TLC414 Play with Balance

Hello everyone.....It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast. As stampers and crafters, I'm sure you have worked with your stamps, images, diecuts, etc. to create a balanced design. You don't want an image too big or too small for the space you are decorating. However, if you pair something too big and something too small, you will be actually create balance!!! Soooo, for this weeks challenge we are going to Play With Balance....I want you to use a stamp, image, diecut, etc. too big and one too small to create the perfect scale!!!
1. You can add the small image to the side of the large one or add it right on top
2. You can mix stamped images and diecuts, stickers, or embellies

My card features the large tree stamp from My Cute Stamp's  Owlways Friends set......it was stamped with Ranger's Adirondack Espresso ink and colored with Copics.  The tiny chick Valentine stamp from Demami Design was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. A grass Die-namics from MFT's and Wild Wasabi were used for the grass and the sentiment is from the Happy Owlentine Day set from The Craft's Meow. The heart button and twine finish it off.

Thanks for visiting....come on over to the TLC Challenge on Splitcoast and play along with us...I would love to see what you create!!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #226

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday again and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! The hostess this week is my sweet friend Denise and didn't she pick some gorgeous colors!!!! I was in need of a birthday card for my Niece so I not only used the CTD colors but the flower inspiration, too!!

My card features the Stampin Up!  set called Elements of Style. It was stamped twice...once on the card base and once on the top layer. Both were colored with Copics....the black matting was added and the top layer was adhered with foam dots. The birthday sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the pearls, button with seam binding, and the ribbon finish it off.

This is also for the Moxie Fab World's Use 10 Embellishments Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!!
I used 13 pearls for the flower centers and the button with seam binding.

My Parent's 68th Wedding Anniversary

Good morning everyone!!! I was gone last week end and we will have company for the next few days so I have been cleaning like crazy!! My Christmas tree is almost down...maybe I can get it finished in the morning and then I can sweep and dust the living room. I love to decorate for Christmas but taking everything down after wards is a real bummer!!!  Anyway....I did a little stamping Sunday afternoon...I needed an anniversary card for my parents 68th!! Aren't they just the cutest couple!! They were married in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 27, 1945 while Dad was still in the navy. They still hold hands and kiss each other good by when one of them leaves the house and at 90 and 92, they are still in fairly good health.. Our family is truly blessed!!!

My card features some colored die cuts from K&Co and papers from Basic Grey and Echo Park. The stamped sentiment is from Verve and sewing, lace and pearls finish it off.

Thanks for visiting....have a great day!!!

It's a Moxie Fab Valentine

Good morning everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!!! I have been stamping up a storm this week...I guess I'm trying to make up for the last few months that I ignored my craft room. It's a new year and time to head in a new direction!!! I even got a hair cut this week and reconnected with an old girlfriend.... Life is good!!! Anyway....

I made this card for the Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast to use cork and the Moxie Fab World Challenge...isn't the inspiration room pretty??

I found my inspiration from the soft, pretty colors and textures. The cupid image from Little Bits Vintage Valentine was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder on Pool Party card stock. The background paper is from Echo Park and the gingham paper is from Stampin Up! The doily heart diecut, pearls, cork, rick rack diecut, seam binding, and sewing finish it off. Another Valentine for the Grands....I am on a roll!!!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit...enjoy your day!!!

Valentines for the Grands

Good Friday morning everyone!!! I have had such a good week....instead of cleaning, washing clothes, and cooking, I have been stamping...Woot!!!! I thought I owed it to myself  since this is a new year and I have got to get my priorities straight.....the only problem is that the housework just sits there and waits for me to get it done...dang!!! Anyway...

I had fun playing along in some of the challenges on Splitcoast this week. The first card was made for the Sketch Challenge hosted by Korin.   I used papers from Echo Park's Be Mine collection and the cute Stampendous heart stamp. It was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep. Chalkdust was sponged on using white craft ink and the chipboard key is from K&Co. Yeaaaa, one more Valentine for the Grands!!

This Valentine was made for the Color Challenge hosted by Peggy. She challenged us to use Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, and Rose Red. I used some stickers from K&Co., A Cherry Lynn Die, and a doily..pretty simple but now I have yet another Valentine ready for Happy Heart Day !!

Thanks for stopping by...have a super great day!!!

TLC412 Owl You Need is Love

Hello everyone!! It's my turn to host this weeks Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast.
My challenge this week is to trim the front of your card to let the paper on the inside show. This will give us a chance to decorate the inside of our cards which is something that I rarely do...that's because I am just tooo lazy...LOL!!!

Here are the deets:
1. Fold your card base in half and then cut 1 1/2 to 2 inches off the front.edge.
2. Decorate the front without using designer paper as a background.
3. Use designer paper on the inside so when the card is closed, it shows.
4. Decorate the inside or add a sentiment.

My card features stamps from The Craft's Meow's Happy Owlentines Day set. An inch and a half was trimmed off the front edge and the image was paper pieced with papers from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush dp. The same paper was used on the inside. A small scalloped edge was added to the front and sewing, Spellbinder's heart diecuts, and a sentiment were added to the inside.  This is going to be my hubby's Valentine....hope he likes it!!!

Thanks for dropping by...hope you can join in all the fun at the TLC Challenge!!!

Buttons, pearls, and twine finish it off.

I made this for a few challenges:
1. Crafty Catz - buttons and bows
2. Creative Corner Challenges- -cute as a button
3. Hotshot Craft - clean and simple

Take Flight

Good morning everyone!! Hope all is well in your little corner of the world!! We got rain...yeaaaa!!! It has been raining for the last two days for a total of almost 5 inches....Woot!! We have been so dry that the lakes are really down and some small towns in Central Texas are worried about their water sources. This is such a crazy country....droughts, floods, storms, tornados....can't we all just get along with Mother Nature???  Anyway....I had a chance to play in Splitcoast's Sketch Challenge yesterday. I used the same papers and image from my Color Throwdown card from Wednesday  because the stuff was still on my table and I was too lazy to put it away...LOL!!

My card features the silhouette image from Flourishes Kids at Play set and papers from Echo Park's Victorian Garden. The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge's Love in the Air set.  The sewing,  twine and punched butterflies finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope your day is wonderful!!!
