Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!   The super talented Bar is our hostess and she has picked some yummy fall colors for us this week!!!!  Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors...use what you have that comes close...we want everyone to have a chance to play!!! I also want to welcome my sweet friend and ooooh so talented Dawn Easton, who is our October Guest Designer....Whoohoo!!!!!

I bought a new Flourishes stamp set a few weeks ago and finally inked it up....it's called Country Road and ya just know I had to use the horse stamp...LOL!!! It was stamped on the More Mustard card stock that was layered with Riding Hood Red card stock and tied up with raffia and a button. The background paper is from Simple Stories Harvest Lane paper pad and a little sewing was done around the edges...I even had a little Blue Bayou card stock for the background!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Bunny Zoe's Crafts - distressing
2. Cards for Men - animals
3. Creative Stamp Friends - Autumn colors
4. Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Fall colors

An Iris for Evelyn

Good morning everyone.....hope you are having a wonderful morning!!! It is a little cool here...it got down in the 40's last night but will warm up to the 70's later today. I finally got my parent's pansies planted in their planter so hopefully, I can finish my pots today. Lowes is full of fall flowers and if I don't hold myself back, I will buy too many....I LOVE all the gorgeous colors!! Anyway....
The Splitcoast Teapotters were headed to Lynn, Massachusetts yesterday on Route 88 to help Anne's (jdmommy) mother, Evelyn, celebrate her birthday!! I was really looking forward to this party because, first, I have never been to Massachusetts, and second, I happen to know that Anne and Evelyn are real good cooks!! Since da Mudder is on a health kick, I thought I could talk Anne and Evelyn into making some sinful goodies for all of the rebels in the group...Whoohoo!!! You can find all Mudder's Teapot Tuesday details here. I will get this in the mail to Evelyn this afternoon!!
This is also for yesterday's Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, and Pear Pizzaze. The Siberian Iris from Flourishes was watercolored with Tombow markers...I tried to match the challenge colors but my plum turned out a little bright. I don't usually create with so much white but I kinda like it on this...the iris really pops!!
Recips:
Stamps: Siberian Iris from Flourishes
Paper: White, Black,
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories: Ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Tombow Markers, Clear ep, Nestabilities
Thanks for stopping by....have a great Wednesday!!!

Technique Lovers Challenge - Wet Paper Stamping

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast this week and my challenge is to do Wet Paper Stamping!! I found this wonderful technique on my friend Kathy's blog, Lucky Stamper...she made a gorgeous fall card and added some flower soft to the trees!!
I wet my watercolor paper with a wet paper towel...

The tree from Flourishes Flourished Christmas was stamped with Baja Breeze onto the wet watercolor paper....clear stamps work best for me because I could see placement for the top stamping.

the ink will bleed out a bit ....which is a good thing!!!
dry with a heat tool and then....

stamp over the top of the Baja Breeze tree with a darker color...I used Old Olive
.

I love how the Baja Breeze layer bled out to create a glow behind the Old Olive tree....tooo cool!!!

I used the same technique on the sentiment and cutout the images with a Nestabilities. Sewing was done around the background layer along with some distressing. The scallop was cutout with a Spellbinders scallop die and the wrinkled seam binding, button, twine, and the gold holly and sprig sticker from Martha Stewart finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourished Christmas from Flourishes
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Riding hood Red, Old Olive, Tinsel dp by Memory Box
Ink: Old Olive, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Wrinkled Seam Binding, Button, Twine, Martha Stewart Sticker, Neatabilities, Spellbinder's Scallop Border Die, sewing Machine

I just had to make another sample...I LOOOVE this technique!!! For this card I wet my watercolor paper, stamped the sentiment with Lavender Lace, and dried it with the heat tool.

Old Olive was used to stamp over the Lavender Lace image.

Then I wet the paper around the sentiment, stamped several snowflakes with Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery, Basful Blue, and dried it again.

Old Olive, Bordering Blue, and Elegant Eggplant were the darker colores used to stamp over the snowflakes. I did go back and move a little ink with an aqua pen to get the Old Olive to bleed just a little.

The image was cutout with a Nestabilitits, layered on Lavender Lace with piercing around the edges. A silver pearl was added to one of the snowflakes and the ribbon, snowflakes, button, and silver cording were the finishing touches.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes
Paper: White, Lavender Lace, Bo Bunny dp called A Gift of Love
Ink: Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Ribbon, Silver Pearl, Button, Silver Cording, Felt Snowflakes from Hero Arts, Nestabilities

Thanks for stopping by......now get out that watercolor paper and create something FABULOUS!!! If you upload to Splitcoast use the keywords TLC294...I would love to see what you make!!!

Happy Sunday!!

Good morning everyone....I am kinda shell shocked this morning!! I met my friend, Bev (TexasGrammy), in Salado yesterday...it's a little village about 12 miles south and it's full of shops, antiques, and the best little stamp shop ever!! We shopped for a few hours and then went back to my house....we fed the horses, went out to eat, and then stamped till 3AM...yikes!!! Bev made a card called Best Friends for one of the Cling to Hope challenges on Splitcoast for Breast Cancer
awareness (the brown challenge by Lori Craig) and I thought I was making a CAS card for the pink challenge by Lydia Fiedler but I failed to read all the criteria. It was supposed to be pink and for a holiday of some kind. I hardly think making a wish is much of a holiday!!! That's what happens when I stay up too late and my brain cells stop functioning...LOL!! Anyway...I'll share it here with you and make another one for the challenge.

The silhouette from Flourishes Kids at Play set was stamped with Black Onyx Versafine and embossed with clear ep. The frame was made around the image and sentiment with a Labels 12 Nestabilities...the pearls in the corners are the only embellishment. This is pretty simple but very CAS!!

Edit: Betty Wright (gbedwright) suggested I enter this in the Flourishes World Card Making Day challenge since it's not an A2 size and it's pink....thanks Betty!!!
Sweet Bev is making friends with Midnight....

The girls have been a little cranky because we made them wear fly masks....they can see through the mesh but the flys can't attack their eyes. They will pout for a few days before they get used to the masks.
Thanks for stopping by this morning...have a great Sunday!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Good morning everyone.....have you wished the wonderful men in your life Happy Father's Day?? I made cards for my father, husband, three sons, and one son-in-law last night after all the kiddos went home.
This card is for my wonderful husband, George...he is such a great dad to all our children!!
The images from Flourishes A Guiding Light set from Stampers Dream were stamped with Vivid's Aqua ink on the Pure Luxury Ocean Mist cardstock. The sailor's knot at the bottom was stamped with Creamy Caramel on the Pure Luxury Kraft and the the pearls and twine finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes A Guiding Light
Paper: Pure Luxury Ocean Mist and Kraft, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Vivid Aqua, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Twine, Pearls
I made this one for our son, David...together Stacy and David have six children!! The sweet Popcorn the Bear image was colored with copics and attached to Baja Breeze and Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown cardstock. Since David is on the go constantly, I thought this card would be perfect for Father's Day!!

This is for my son-in-law John.....Holly and John have two four legged children and they love them dearly!! John is a wonderful cook and barbecuer (is that a word??) so when I saw this adorable stamp set, I knew it would be perfect for John!!! The images from Inky Antics BBQ Time set were colored with copics, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. The patriotic ribbon is the only embellie.
Thanks for visiting this morning.....I'm off to shower and get ready for church. We are going to do lunch with Mom and Dad and then deliver cards to our boys....have a great day!!!

Happy Thursday!!!

Hello everyone....hope you are having a wonderful Thursday!!! I went to the local grade school again this morning to help some third graders read. It's sooo sad to realize that some children do not have the opportunity to read at home..even if the school sends the books home with the children. Arrrrrr!!! Ok, I'll get off my soap box and on to my card...
This card was created using the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #23. It also qualifies for the Lili of the Valley Challenge to make a Christmas Card for a child, Ohh La La Creations to use 3 different shapes, and the Paperplay Challenge to use my favorite embellishment which is bling!!
The deer image from Flourishes Flourished Christmas set was embossed with Gold Embossing Tinsel and colored with pastels. Tiny pink bling from Taylor's Tiny Twinkles was used on the antlers, vanilla pearls were used along the side of the snowflakes, and the snowflake stickers with blingy centers, ribbon, and sewing around the background layer finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourishes Flourished Christmas
Paper: Vanilla, Prism Classic Yellowgreen, Prism Baby Pink Medium, SEI Christmas Mint
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Sewing Machine, Gold Embossing Tinsel, Pearls, Pastels, Sandylion Essentials Snowflake Stickers
I made this card Tuesday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Bermuda Bay, Apricot Appeal, and Chocolate Chip.
This is also for Anne's (jdmommy) DDC challenge (post #39 in the DDC thread) from last week to make a masculine get well card. The Rubbernecker Victorian Diamond Panel background stamp was stamped with Ranger Distress Embossing ink and embossed with clear ep. After sponging on Bermuda Bay and Apricot Appeal, Perfect Pearls and water was spritzed on and dried with a heat tool. The leaf image from Rubbernecker's Fall Trilogy set was stamped with Bermuda Bay and embossed with clear ep. It was also sponged with BB and AA and spritzed with PP's. The sentiment was hand written because I didn't have a get well sentiment the right size. Since we couldn't use ribbon or flowers (per Anne's rules) I used brown twine, sewing, and brown pearls to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Victorian Diamond Panel, Rubbernecker Fall Trilogy
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, White
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Apricot Appeal
Accessories: Twine, Pearls, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities, Foam Tape, Clear Embossing Powder

Shabby Chic meets God's Beauty and Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes

Hello everyone!! First I wanted to brag a little about my awesome new banner!!! Jami Bova (sgtstamper) designed it....I just love the vintage look she created!! It needs a little size tweeking that we will get to soon but in the mean time I just had to upload it!! I have a new signature, too, but it may have to wait till later today. I have a dentist appointment in an hour...yck!!
Anyway.....

Today on Splitcoast we have 2 color challenges. I finished Emily's color this morning: Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral, and Old Olive. Since I was in a Shabby Chic mood, everything is sponges, distressed, and speckled!!
I used SU's new God's Beauty set...stamped the butterflies with Mememto Rich Cocoa, watercolored with the challenge colors, cut them out and attached with dimensionals. The background was stamped with the leaves stamp from the set with Old Olive and watercolored with Old Olive and Cameo Coral. The flowers were stamped with Cameo Coral and the edges were stamped with Creamy Caramel using the Itty Bitty background stamp and sponged with Creamy Caramel. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, the flourishes were stamped with Creamy Caramel and Cameo Coral using Clear Dollar Stamps Elegant Flourishes set. This is also for Flourishes, LLC first ever Timeless Tuesday challenge to use flourishes in the design. Cindy Haffner is the hostess today and her card is gorgeous!!!

The background Coral layer was stamped with the Script bg stamp using Creamy Caramel and the base layer is a sheet of greenish Basic Grey Granola dp.
Glitter was added to the butterflies and flowers for a little glam. Pearls to the flower centers, lace and ribbon finish it off.
Thanks for visiting this afternoon. I may have another upload later today for the second color challenge.
