It's a Tea Party!!!

Good morning everyone!!! Hope you are having a great Tuesday morning!!! I used today's Color Challenge on Splitcoast ( More Mustard, Mellon Mambo, and Baja Breeze) to make a card for Ms. Eula's 108th birthday...da Mudder's Tuesday Teaparty is a celebration of her birthday and the recipient of our cards this week. We are celebrating in a limousine on the way to St. Lucia by way of Philiadelpia, PA with a couple of colorful parrots who by the way are in love! Since I didn't have any parrots to bring, I decided to bring the presents!!!I also used the Mojo Monday sketch...the square version. The images from Rubbernecker's Party Time set were stamped on Basic Grey's Lemonade dp and the smaller one was colored with copics.

SCS Technique Lover's Challenge Tutorial - Recycled Cardboard Box

Hello everyone....are you ready for a really fun challenge??? I am the hostess this week for Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge ...today we are going to use recycled boxes!! Corrugated cardboard is so fun to work with...you can decorate the whole box if you want or create some fun accessories...my first demo is a big flower...who doesn't love big flowers???
I picked a flower stamp from Laundry Line called Flirty Play...inked it with Chocolate Chip and stamped it on the cardboard.
It's about a 2 inch stamp...you have to press pretty hard to get it to cover the cardboard.

Now cut it out...

seperate the layers on the petal edges....

and roll the top layer edges for a ruffled look.

Now, add it to you card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Laundry Line and sentiment from PTI's Year Round Puns
Papers: PTI's Lavender Moon, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen, Daisy D's Sweet Baby Jane
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Lace, Button, Twine, Cardboard
My second demo is a Christmas card using this beautiful bird from Little Paper Shop called Christmas Wishes. Like the flower above, the bird was inked up with Poppy Parade and stamped on the cardboard.

Cutout the bird image, seperate some of the layers, and attach to the card.

I also made a little banner for the sentiment. Some of the top layer was torn off to reveal the corrugated layer...this adds a little shabby chic look!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Little Paper Shop
Paper: Pure Luxury Kraft, Pure Luxury Lipstick Red, Mistletoe dp by Memory Box
Ink: Poppy Parade, Old Olive
Accessories: Lace, Zva Rhinestone Flourish, Prima Poinsettias, Buttons, Twine, Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Cardboard

My last demo shows how you can use the cardboard as one of your layers. For my card I tore off the first layer of paper ...

Then I sprayed on some Copper Shimmer Spritz, sponged with a little Poppy Parade, and distressed the edges with my handy dandy kitchen knife....my favorite tool...LOL!!! Remember when picking out your colors the ink will look darker on the cardboard so experiment with a few different inks to get the right color.

To make the flowers, I again tore off the first layer of paper and ran it through the Cuttlebug with a Stampin Up! flower die.

Next, I sprayed and sponged it....

and added the button with twine.....

Taa daa...like magic, it's all finished!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Stampin Up's Script background (retired)
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Pure Luxury Kraft,
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Copper Shimmer Sprits by Tsukineko, Cotton Scrap from Crafty Secrets, Lace, Buttons, Twine, Zva Rhinestone Flourish, Wood Bird from Kaiser Craft, May Arts Pink Silk Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Cardboard, Cuttlebug
Now, go cut up a box and create something FABULOUS!!!!!

Hello everyone!!! Hope all is going well with you!!! We are still busy working on my son's house and taking care of the horses in the evenings. Anyway....on with the show!!

It took me 2 days to finish this card...it's for the Sketch challenge on Splitcoast and the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, and Old Olive....yikes!!! What a combo!!! I kinda struggled with the colors because they were so bold but after two days and lots of trial and error, it finally came together!! Sundance Update

A couple of months ago we adopted another rescue horse named Sundance...she is a Morgan with such a sweet disposition. She looked pretty pitiful when we got her but as of today she has gained about 100 lbs and is doing great!!!
We take them over the fence to our daughter Holly's back yard to graze a little in the evenings. Since we have cows and donkeys sharing our pasture, our grass is not as plush. How would you like to mow a back yard like that??? Yikes!!
Midnight and Sundance love my husband George....they follow him around like little puppies and this is what it is like when he gets in the truck to leave....too funny!!!

They are saying goodby....
Thanks for dropping by today....hope you have a great day!!!

Our Craft Lounge Sketch Challenge

Good morning stampers!!! Hope all is well with you and yours!! Yesterday my church had a reception for the teachers at our adopted grade school....can you believe school starts next week??? Where has the summer gone?? The school has a closet full of extra school supplies and clothes for the students and we keep it full by having a school supplies drive plus we give extra cash for the unexpected. I'm looking forward to seeing all the kids again....I volunteer at the school in the reading program. I could never be a teacher in a classroom with 20+ kids ( my hat's off to all the wonderful teachers who love to teach!!!) all day but helping 2-3 kiddos with their reading is a real joy !!! Anyway....

I just ordered some Our Craft Lounge Stamps and decided to make a card for their challenge...they are having a blog hop and sketch challenge so check it out here.

I used the fun Ghostly Greetings set....aren't the little ghosts adorable!!! The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored a little with copics, cutout and popped up over the cute My Minds Eye Boo to You paper. The background paper is from Making Memories Spook Alley. The little puffy bats from Michael's and the sentiment finish it off.

This is also for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. I found my inspiration in the sweet little gostly onsie on the Pink Taffy Designs website.

Splitcoast's Sketch Challenge and Queen for the Day #22 Challenge

I used the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast to create a card for our Queen for the Day challenge......none other than the wonderful and ooooh sooo famous Cindy (Mothermark)!!! I can't think of anyone more deserving of this honor...she has the biggest heart of any stamper I know and is a sweetheart to boot!! Don't tell her I said that cause she tends to get a case of the big head so mum is the word!! Now, I gotta tell ya, her gallery is like no other....check it out here. She is a one of a kind artist and there is noooo way this humble stamper could ever case one of her masterpieces and do it justice so I used lots of polka dots (Cindy's trademark) and a teapot to represent her two years of teapot challenges. I know, I know...I took the easy way out but since I am old and feeble, I can get away with it...LOL!!!
The teapot from Papertrey Ink's Tea For Two set was stamped with Pretty in Pink and rock n rolled with Regal Rose. It was then run through the cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder. Another teapot image was stamped with Pretty in Pink, rock n rolled, cutout, and popped up over the other image with dimensionals. Lace, ribbon, button, and silver cording finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink's Tea For Two
Paper: White, Black, Pink Pirouette, scraps of dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
Accessories: Ribbon, Lace, Button, Silver Cording, Foam Tape
Thanks for visiting today....since I have been playing all morning, I better get busy on this messy house and visit some of my favorite blogs....have a wonderful day and stay cool!!!!

Creative Belli Challenge #98

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this 2 weeks is to use metal and round and the round card sketch is optional!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

Don't ya just love round cards...they are so fun to make!! Round and scalloped Nestabilities were used for the cardbase and all the layers. I used the sweet images from Stampin Up's new set called Aviary. The sentiment is from Pun Fun...I taped off the image on the bird stamp so I could use the sentiment at the bottom. A squiggly line was drawn for the birds to stand on and the middle bird and the birdcage were stamped twice and popped up with dimensionals. Brads and a little ribbon were added to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Aviary, Pun Fun both from stampin Up!
Paper: White, Poppy Parade, Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms dp
Ink: Poppy Parade, Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Brads, Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Mothermark's Tuesday Teapot Challenge
This is the card I made yesterday for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge. It seems that Gullible Gill is one of those fish that just gets teased and teased! He managed to get himself into one of the most well known fish mobs in the lake, The Silver Fins but that doesn't mean he still doesn't have issues to deal with! Some say the only reason he got into the mob is because his Uncle is the Fish-Father! Now Guido, the Torpedo, is the fastest fish in the mob, 42,000 miles per hour in calm water! I want to catch that stinker Guido...he thinks he's so smart and can't get caught!!

How can he resist this adorable little worm...the image is called Hooked Worm by Whipper Snapper Designs. He is colored with Copics and Dew Drops were added for the bubbles. The waves diecut from The Cats Pajamas was used for the waves at the bottom. The Kiwi Kiss ribbon is the finishing touch.

Grab your fishing poles and come join the teapotters for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge!!

This is for a few other challenges:

1. Design Dollies - Waves
2. Tuesday Taggers - sea, water, or boats
3. The Crazy Challenge - hearts
4. Karen's Doodle s Challenge Blog - Animals
5. Totally Gorjuss - aqua

Recipe:
Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs
Paper: White, Real Red, Baha Breeze, Ocean Mist, dp

Technique Lover's Challenge #286 - Ribbon Butterflies Tutorial

Hello everyone!!! It's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast this week and I have a real fun one for ya!!! I bet you have a boat load of ribbon scraps just like mine....let's use them to make something fun!!! My challenge is called *anything but a bow or knot*....that's right....no bows or knots with the ribbons!!! I want you to think of some creative way to use your ribbon scraps!!
I am going to show you how to make some ribbon butterflies which use about 1 1/2 inches of 7/8" ribbon and a little twine or wire.

Wrap the twine around the ribbon piece and tie a knot (this kind of knot is OK...giggle) at the edge, gathering the ribbon in the middle as you tighten the knot.

Tie a double knot to secure and fluff the wings....

Leave about a half inch of the twine for the antennas.

The green polka dot 1 1/2" wide ribbon was used for the flower bases....they were cut with a Stampin Up! flower die and glued to the card over the ribbon stem. The leaves were cut with a die from green grosgrain ribbon and the edges were ruffed up a little. The orange gingham ribbon was gathered with a needle and thread along one of the long edges...I started out with about 3 inches of ribbon and after gathering I sewed the two short side edges together, glued the flowers to the green bottom layer and added the buttons with twine. The sentiment is from Nina Brackett's Elegant Post set.

Recipe:
Stamps: Nina Brackett's Elegant Post
Paper: White, Old Olive, The Paper Studio dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbons, Twine, Buttons
Here is another sample using wire and a different shaped butterfly.

This ribbon is 5/8 inches so it was a little easier to work with. Attach the wire the same as the twine and twist the ends to secure.

I curled the antennas on the end of a paint brush for a fun, whimsical look.

The ribbon strip was also gathered with the wire...the ends were left long enough to slip on the button, twist the ends to secure the button, and curl the ends.

The pearl flourish and the sentiment from Rubbernecker's Party Time set finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker's Party Time
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Mellon Mambo, Kiwi Kiss, Webster's Pages dp
Accessories: Ribbon, Buttons, Copper Wire, Zva Pearl Flourish

I hope you have fun with this challenge.....I can't wait to see what everyone creates!!!
