Owlways and Forever!!

Good Saturday morning everyone.....what a great day!!! Mackenzie and I are going to my parents this morning to weed one of their flower gardens....Mackenzie would much rather stay in bed and sleep till noon but we have work to do!! Next time, she might think twice about asking to stay at grandmas...LOL!!! We worked on this card together last night...Mackenzie punched the flowers and added them to the card...I love having a helper in the craft room!!!!
I used my new My Cute Stamps set called Owlways Friends. The tree was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the leaves were colored with Copics. The punched flowers were adhered with glue dots and brown pearls were added to the centers. The owls were colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The paper is from Echo Parks Country Drive and the seam binding is the finishing touch.

Miss Caitlyn had a soccer game Thursday evening...the little 4 and 5 year olds are so much fun to watch!! Caitlyn is the smallest player on her team but she still gets out there and tries....this old grandma gets all excited when she kicks the ball...it doesn't go far but at least she makes a connection...LOL!!

She is practicing her footwork....

and here is the kick.....off it goes...whoohoo!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #185

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! My sweet friend Broni  is our hostess this week and she has picked some beautiful colors that just scream Spring....I just had to create some flowers!!!!

I used a Papertrey Ink vine diecut with Kiwi Kiss...I didn't have any Lucky Limeade...and added some little punched flowers with a black pearl center. The Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set and the paper is from Simple Stories' Baby Steps. The little punched butterfly, sewing, and ribbon finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors to play along...use what you have that is similar to the challenge colors. Be sure to add CTD185 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

Sweet Bee

Good morning everyone!!! I finally got into the craft room after my wild weekend....we had 3 soccer games and two trips to Austin so we were pooped yesterday!!!  With three Grands in soccer, we have been on the road quite a bit!! Anyway...I got some happy mail yesterday and just had to ink up my new goodies!!! This
cute little bee is from Lil' Inkers Sweet Bee set...doesn't she have the cutest face!!!She was colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up on foam dots. The background paper is Echo Park's Country Road and the sewing, ribbon, grass diecut, and the fun little puffy felt flowers finish it off.

I thought I would share a couple pics of Mackenzie....she plays forward and is such a fast runner, just like her daddy!! David played soccer in high school and has the bad knees to prove it....it's not a game for for the faint of heart, that's for sure!!!

They lost the game but really did a great job!!!

The Iris Club's annual Iris Show is in two weeks and my hybrids are blooming now...yikes!!! I won't have any to show at this rate!!! This one is called Gaze...

This is called Obiwan Kenobi...I won second place in the blended catagory last year with this beauty!!

We have two soccer games Thursday night so I will share more pics of the Grands on Friday...have a great day!!!

My fever is gone but the cough hangs on and on and on...what a pain!! I hope you are all healthy and enjoying all the mild spring weather....it's so nice to go outside without a coat!! Our grass is green and the iris and daffodils are all blooming....we even have a few bluebonnets!! I thought the drought would prevent them from blooming but they are pretty hardy. Anyway.......

I had a bunch of stuff sitting on my counter so I started organizing...then I thought...hummm...this would look good with that and Ooooh, I forgot I had that!! Sooo, this is what came together...no stamping...just stuff!!
The kraft heart was run through the crimper and sponged with some Vintage Cream ink. Good morning everyone...hope you are all well and safe!! My heart goes out to all those who's lives have been turned upside down by the tornados and high winds...what a nightmare for so many people!! Hopefully, the storms are over and everyone can begin to pick up the pieces of their lives. My BIL's family, his 5 children and their families live in Western Kentucky and they escaped by about 20 miles....thank goodness!!!  Anyway....

I had a chance to play in a few Splitcoast Stamper's challenges this week...this card is for the Free 4 All challenge to make a blue card with flowers. My card features a Hero Arts stamp called Large Blossom. Just for the Men!

Good morning everyone....we have had several guy birthdays in the last few weeks so I thought I would share a couple of the cards I made. I had to make a birthday card for a male cousin and the Splitcoast Color Challenge colors of Garden Green, River Rock, and Lucky Limeade were perfect!! Papertrey Ink's Chevron Stripes set was used along with PTI's Birthday Basics set for the sentiment. The colors were brayered on the stamps for a blended gratuated effect.

This is also for the House of Gilli Challenge to use green,  Lexi's Creations Challenge to use monochromatic colors, and the Everybody Art Challenge to use monochromatic colors.

This is the birthday card I made for my DGS Cody who turned 9 and loves baseball!! This is pretty simple...Cosmo Cricket Lil'Man chipboard stickers are used along some Baker's Twine and baseball paper from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics and Cody's name is spelled out with stickers from The Girls Paperie.

This is also for a few challenges:
1. Creative Craft Challengec - boys will be boys
2. Cupcake Craft Challenge - boys and their toys
3. Dream Valley Challenge - just for men

Thanks for visiting...have a great Thursday!!!
