"Stamp the Sentiment Over the Image"

Hello everyone....it's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and I have a real easy one for you this week!!! I just love the look of the sentiment as the main image and it looks sooo pretty and elegant to stamp the sentiment over an image soooo......We are going to "stamp the sentiment over the image"!!
You can use lighter ink to stamp the the image...the Rubbernecker diamond patterned stamp from their Paris 1908 #SKU-527 set was stamped with Cool Caribbean, the damask image from the Opera #SKU-575 set was stamped with Going Gray and the sentiment called Amazing Grace #SKU-582-18 was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.
The background paper is from Graphic 45's Once upon a Springtime dp, the leaves were diecut from PTI's Everyday Blessings dp with a Spellbinder's leaf die and the My Favorite Things rolled flower die was used to cut the felt flower. Lace, sewing, and a black pearl finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: White, Black, Once Upon a Springtime dp by Graphic 45, Everyday Blessings dp from Papertrey Ink
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Going Gray, Soft Sky
Accessories: Felt, Flower Die-namics from MFT, Spellbinders Leaf Die, Black Pearl, Lace, Stampin Up! Scalloped Border Punch, Nestabilities, Sewing Machine

I have a couple of vairations for you as long as the sentiment is the main image:

2. The sentiment can be stamped over a background that has been stamped with a background stamp.
3. You can stamp the sentiment over several stamped image in a collage effect.

So, we are making some wonderful memories this weekend!!! Anyway....I did find a few minutes yesterday to make this card. The flower images are from a set called Happiness is....by Nina B. Designs from the Crafts Meow. Just Saying Hello

Good morning everyone.....hope all is well with you and yours!! I took the Grands swimming yesterday but that only lasted about 10 minutes. It seems a baby had a dirty diaper that leaked into the pool so they had to shut the whole thing down. What a bummer!! We did get passes for today so hopefully it's all cleaned up and we can try again. Anyway....
I did have a few minutes yesterday before everyone got up to make a card for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast. It's been ages since I've played with one of Roxie's sketches!! It gave me a chance to use the Flower Girl image from Pergamano Stamps that I bought from Jerri Kay's shop, A Touch of Grace.
The image was colored with Copics, glitter was added to the dragonfly, Stickles was added to the flower centers, and the Puffies, leaves, and ribbon finish it off.
Recipe:Stamps: Flower Girls from Pegamano Stamps, Sentiment from Hero Art's Sending Happy Thoughts
Paper: White, Old Olive, Basic Grey's Sweet Threads
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Glitter, Stickles, KI Memories Puffies, Ribbon, Spellbinders Leaf Die, Copics, Round Nestabilities

Thanks for visiting...I'm off to shower and then to the beauty shop for a hair cut before we take off for the pool...have a great day!!!

The Grands at Work!

Good morning everyone....we had another wild day yesterday!! We will have three Grands with us for a few days....Mackenzie wanted to spend some time with her cousins. After going to the movie to see Transformers, we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Great. Then after supper we all piled into the craft room.....they all had fun making cards for Grandpa, Aunt Laura, and cousin CJ's birthdays. Hopefully, I can figure out which stamps go together and get all the sets put back together...LOL!!

Mackenzie (11) made this card for Aunt Laura (Autumn and Cole's Mom)

Mackenzie made this card for me....

Cole (7) designed this card for Grandpa's birthday....

Grandpa is going to love this!!

Autumn (13) was busy creating another page.....

The little swimmer in front is Cole and the two little guys in the back are Cole on the right and Cody (Mackenzie's brother) on the left. Toooo fun!!!

Tomorrow we are going swimming and then shopping for school supplies....can you believe school starts in a few weeks...yikes!!!

Autumn's Scrapbook Page

Good morning everyone!! I thought I would show you what my sweet Granddaughter Autumn made last night....she loves to scrapbook and found some pictures of their trip to San Antonio in 2005 to work up into a great layout!!

Autumn loves glam so she added Stickles to the zebra stripes on the background dp and then she found some flourishes in my stash to add along with some sponging along the edges.

We are going to a movie this afternoon but hope to do a little scraping and stamping this morning....have a great day!!!

Night at the Opera

Good morning everyone!!! This is going to be short and sweet because I have to get ready for work...we will have two more Grands staying with us for a couple of weeks so Gramps will be in charge today. If he's smart, he will let them sleep all morning but I'm afraid the military man comes out and he feels compelled to get everyone up at the crack of dawn....my poor babies...LOL!!! Anyway....

I made this yesterday before the kids came...the background is a new stamp from Rubbernecker called Toile Panel #572 and the chandelier came from RN's Opera Set #575. They were both stamped with Night of Navy and Stickles was added to the chandelier...It looks really sparkly in real life!! The background dies are two Fancy tags taped together and the pearls and navy ribbon finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by....have a fabulous Monday!!!!

Good morning everyone....hope you are having a great weekend!!! It's a little Chevy Colorado super cab and I really like it!!! It's just my size and drives like a dream...my DH already said no to the idea of trading the car in on one of those cute little trucks...LOL!!! Anyway....I got some new toys last week and made a card with my new Tim Holts Alterations Sizzix Tattered Florals dies. Good morning everyone!! We had a wild night last night...two of our grandsons stayed with us and the 18 month old decided he didn't want to sleep...oh fun!!!! He is the happiest little boy...always grinning and sooo busy. Hopefully, he will take a nap sometime today so I can take one, too!!!!! Anyway...I had a little time yesterday to play before the boys came....I colored this sweet little image from Rubbernecker called Flower with Pot #565-07 with copics and added a little glitter to jazz it up a bit. The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker...I only used a part of it because I needed a single line sentiment for the Eat, Sleep, and Stamp sketch #140. The background designer paper is from Papertrey Ink and the seam binding, button, and twine finishes it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker Flower with Pot and sentiment

TLC334 Color Blocking With a Twist

Hello everyone....I finally got home from the Grapevine Stamp show....I'm pooped but we had sooo much fun!!! I saw some old friends and made some new ones...can't get any better than that!!! Tonight it's time for another Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge this week is to use color blocking with a twist. Most people use an acrylic block, stamp it on an ink pad and stamp the cardstock. This is used mostly as a background for another stamp on a one layer card. I want you to change it up a little.......

1. Think of another way to use the color blocking.....maybe use several different shades of one color, stamp a 2x2 block with the various colors onto white cardstock, let dry, and then use the colored cardstock with a die to make a layered flower
2. Use watercolor crayons to ink up the block, very lightly mist with water, and stamp on white cardstock.
3. Use several different colors of watercolor crayons on a large background size block...scribble the crayons all over the block, mist very lightly with water, and stamp on white cardstock. Use this as your own designer paper.
4. Use different spray colors like Glimmer Mist to ink up your block and stamp onto white cardstock,
5. Ink up your block, mist a stamp with water very lightly, stamp on the acrylic block, and then stamp the block on cardstock. It should leave a light imprint of the stamp on the paper.

I made a background with a 1" block and several different colored inks that matched the copic colors in the sweet Lilli of the Valley image. I tried to match the copic colors with patterned paper I had on hand but nothing matched so this worked out perfectly!!!

Thanks for visiting...head on over to Splitcoast and join us for a fun challenge!!!

Shabby Saturday

Good morning everyone!!! Today is the first full day of demonstrating in the Rubbernecker booth at the Grapvine Stamp Show!!!! I am all pumped up...we had dinner last night with Bev, her hubby, Ron, and Dave (Mr. Rubbernecker) and his sweet wife, Patty....we had sooo much fun!! I am ready to meet lots of stampers and get my fingers real inky!!!

I made this card the other day ....the Webster's Pages dp has been sitting on my counter for quite a while, so I decided to show it a little love. I added pearls, lace, seam binding, a wood dress form by KaiserCraft, button, wire twine, sewing, distressing, and a butterfly from Rubbernecker's Butterflies are free set. It was colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. Saturday seemed like a great day to get a little shabby!!!

Have a great day and don't forget to come on out to the stamp show....I would love to see ya!!!

Still Wishing for Winter!!

Well, friends...this is day #14 of over 100 degree weather and no rain in the forecast...yikes!!! I have been staying in the house most of the time....we are still on voluntary water rationing so we can still water the grass 3 days a week and I can still take a shower...yeaaaa!!! We took the Grands to Build a Bear last Saturday and to a movie on Sunday....then I got sick with a GI bug...no fun!!! I finally felt like stamping a little last night....I have two more Christmas cards done...Whoohoo!!!
The first one features stamps from Taylored Expressions Sparkle and Cheer set. The deer image was stamped with Riding Hood Red and the snowflakes were stamped with Marina Mist. Blue gems decorate the antlers and star stick pins were added to the sentiment. The punched snowflake, button, and Baker's Twine finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: TE's Sparkle and Cheer, Paper: White, Marina Mist, Black, SEI's WinterSong red checkered dp for the rick rack, and The Paper Studio dp for the background, Ink: Riding Hood Red, Marina Mist, Memento Tuxedo Black, Accessories: Star stick pins, Blue Gems, Button, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Baker's Twine, Die-namics Rick Rack Die, Nestabilities, Sewing Machine

This Christmas Card was sooo easy to make and took about 15 minutes total which is very unusual for me!! I used different Die-namics to cutout the scallops and rick rack from The Girl's Paperie Tinsel and Twig dp, Echo Park's Christmas Carol dp, and Stampin Up! dp. The Crepe Paper Snowflake Flower by The Girls Paperie was attached to a round Real Red die cut. The sentiment from Snag'em stamps was stamped on the banner with Old Olive.

Toile Elegance

Good morning everyone!!! Boy, has this been a crazy week for us....working, doctor's appointments, watching grandkids, and a little fender bender to round things off!!! We were taking two of out Grands to the movie last Tuesday and got hit in the back end. The car that hit us was actually hit from behind and she couldn't stop so she bumped into us. Not much damage to our car but her car was totaled. My DH took an ambulance ride to the ER but is ok. Come to find out the woman who caused the accident (she was in the 3rd car) didn't have insurance and her car was a rental from another state....it was rented more that 30 days ago. Hummmm...sounds like something is a little fishy!!! We really felt bad about the boys missing the movie so we took them yesterday...Mr. Popper's Penguins....what a fun movie!!! We all loved it and are ready to adopt some penguins...LOL!!! Anyway...I played around in my stamp room last night and this is what I came up with.

I stamped the Rubbernecker Toile Panel Background #SKU:572 and the RN sentiment #SKU:582-12 with Pacific Point. The corrugated cardboard frame is from Jellibean, the wood bird is from Kaiser Craft, and the Martha Stewart punched butterfluy, lace, seam binding, button, and twine finishes it off.

This is for a few challenges:

1. Splitcoast Stamper's Inspiration Challenge - Posh Vintage Designs - this is the sweater I took my inspiration from

2. The Poodles Parlour - anything to do with birds

3. Stampin for the Weekend - wings and things

5. Flutterby Wednesday - open but must use a butterfly, angel, or fairy

Thanks for dropping by...have a wonderful Saturday...hope you get to stamp a little today!!!!!!

TLC332 Faux Silk With a Twist

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having fun on this wonderful July 4th weekend!!! What better way to celebrate that to do a little stamping....Whoohoo!!! It's my turn to host this weeks TLC challenge on splitcoast and I am going to revisit a past challenge and add a little twist!! This week we are going to do Faux Silk. However, we are going to fancy it up just a bit by adding sponging, misting with Glimmer Mist or any other similar product, chalk, alcohol inks, flicking on the ink with a toothbrush, adding glitter or Stickles, or any other fun think you can think of!!

The instructions are pretty simple:
1. Stamp image on the tissue paper
2. Crinkle up some tissue paper and then flaten it out
3. Add glue to the background paper using a glue stick, glue spray, or liquid glue
4. Adhere the tissue paper to the backing making sure you leave a few wrinkles
5. Trim off the excess tissue paper

For those who don't have tissue paper, you can use a napkin, thin paper towel, or mulberry paper.

For my sample, I stamped the Rubbernecker 10 Point Ornament #SKU: 548 and the Rubbernecker Stamp Oasis sentiment called Scroll Joy #SKU: 1206 SO onto a napkin with Vivid Aqua ink, wadded it up, flatened it out, and glued it onto a piece of white cardstock. After triming the napkin, chalk was then used to color the ornament and around the edges. The pearl center and black silk ribbon finish it off. Recipe: Stamps: Rubbernecker 10 Point Ornament and RN Stamp Oasis Scroll Joy sentiment, Paper: White, Black, Ink: Vivid Aqua, Versafine Onyx Black, Accessories: Black Silk Ribbon, Pearls, Napkin, Chalks

Thanks for stopping by...have a Great July 4th!!!

Christmas in July

Good morning everyone....hope you are having a great Saturday!!! We made the mistake of going to the grocery store yesterday morning...I think everyone in town was there!!! I hate to wait in line and tend to get a little cranky but we made it home ok and I quieted my nerves in the craft room...LOL!! We have been trying to eat healthier so we spend a lot of time reading labels.....it is sooo amazing how much sodium and fats there are in foods like soup and other prepared canned or boxed foods.....yikes!! No wonder Americans have such problems with hypertension and heart disease....anyway.....

I made another Christmas card...this one is pretty simple and fast to make!! The background was an Inkadinkado stamp that was stamped on the vanilla cardstock with Tempting Turquoise. The sentiment border from Gina K's Vintage Borders by Nina Brackett was stamped by inking up the stamp with Tempting Turquoise, Lavender Lace, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Summer sun. The diecut snowflake, button, and Baker's Twine finish it off.

This is also for a few challenge:
1. Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge - Christmas
2. Card Crazy Challenge - Christmas
3. For Fun Challenges - Christmas
4. Clear it out Tuesday - CAS

Thanks for visiting.....have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!
