Color throwdown Challenge #231

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! My sweet friend, Broni, is the hostess this week and she has picked some beautiful warm weather colors for us to play with this week!!! I can just taste those green apples...yummm!!!

I have oodles and gobs of Prima flowers and ribbons just sitting in a basket collecting dust so I have decided to start using them at least once a week. I just love the fabric flower on this card and the ribbons match this weeks colors.....I love it when a plan comes together!!!! The Mojo Monday Sketch #282 was used along with Making Memories dp for the background and a Die-namics die was used for the leaves. I just had to add a little twine to finish it off.

Be sure to add CTD231 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

Gotta Love Circles!!

Hello everyone....hope you had a wonderful weekend!!! I didn't do anything exciting this weekend but I did get a little stamping time...yeaaaa!!! It's my turn to host this week's Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and boy, do I have a fun challenge!!! Don't you just love circles???  They add so much fun and interest to a design....a circle can be used as a sun or a flower, as the design element in your background, you can even stack them for a melted snowman or line them up to create a caterpillar...the sky is the limit!!! Soooo, my challenge is to use punched, die cut, or hand cut circles on your design project!!!

My card features stamps from Unity and papers from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker. The yellow circle was adhered first and then the die used to cut the yellow circle was used to cut a portion of the red circle out. The camera was stamped slightly over the yellow circle and colored with Copics. The twine is the only embellishment. Pretty simple but so much fun!!!

This is also for the Moxie Fab Worlds Camera Craze Challenge to use a camera on our project, Robyn's Fetish Challenge to use ribbon or twine, and The Crafty Catz Challenge to use dies and punches .

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful evening!!!!

Sympathy Card

Good Saturday morning everyone!!!! Today is my grandson, Gabe's, 6th birthday so we are going shopping later this afternoon for a special birthday present that he picks out himself. I can't wait to see what he chooses!! He changes his mind every few days about his favorite toys so I wanted to catch him in the moment...LOL!!! Anyway....

I made this card last Tuesday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast . I needed a sympathy card for a friend and  thought the colors for this week's challenge were so peaceful and soothing. The Mojo Monday Sketch #281 was used along with Verve's Forever in Our Hearts set. The papers are from Simple Stories Baby Steps dp and Basic Grey's Cappella dp. The twine, rolled flower and rhinestone finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Loving Thoughts of You

Hello everyone....hope you are having a wonderful Monday!!!! I took my Mother shopping this morning...she only weighs 100 lbs so I had to hang on to her for dear life!! The wind is blowing hard enough to blow over the trash dumpsters in the street....gotta love Texas...LOL!!!! Anyway....I had a few minutes before I picked her up to make a card for the TLC challenge on Splitcoast. Judy challenged us to use Washi Tape on our creations. Well...don't ya know....I bought some Washi tape about a year ago and today I finally got to open it up...yeaaaa!!!

My card is pretty simple.....the Flower Garden and Sent With Love sets from The Craft's Meow were used along with the Washi Tape from Queen & Co. The flowers and sentiment were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and I can't believe I didn't add any embellies...no sewing, flowers, bling, ribbon, twine.....yikes!!! What has come over me...LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a great stamping kinda day!!!!

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone!! It's Saturday afternoon and I'm still in my PJ's.... this is a lazy day of stamping...Woot!!! I better get to the shower before hubby comes home so he doesn't turn around and walk out the door again...LOL!!!! I also need to wash a few clothes, run the dishwasher, sweep the kitchen floor, and make the bed but I do have my priorties...stamping first!!!!

I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast...Stef found a wonderful store full of Limoges Porcelain Boxes called The Limoges Box Collector.  I especially love this one... Classic Floral Perfume Chest Limoges Box. I needed an anniversary card for my son and his wife so I used a Layers of Color set called Gifts of Love for the sentiment. The Layers of Color store has been closed for a year or so but I still love their stamps!!! The paper is from the Girls Paperie called Vintage Whimsy and I used Die-namics dies for the felt rolled rose and felt leaves. A little sewing, twine, lace, pearls, and the butterfly stick pins finish it off.

This is also for the Natalie and Amy Challenge to use something old (my sentiment stamp) and something new (the butterfly stick pins), The Sparkles Challenge to use lace, and  the Crafty Calender Challenge to make a card for love/marriage.

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful day!! Now, I'm off to the shower!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Good morning everyone and Happy Valentines Day!!!! My sweet hubby bought me red roses and I gave him this hand made card...I think I got the better end of the deal...LOL!!! I asked him what he wanted for Valentines and he said "a new horse".....I'm going to take him out to eat instead!!! I hope the Valentine fairy is good to you today....maybe he will bring you a new car or a big sparkly diamond....woot!!!

I used the Tim Holtz Love set for the cupid...he was stamped with Basic Gray, cutout, and popped up over the red doily and the heart cut out of patterned paper. The sewing, lace, ribbon, and K&Co. sticker finish it off. I hope he likes it!!!

Thanks for dropping by....have a wonderful Valentines!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #229

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! It's the wonderful Wanda's turn to host the challenge this week and aren't the colors pretty!!! The strawberries in the inspiration photo look mighty yummy, too!!! Don't be shocked but I didn't make a Valentine....even though these colors would look fabulous on a Valentine!!

My card features  The sentiment from Crafty Secret's Bird Lover's set. It was stamped on a Die-namics die and the flower and leaves are Spellbinder's diecuts. The rick rack diecut is from Taylored Expressions, the Martha Stewart  punch was used for the butterfly, and the pearl flourish, button, and twine finish it off.

Be sure to add CTD229 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

TLC416 Dry Emboss and Sand on Patterned Paper

Hello everyone!! It my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have a fun and easy challenge this week....we are going to dry emboss and sand on patterned paper!! How easy is that!!!

Here are the deets:
1. Use any designer paper and any embossing folder you want (just don't use card stock). If you don't have any patterned paper, use a page from an old book, copy of a picture, or a page from a magazine or newspaper.
2. After dry embossing your paper, gently sand the raised part with a sanding block, emory board, or even a piece of a brown paper bag (a brown paper bag is the the best soft sanding tool you will find!!)
3.  If you can't find the right folder you can score on the designer paper but remember to sand the raised

part. The sanding adds a little distressing and dimension
4. Use the embossed paper anywhere on your project and be sure to have fun!!!

My card features dp from Bo Bunny's Sweet Tooth..it has a faint pattern to it, however, with the embossing and sanding it kinda disappeared!! The dress form is from Darcie's Create set and the sentiment which was stamped on a Die-namic's sentiment shape is from Crafty Secret's Girlfriend's set. The doily die cut,  twine, and buttons finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the TLC gallery for lots of inspiration!! I would love to see your creation there, too!!! Have a great day and Happy stamping!!!

Joy and Peace

Good Saturday morning everyone!!! I want to send lots of hugs to my friends in the northeast who are buried in snow this weekend...hope the snow stops soon and your electricity stays on!!! We are supposed to get a little rain later today. Wouldn't ya know my DH was trying to get some land at the farm ready for grass seed before the rain but the tractor decided to go on the blink.  He got it fixed but won't be able to spread the grass seed till next week. Hopefully we will have more rain so our horses will have some green goodies in a few months!!! Anyway....

I did a little stamping yesterday and combined three Splitcoast challenges with this card. First is the new Mix-Ability Challenge  to use Resist. You know I love techniques so this was right up my alley!! A Unity music background stamp was stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear ep. The background was then sponged with Bashful Blue and a touch of Chocolate Chip. The dove image from Layers of Color's Christmas Blessings set was stamped with Chocolate Chip and sponged with Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. Pearls, twine, a button, lace, seam binding, and canvas fabric finish it off. I used Queen Susan's beautiful Partridge in a Pear Tree card as inspiration ...congrats, Susan for being chosen Queen for the Day!!! I used the same Christmas bird theme and used a music score background but used different stamps, added the blue, and added the ribbon, lace, twine, and pearls. I also used the blue and brown color combo for the Free 4 All challenge!

Thanks for stopping by this morning....I hope you have a fun filled weekend!!!

WT413 - Kiss Me I'm ...Irish!!!

Good morning everyone...hope you are having a great day!!!   I finally put away the Valentine stamps and got out the St. Patty's Day and Easter stuff...time for a little change in the craft room!!!
This weeks Ways to Use It challenge on Splitcoast was to use green...the first thing that came to mind was a St. Patty's Day card!! My DIL and 3 grands are Irish so I will need a few of these. I bought this adorable little Irish chick last year from DeNami designs and finally got a chance to ink him up!!! He was colored with Copics and the Inkadinksdo shamrock flourish was stamped with Kaleidacolor Fresh Green ink. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Wreath of Luck set.

Thanks for stopping by.....have a great weekend!!!
