Coffee, Birds, Cupcakes, and Shoes!

Hello everyone and happy Monday!! Can you believe Easter is next weekend...OMG, where has this year gone??? I'm up to my usual Monday tricks...stamping in my pj's and ignoring my dirty house!! We will have a house load of company over the weekend and next week for my Mother's 90th birthday party so I will start cleaning Wednesday. If I start too soon, I'll have to do it twice...yikes!!! Anyway...I made a card for the CAS challenge this morning on Splitcoast. This is also for the Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential challenge to use a coffee theme. The images from Rubbernecker's Coffeetime set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the cups were colored with copics. The coffee pot was paper pieced with Basic Grey's Kioshi dp. The sentiment from the same set says "Our friendship is as strong as my coffee and your hairspray!"
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Coffeetime
Paper: Kraft, Basic Grey's Kioshi
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Spellbinders Die, Square Punch, Ribbon, Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, Copics

I made this card yesterday for Anne Ryan's Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoast. This week the queen is none other that the wonderful Pat Smethers!!! I was sooo excited to see my little sis chosen as the Queen ....she is sooo deserving!!!! Talk about a wonderful friend, sistah, wife, mother, mentor....I just wish I lived closer so I could hug her sweet neck..... I'll have to let the Buckle Man do that for me!! Now, down to the nitty grity....did ya get a look at Pat's gallery...OMG!!! I am sooo blown away every time I go check it out....I spent hours just cruzin. I finally decided to case Darla's Song...what a gorgeous card!!! I kept the same layout and bird theme but changed the papers, corner piece, added a ribbon, and left off the bling. Sistah, you are the best...congrats on this special honor!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Weathered Background
Paper: Vanilla, Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart, Websters Pages, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Spellbinders Scalloped Edge, Stampin Up! Bird Die, Corner Die, Ribbon, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch

Brandi ( Beedubya) was chosen as the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast yesterday. This was a new gallery to me and I tell ya, it was fabulous!! I chose to case the Cupcake for you card...I kept the same layout and cupcake theme but changed the stamps, papers, and added doodling around the inchie layers instead of using faux stitching. The cupcakes from Rubbernecker's Party Time set were colored with copics, cutout, and popped up on dimensionals. Candy Dots were added to the corners and the ribbon tabs finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Party Time
Paper: Stampin Up! dp, White, Prism Intense Orange, Prism Nautical Blue Dark, Ruby Red
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Candy Dots, Ribbon, Croner Punch, Cuttlebug, Dotted Swiss folder, Copics, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Friday's Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast was really fun!! Wendy challenges us to make a card inspired by a favorite musical and the card MUST be any size and/OR shape that is NOT A2, or standard size. I had to think about this for a while!! I finally decided to make my card around the musical Chicago...I just loved that movie!!! I was sooo impressed with all the dancing that I made my card to honor one of the greatest dancers of all time...Ginger Rogers!! As the sentiment says..."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, she just did it backwards and in high heals"...what a woman!! This is also for the Twisted Sisters Challenge to case a card from Jamie's (JaniePTS) gallery and what a fabulous gallery to find inspiration!!! I decided on her Snow Business...I kept the same basic layout and colors but changed the shape to a square design, changed the theme, stamps, and added the ribbon, silver cording, and silver pearls. The shoe image from Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy and Fabulous set was paper pieced with Basic Grey's Marrakech paper, cutout, and popped up on the white Nesties shape. I titled this Happy Dance because Jamie is now reunited with her DH...I can just see her dancing now...Whoohoo!!!!!

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy and Fabulous
Paper: White, Ballet Blue, Basic Grey Marrakech

Christmas Cards for Multiple Challenges

Hello everyone!! The Color Challenge on Splitcoast today was hosted by Betty (gbedwright) and her colors were Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, and Neutrals of choice. These are perfect colors for a Christmas card!!
I stamped the Red Lead Paperworks image with Chocolate chip onto vanilla cs and colored it with a combo of copics, chalk, and markers. The chipboard frame from the same company was colored with a Real Red marker and sanded for a little texture. In the picture it looks like velvet!!! It was layered on the wood flourishes and silk May Arts Ribbon and gold pearls finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Red Lead Paperworks
Paper: Real Red, Vanilla, Basic Grey dp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Always Artichokle, Real Red
Accessories: Gold Pearls, Chipboard Frame, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Chalks, Copics, Sewing Machine

I worked on this 4 challenge card for over 2 hours this afternoon!! I kept forgetting what the challenge requirements were and had to redo a few things...hope I got it right!!!
This is for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Mairlynn picked out a beautiful cardinal teapot for us to find inspiration from. She also wanted us to create something we were thankful for...I am thankful for the reason we celebrate Christmas and for all God's creations. This is also for the DDC challenge hosted the Sweet Miss Anne (Itsapassion) to use a button and plaid on our card.
I used the Moonlight Madness sketch and also made a masterboard of the plaid background as required by the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenge. The Rubbernecker Christmas Tree and Cardinal images were colored with copics and a Martha Stewart punch was used for the ferns. The Prima poinsettia and ribbon with twine finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Black, White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Cool Caribbean
Accessories: Ribbon, MS Fern Punch, Button, Twine, Copics, Dimensionals, Prima Poinsettia

Happy Monday!!!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are having a great Monday!! I was up bright and early this morning and went straight to the craft room. I had to finish my Unity Bachelor Bro challenge #4 card that I started on Thursday. The Unity Bachelor Bro Week 4 challenge is to make a recipe card for dinner with the man you love!! We are going to skip dinner and go right to dessert...who doesn't love gingerbread cookies!!!
I hand drew the gingerbread man out of Creamy Caramel, added stickles to the trim, cutout the hat and added the white glittery paper. The cheeks are red liquid pearls, the eyes were drawn on with a black copic and the eye highlight and mouth were made with a gel pen. The Unity Snowflake from the August KOM was stamped on the corners of the recipe with Real Red. He was attached to the background with foam tape and a little gingerbread girl button and bow finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Snowflake from Unity's August KOM
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Real Red, White Glitter paper, dp, Vanilla
Ink: Real Red, Black Copic
Accessories: Red Stickles, Ribbon, Red Liquid Pearls, White Gel Pen, Gingerbread Girl Button, Foam Tape

I made this card for today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast to use the thumping technique.
I worked on my *thumped* background for 2 hours and finally gave up cause it looked like a muddy mess...I cutout some of the thumped leaves and added them to a tree I drew along the side. I hope that still qualifies this for the CAS challenge!!! The Billy image from Clear Dollar Stamps Billy and Maggie Fall Fun set illustrated by Wendy Hall was colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam tape. Clouds were sponged in the background and the button, twine, and ribbon finish it off. This also qualifies for several other challenges:
2. The Pink Elephant challenge blog to use a Fall theme
3. Vicki's second Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential to dress up trees
4. The Stamp Something Challenge to use the color brown. Brown needed to appear in good supply.
Recipe:

Spooky to Spirtual

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great day!!! I have had such a busy week....helping get ready for the church basement sale, visiting my Grandkids at school, and spending time at the school helping some third graders to read. I am sooo excited, too, because I will have company this weekend!!! My friend, Bev (TexasGrammy) is coming and we are going to the Austin Area 2009 SCS Shoebox Swap along with my DD Holly (hbrown) and Fern (FRiley). Whoohoo!!! I can't wait!!! We had sooo much fun last summer when we went to the North Texas Swap. Anyway....stay tuned for some pictures on Sunday!!

I made this card for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. Thanks for the great sketch, Roxie....so many possibilities with this one!!! I also made this card for Vicki's (basement stamper) very first Saturday Spotlight Challenge to make a Halloween card with non-Halloween stamps. The Clear Dollar Stamp's Dog Days image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Lavender Lace was sponged on the sky and Martha Stewart punches were used for the fence and the bats. I had to give the little bats eyes with a white gel pen...couldn't let them fly around blind!!!

This is a set of Christmas cards I made for my Church Holiday Craft Booth in November. I used a piece of retired SU dp and vanilla for all the cards. Various Nesties were used for the matting and all of the stamp sets are Stamping Up. Each envie was stamped with a coordinating image from the set used on the card. I am working on another set using Hero Arts Christmas Trees. I will get it uploaded early next week. Hopefully, I will get ten sets finished along with about 20 chocolate kiss boxes. I may have to beg my DD for a little assist!!!!
