a fan of hers and have found lots of inspiration from her fabulous gallery!!! Congrats, Darlene!!!! I chose to case her Polka Dot Sympathy card.

I kept the same basic layout and colors but changed the
stamps, Nesties shape, papers, added the bow, pearls, and butterfly. The Clear Dollar Stamps Church Chatter sentiment was stamped on the Kaiser Craft dp and the Martha Stewart
punched butterfly was made using the same dp. Congrats
again, Darlene....enjoy your special day!!!!
Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Church Chatter
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Black, Kaiser Craft dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Pearls, Dimensionals

I made this Thursday for the Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast. Julia challenged us to make
something with a Vintage look...we could use Vintage supplies or things that looked old.
I have had these Vintage looking envelopes for years just sitting in a drawer...I knew I would need them one day! The paper lace from an old sachet packet was taped onto the bashful blue
cs and the image from the envie was cutout and attached with dimensionals. The sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps Church Chatter set was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. The beautiful old crocheted flower was a gift from my friend Joanne (sleepyinseattle)...thanks again, Joanne :)!!! The gathered May Arts Ribbon, buttons, and stick pin finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by today...hope your Sunday is super special!!!!

Wacky Wednesday

Good morning everyone!!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Wacky Wednesday Challenge!!! Today's hostess is Candy and her challenge to you and the Red Hot Mommas is to use bling!! You can use glitter as I did or rhinestones, stickers, Stickles, Shimmerz, glaze pens, glitter paper...the sky is the limit!!
I am soooo ready for Fall......I just had to make a Halloween card!! The Stamp Oasis Little Lovin's Trick or Treat image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. Glitter was added to the ghost and the Martha Stewart Bat Punch images. The sentiment and pumpkin are die cuts from My Minds Eye's Boo to You dp line and the paper is from Heidi Grace. I used Prism Intense Orange and Majestic Purple Light and the ribbon is from Michael's.

The green hair was popped up for a little dimension and the scarf was paper pieced with a scrap piece of dp.

We would love for you to join us in the challenge this week! Just upload your card/project to your blog or favorite online gallery and link it to today’s Rubbernecker Blog post. Miss Scarlet Did It!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone!!! The Color Challenge colors today on Splitcoast are Kraft, Real Red, Black and/or White. My friend, Anne (jdmommy) is going to be very happy because she is the RED Queen!!!!! This is also for the Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge. I am soo excited because, according to the Mudder, Parker Brother/Hasbro want to introduce a new board game but they need to solve the age old mystery of who killed Old Man Boddy in the Clue game first....Sooo, being the good citizen that I am, I solved the mystery!!! It was Miss Scarlet and she did it with a rope...I found the rope wrapped around the fancy mirror in the ballroom and it was Miss Scarlet who was the last one out with drops of bright red blood on her dress!!!

As you can see, Miss Mudder (the one with all the polka dots) and Miss Marilynn on the right had to escort her out....way to go girls!!! Now we can have our tea and crumpets at Tudor castle and play the new board game!!!
This is also for for this weeks DDC challenge, hosted by me, to honor a glamour girl...or how ever many you want!! They can be old, young, tall, short, cutsie or elegant...what ever floats you boat!!! I used the adorable glamour girls from Inky Antics...colored them with copics and added pearls for a little glam.
Thanks for dropping by today...hope you day is SUPER special!!!!

Christmas in August!!!

What a fun Sunday afternoon...I stamped till I couldn't stand any more!!!! I have had a sheet of Penny Black Christmas stickers for a while and finally decided to make a few cards. Whisper White was used for all the base cards and most of the stickers were matted with black and real red.
A variety of Merry Christmas sentiment stamps were used....Papertrey Ink, Stampin Up!, Little Paper Shop, and Stampendous.
I think the penguin card is my favorite....Martha Stewart's new Snowflake Border punch was used at the bottom and a felt snowflake finishes it off.

The ribbons are all from Stampin Up!, May Arts, and Hobby Lobby and I used up some of my Stampin Up dp scraps from last year!!. The details on this set include a white felt snowflake with a rhinestone center, white pearls, and silver pearls.

Stampin Up's new flocked Christmas paper was used on the reindeer card and a row of silver pearls finish off the one on the right.
Tomorrow I will use up more of my scraps to make some Christmas card sets for my church to sell at the Christmas bazaar in October.
Thanks for visiting today....have a great Sunday evening!!!

Look Ma, No Stamps!!!!

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today is hosted by my good friend Anne (Itsapassion) and she picked a great online store called Pylones. After surfing through the store, I kept going back to the adorable Moth Fighters that looked like like little bats....so I just had to make a Halloween card!!!
The Accessory Sheet and and papers from My Minds Eye's Boo to You dp were used along with Summer Sunrise cs and ribbon from Papertrey Ink. This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to use Polka Dots ( polka dots are on the background paper) and Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.
Recipe:
Stamps: none
Paper: Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise, Black, My Minds Eye dp and Accessory Sheet
Accessories: Ribbon, Dimensionlas

This is the card I made yesterday for the Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoast. Judy (StampingQueenJar) was the hostess and her challenge was to make a masculine card with no ribbon, flowers, or bling!!
This is also for the DDC challenge hosted by Julia (artystamper) to use these adorable free digi images from Dustin Pike. You will need to save the images to a file and then reduce the size before printing. I colored the images with copics, cut them out, and attached with dimensionals.

The frame was cut out of a piece of Paper Studio dp and attached with foam tape. Twine and brads finish it off. This is for my 6 year old DGS who loves dragons and pirates.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dustin Pike Free Digi
Paper: White, The Paper Studio dp, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Twine, Skull and Pirate Hat Brads

Dog Days of Summer!!!

Good morning everyone!!! It's been a lazy week around here....nothing to exciting going on. School starts on Monday so we have been doing some clothes shopping for the Grands. They all have grown by leaps and bounds this summer!!! I also ordered my new glasses yesterday...yikes!!!! I haven't bought glasses in about 4 years and boy have they gone up...the first pair I tried on cost $450.00!!!!! No, I didn't get those....anyway....

Today is the monthly Dirty Dozen/Alumni challenge...Val (11Valerie11) challenged us to make a card with the "dog days of summer" theme.

The requirements are to have a dog image or sentiment and summer colors such as yellow, orange, red. The restricted element is flock or any fluffy embellishment. The dog images from SU's Man's Best Friend were stamped with Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Real Red, and Ruby Red, cutout and attached to the SU cloud background with dimensionals. Googlie eyes were added to the dogs and a little glitter (not fluffy!!) was added to the colors and noses. The large eyelet and ribbon finish it off.

This is the card I made yesterday for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. The Clear Dollar Stamps Aster-The September Flower of the Month, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. I used Stampin Up's Razzleberry Lemonade dp for the layers and ribbon, Primas, punched leaves, and silver pearls finish it off.

Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Aster - September Flower of the Month
Paper: White, RRich Razzleberry, Razzleberry Lemonade dp Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Primas, Silver Pearls, Ribbon

Tuesday's Color Challenge colors on Splitcoast
were Taken with Teal, Close to Cocoa, and Vanilla. This was also made for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge. I am really excited because the Mudder got a great deal for the tea party...We went to Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia! Whoohoo!!!! Da Mudder struck a bargain with the Lighthouse People so we got to stay in the Light House! The down side was we have to catch 42,000 lbs of fish...yikes!!! I did ask my bird friends to help us out a little...maybe we could eat a few, too!!! If you want join the party, check out Mothermark's blog. I used images from three different Kittie Kits Cause a Scene by Rubbernecker: Master#2, Scene #6, and Scene #5. The images were all stamped with Close to Cocoa, colored with ink pads and an aqua pen, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. A white gel pen was used on the waves, Mothermark's Cloud Template was used for the clouds and ribbon and a charm finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by this morning....I hope your day is wonderful and you get to do something super special!!!!!

Fun Under the Sea and Sweet Little Sugar Nellie

Good evening everyone...hope you had a great day!!! I got to do a little stamping today and I even cleaned up my mess...yikes!!! I must be sick...anyway...

The Ways to Use it challenge on Splitcoast was quite a challenge today....to use variegated colors (colors that flow form one color to the other) either on the paper, ribbon, thread, yarn...you name it!

The background was created by stamping images from Clear Dollar Stamps Under the Sea set with Versamark and embossing with clear ep. Ranger Ink Broken China, Peeled Paint, and Dusty Concord were then sponged over the embossed images and a solution of Perfect Pearls and water was sprayed over the background for a shimmery effect. The fish and shells from the same set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with copics, cutout, and attached with foam tape. Ribbon and bling for the bubbles finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Under the Sea
Paper: White, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze
Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Rhinestones, Perfect Pearls, Clear ep, Foam Tape

I bought some Sugar Nellies a few months ago and finally had a chance to ink this sweet little stamp. I colored the image with copics and drew the floor ...don't look too close because it isn't too straight. It must be a real old house...heeheehee!!

A friend of mine is having her second baby so this will be the perfect card to welcome her new baby!!!!

Shear ribbon and Primas are the finishing touches. I tried to figure out how to add a little bling but no luck....at least I got the ribbon on there!!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie called Big Sister
Paper: White, Barely Banana, Lovely Lilac, Stampin Up dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Primas

Thanks for coming by tonight...hope your day was really special!!!

Wacky Wednesday

Hello everyone and welcome to Wacky Wednesday!!!!! I am excited to be your hostess today because we are going to take a walk down memory lane!!! My challenge to you and the Red Hot Mommas is to make a card using a favorite memory in your past as inspiration. It can be a favorite moment, event, trip, article of clothing...anything that brings a smile or a giggle. Oh, one more thing....you must tell us the story behind the memory!!!
My senior prom dress was long and slender like this dress (minus the bow) and the most beautiful color of emerald green. I felt sooo glamorous that night....I even had an emerald green satin purse and long white gloves...Whoohoo!!!
The dress was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Sponging was done around the edges before I removed the image from the Spellbinders die to create the white edge. Sewing was done around the edges of the background layer, the black crystal flourish was atached, and the black silk ribbon finished it off.
Paper: Prism Simply Smooth White, Black, 7 Gypsies dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, So Saffron, More Mustard
Accessories: Black Crystal Flourish, Black Silk Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Foam Tape

I know you can hardly believe this (since I'm not a day over 35) but I had a poodle skirt when I was 10 years old!!! It wasn't this pretty but I was such a hit at the roller skating rink!!!!
This long card was such a fun card to make....the image is on the Glitz dp...I just added the poodle skirt over the one she had on and cutout her arm so it fell over the skirt. The skirt was stamped on a scrap piece of Basic Grey paper and the tiny poodle was colored with a copic. Black pearls were added to the skirt and pink rhinestones were added to the earring. The Rubberencker Diva sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and a large eyelet and ribbon finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker's Poodle Skirt and sentiment from Rubbernecker's Diva Inchies set #422
Paper: Prism Simply Smooth White, Black, Glitz dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Black Pearls, Pink Rhinestones, Large Eyelet, Ribbon, foam tape
We would love for you to play along in the challenge with us this week! Just upload your card/project to your blog or favorite online gallery and link it to today’s post. You’ll have a chance to win a 40% off coupon for your next purchase!

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for another fun filled week!!!! I finally got my house back in order after having 5 grandkids last week...we ended up having 2 more last night and will have 4 tomorrow....maybe I should have waited till Wednesday to clean house!!!! Anyway......
Today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast was to use bling.
The Clear Dollar Stamps Under the Sea seahorse image was colored with copics and the red rhinestones were added to the swirly thingys at the top and along the bottom. The little seahorse from the Sassafras Lass paper called Sea Ponies was cut along the right side and flipped over the image.
Recipe: Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Under the Sea
Paper: White, Sassafras Lass dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

The Featured Stamper for Sunday's challenge on Splitcoast was my wonderful friend, Joanne (sleepyinseattle)!!!
Congrats, Joanne, ...you are such a fabulous artist and sooo deserving!!!! Your gallery is sooo awesome...I spent an hour Sunday morning enjoying all your beautiful designs!!! I finally decided to case the Dear Friend card...I kept the same basic layout and friends theme. I changed the stamps to Clear Dollar Stamps Chruch Chatter, used Prima flowers instead of a stamped image, and used different papers. This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to make a card for a friend...the word *friend*needed to be somewhere on the card.
Recipe: Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Church Chatter
Paper: White, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, SU dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Primas, Martha Stewart Punch, SU Corner Punch, Ribbon, Pearls

I made this card on Tuesday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast...the colors were: Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral (Optional), Whisper White (Optional). I really loved the colors this week...perfect for August!!! I needed to make a card for a friend who just bought a new home so I used the Nice Neighborhood set by Clear Dollar Stamps. The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The colors were off a bit but close enough, I hope!! Candy Dots and ribbon tabs finish it off.

Happy Saturday!!!

Good morning, everyone!! I bet you have been wondering where I've been!! We have had five Grandchildren with us this week and to top that off my DD Holly had surgery on Wednesday and both my parents were under the weather. Needless to say, we have been running all week!!! Today we are having our August family birthday party so I better get on the stick and get the cake made!! Everyone will go home tonight so maybe I can get a little blurfing done!!!!
I had a few minutes last night to put this together for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast.

Stef picked a great site this week called Bellacor. This site is full of the most gorgeous vases and I picked the Ora vase as the inspiration for my card. I loved the combination of soft peachy color with the metal.
The Lockhart Rose Cupcake was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The metal brads and flowers are from Flourishes and I used my new Spellbinders scalloped edge for a touch of elegance.

My DD Holly gave me this Papertrey image ....she had applied the Flower Soft and colored the leaves then handed it to me and asked me to finish it. I colored the picnic basket, layered it on the Nesties Blossom cutouts, added the ribbon and pearls, and taa daa!!
I'll give this to her later today for a little *just because* gift. She is still recovering so won't be at the party today.
Recipe:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Paper: Vanilla, Certainly Celery, SU dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Nestabilities, Pearls, Ribbon, Flower Soft, Copics

Thanks for visiting today....I will be visiting your blogs tonight!!
