Color Throwdown Challenge #303

Hello everyone!!! Can you believe that August is almost here....where did the summer go?? The grands are all getting school clothes and supplies...it seems that every year they get new clothes for school and then a month later they have a growth spurt!! What's up with that?? I guess the secret is to wait till September to shop for school clothes but all the sales are in August....what a bummer!!! Anyway....It's Wednesday and that means it's time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!! Broni is our hostess and she has picked some fun and pretty colors.

I was a little  intimated with this color combo ...while looking through my patterned paper pads I discovered the KaiserCraft Christmas Carnival paper pad and it had several pages of tags and trim...Bingo!!!! The tags were arranged with some matting and washi tape was added to the background along with the paper trim. The ribbon and enamel dots finish it off. This was so easy that I almost feel like I cheated...LOL!!!

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD303 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Sewing was done on the hills and flower pot edge.....a piece of patterned paper was used for the sky and the pearls, button, and  hemp cording finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today...hope you find time to get crafty and stay cool!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #302

Hello everyone!!! Hope all is well with you!!! We are still gathering food from the garden....tomatoes, green peppers, and lots of cantaloupe. I made a couple batches of marinara sauce with the tomatoes and I have a 5 gallon bucket full waiting for me to play with tomorrow. We had quite a lot of rain last week so everything is growing like crazy.  I even got out the dehydrator and used it on some peppers and broccoli. Anyway....it's Wednesday so that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! It's Barbara's turn to host the challenge and I just love the bold, beautiful colors she chose!!

My card features the Fancy Feathers set from WPlus9 and the challenge colors....three of the feathers were cutout and popped up for a little dimension....no embellies this time...just feathers.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD302 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Color Throwdown Challenge #301

Hello everyone...hope all is well with you!! It has been raining here the last couple of days which is sooo wonderful!!! My little flowers are all perked up and smiling and the grass and trees are still green which is strange for the middle of July in Texas!! Our garden has really produced this year...we have broccoli, sweet corn, melons, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, green peppers, green beans, onions, carrots, cucumbers, 3 kinds of squash....I have been eating, freezing and canning my head off!!! Last night the hubs told me he is planning a winter garden....ai yi yi!!! He better call rent-a-wife when that one is ready because I think I'll be on strike...LOL!!!  Anyway....

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week it's Wanda's turn at the helm and I just love the pretty colors she picked...perfect for flowers!!

My card features the flower stamps from WPlus9's Spring Blooms set and the WPlus9 graphic set called Just Geometrics: Triangles that was used in the background. A diecut frame from my sweet friend Annette Allen was used along with the Memory Box happy die and the birthday stamp from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set....the washi tape, sequins, and the twine finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD301 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

You're In My Thoughts

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful day!! We got a little rain this morning so I won't have to water flowers till tomorrow.  Jacob (my 4 year old grandson) and I have been playing Hulk against Buzz Lightyear...not sure who is going to win but I can give you a clue. Since I am The Hulk and don't know all the cool moves,  I bet Buzz will win!!! I put a movie in for the three wild men so I could do my post..... I think that's cheating...LOL!!! Anyway....

I had some time yesterday to play in the craft room without wild men...this is what I made for Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge. Judy was the hostess and her challenge was *stamp it, punch it, separate it*.

I have had the 3 Step Bluebonnet stamp from Kitchen Sink for quite a while and the TLC challenge was the perfect time to use it!! I have a friend who is going through a tough time now (her husband was dx with cancer) so I thought this would brighten her day. The bluebonnet was stamped, punched, and popped up on layers of yellow and blue cardstock....the sentiment is from KS's 3 step Hearts and Roses set and the hemp cording is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day and I hope you get to do something fun today!!!!

Happy Days

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!!! I have had a fun and inky morning....I made this card for today's Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast.  We were to select a color conbo or other inspiration from an awesome site called The Perfect Palette...here is the inspiration I chose.  Don't you just love the warm browns and yellows!!

The little owl from Taylored Expressions  Sunshiny Day set was colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up on the TE Birch Tree Border die. The TE Ray of Sunshine cutting plate was used with so saffron card stock for the background and the sun was diecut out of a scrap piece of daffodil delight card stock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and the twine is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great weekend!!!!

This one was made with Downtown Diva...

A Year of Sweets 3 was used for this fun back to school card and....
