Happy 4th

I have a bright and happy card for you today....you may need sunglasses for this...LOL!!! I was lucky to receive a whole set of Spectrum Noir markers and I have to tell you they are wonderful to color with. They even sent a video which really helped my coloring!!!

My card today features the Reach for the Stars Border die from Taylored Expressions. Instead of using it for a border, I decided to use it to frame my sentiment....the sentiment and the sweet little girl are from TE's  Mischief Maker Americana stamp set.

The little cutie was colored with the Spectrum Noir Markers, cutout, and popped up on the background paper from Pebbles Americana 6x6 paper pad. The sentiment from the same set was stamped with real red ink, punched out with a circle punch, and popped up with foam tape. The Reach For the Stars Border was cut out of real red card stock, cut into 3 star strips, and adhered around the sentiment. sewing, distressing, and enamel dots finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...we have  Jacob, our 4 year old grandson, here today along with taking mom to a couple doctor's appointments and wouldn't you know it started to rain. We dug out the train track and made a fort so if you don't hear from me for a while, I might be tied up in the fort....you may need to rescue me from the bad guys...LOL!!!

Have a great day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #294

Hello everyone!!! Broni is the hostess for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge and I just love the pretty summery colors she picked!!! The inspiration photo reminds me that school is almost out and the Grands will be bugging Gramps to take them to the lake...fishing, swimming, boating...what fun!!! Anyway...

I have had this Waltzingmouse sentiment set called Light of the World sitting on my table for a while...it's about time I inked it up!!! A Cherry Lynn die was used for the vine and a little sewing was done around the edges. The Authentique paper called Flourish had the perfect colors for this weeks challenge and the KaiserCraft ribbon roses and hemp cording finish it off.  My camera is really goofy....it won't capture the aqua color. The color always comes out looking turquoise but IRL it looks like coastal cabana.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD294 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You can find out all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Love For You

Hello everyone!! The last few days have been busy with a choir concert, an orchestra concert,  and a little baby sitting thrown in for grins!! We didn't have time to eat before last night's concert so hubs and I had cookies for supper on the way....LOL!!! The high school, all three middle schools, and 8 elementary schools participated in the orchestra concert and it was fantastic!!! Our grandson, Cody, is in the 5th grade and plays the violin...we were so proud of him!!! Anyway....

I had a little time yesterday to play with my Taylored Expressions May Stamp of the Month called Bloom and Grow....this is such a beautiful set with lots of possibilities!!

The Stamp of the Month and the Key Ingredients Kit are monthly subscriptions with three options. You can read all about the them here in the Kit Department of the Taylored Expressions Store!!

Washi tape was first added to the background and then the flowers and leaves were stamped, cutout with the coordinating dies called Hello Blooms, and adhered underneath the sentiment layer. Heart shaped enamel dots were added to the flower centers and the hemp cording is the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #293

Hello everyone...can you believe it's Wednesday again...Yikes!!! We have been so busy the last few weeks...my sister was here visiting and we have been going to all the end of school activities for the Grands. My Dad had another Mohs surgery on his face and we have been doing twice a day dressing changes...he had a skin graft after they removed the skin cancer and it's healing beautifully!! I think he is getting a little tired of seeing Nurse Ratchet 2-3 times a day...LOL!!!

Anyway....it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge and this week it's Barbara's  turn to pick the colors...she did a pretty good job, don't you think!!

My card features dies and a sentiment stamp from Taylored Expressions.  The flowers were all cut from patterned paper using dies from the TE Bugabee Flowers die set and the TE Bloom Where You're Planted die set. The Leafy Branch die was used for the leaves and the Flutter-Bys die was used for the butterfly....glitter was added to the wings for a little glam.  Soft Sky Reinker was watered down and splattered on the white background and the birthday sentiment from the TE Workplace Wishes stamp set was stamped on patterned paper cut into a banner with Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered with glue dots.

The TE Open Scallop Border die was used to cut out the Soft Sky Border and the enamel dots, hemp cording, and sewing finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD293 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You can find out all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.
