Graduation Time!!

Hello everyone....hope all is well with you and yours!! I am still staying at my parents...Mom still won't keep her oxygen on and she won't eat. Tomorrow we take her to the cardiology clinic...Mom needs to wear a 24 hour halter monitor. That is going to go over like a lead balloon!! I may have to sleep with her to make sure she doesn't try to take it off...I'll just add that to my new experience list...LOL!! She doesn't remember anything from one minute to the next so this is going to be really hard for her...thank goodness it's only going to be on for 24 hours!!

Pssst...I am being featured on the Taylored Expressions Blog today...you can check it out here! Anyway.....

I have several young men friends of my Grands that I wanted to make graduation cards for...masculine cards are sooo hard for me but I think I pulled it off!! It was a snap with all my Taylored Expressions dies and stamp set!!

The first card features the Class Of die which was cut out of Metallic Neutrals - Silver cardstock. It was adhered to the center of the Blue Corn background that was embossed with the Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder. A piece of silver cardstock was cut in half on the diagonal and adhered to the top and bottom of the background with foam tape. The star border was cut with the Skinny Mini Borders die and adhered to the edges of the silver cardstock.

The Grad Cap was cut out of Blue Corn cardstock and the tassel was cut out of Metallic Neutrals - Gold. To finish it off, the numbers were cut with the Chunky #'s out of Blue Corn cardstock.

Supply List:
Taylored Expressions Stamps: Chalkboard Elements 2
Taylored Expressions Dies: Class Of, Skinny Mini Borders, Grad Cap, Chunky #'s
Paper: Blue Corn, Metallic Neutrals - Silver, Sugar Cube (TE)
Ink: Night of Navy (SU)
Accessories: Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder

My second card features the same Class Of die...this time it was cut out of Blue Corn cardstock and adhered to the Metallic Neutrals - Silver cardstock background that was embossed with the Diagonal Striped Embossing Folder and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. A frame was created for the year with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate die and the numbers were cut with the Chunky #'s.

The sentiments on the insides are from Chalkboard Elements 2 and the larger star border was cut with the Reach for the Stars Border.

Playing With Felt

Hello everyone!! I have been playing around with some Taylored Expressions felt and this is what I came up with....a Thinking of You card for my sweet friend, Kay!! She has been going through a lot lately and I just wanted her to know that we were thinking of her!!

I used several TE flower dies to cut the flowers...have you checked out the TE felt?? It's sooo thick and soft and the TE dies cut it perfectly!!

After the pieces were cut, I played around with the design....

I used 4 different colors: Carrot, Caribbean, Peach, and Split Pea..glue was used to adhere the felt pieces together and a combo of glue and foam dots was used to adhere the leaves and flowers to the card.

The sentiment from the Simply Stamped  - Zinnias stamp set was stamped on the Sugar Cube cardstock that was cutout with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die and the twine finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

My card today features the awesome new Quilted Cutting Plate...I just love quilts so this is one of my favorites from this release. Five diecut were cut....one from Sweet Basil cardstock for the frame and four out of different patterned papers. The frame was adhered to a cardstock backing and then the diecut patterned paper pieces were inserted into the frame and glued down to create a quilt design. The sentiment from A Thousand Stitches stamp set was stamped on the Buttercream Frosting diecut that was cut with the previously released Stitched Square Stacklets die.

The cute little patterned paper buttons were cut with the Little Bits - Buttons dies and the spool and needle were cut out of Sweet Basil and Metallic Neutrals - Silver cardstock with the Little Bits - Needle & Thread dies. The twine for the buttons, needle, and spool finish it off.
