TLC497 Welcome Baby

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. We had a dinner at the church today so I made a hash brown casserole to take....I always eat too much but the food is always sooo good...we have a lot of really good cooks in our little church!! I did come home to a mess, though....there wasn't enough time this morning to clean the kitchen after cooking the casserole so I did it when I got home...I can't believe the good fairy didn't clean up the mess for me. She must not work on Sundays....Anyway....

It's my turn to host the Technique Challenge on Splitcoast and this week I have a fun one for you called *Curve the Sentiment*.

Here are the deets:

1. Select a long and thin sentiment stamp (one that uses an acrylic block) that will be bendable.
2. Place it on the acrylic block and curve the ends down to create an arch.
3. Make sure it will go around your image.
4. You may have to stamp it a few times on scrap paper to make sure the curve is correct.
5. You can stamp the sentiment on one side of the image, on both sides,  or use several sentiments to go around the image....be creative and have fun!!!

My card features the adorable elephant mom and baby from the Paper Smooches A Little Lovin set. The image was colored with Copics and the sentiment was created using the *Curve the Sentiment* technique. Enamel dots,  rick rack diecut, Stampin Up! papers, sewing, and the twine finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can join us for this weeks TLC challenge!!!

Around the Campfire

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!! Things are pretty quite around here....it's too hot to spend much time outside so I have been cleaning and boxing up old clothes and lots of old craft supplies for our church garage sale in October. Now I have a little room for some new goodies....Woot!!!! I took a large trash bag full of old shoes to the church last week and now you can actually see the floor in my closet...should have done that years ago!! Anyway....

I pulled out my Taylored Expressions Around the Campfire dies and the TE Sunshiny Day stamp set to create this fun little scene. First, the clouds were sponged on the background...then the sun was stamped and colored  with Copics. The branch from the Around the Campfire die set was cutout of brown card stock and adhered to the background....the birds were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on the background and on a scrap piece of white card stock. They were colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots.

The grass was cutout of Doodlebug's Hip Hip Hooray 6x6 paper pad with the TE Build a Scene - Rolling Hills die and sewing was done along the top edge. The trees and cute little camper were cutout of the same paper with the Around the Campfire dies and popped up with foam tape.  The enamel dots and sentiment from the Sunshiny Day set finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day and be sure to do something crafty today!!!

I will also have more time to stamp and visit all my blog friends....I've missed all the inspiration!!! Anyway....

It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Monika has picked such a bright, sunny color combo...sure to lift everyone's spirits!! I'm always happy when I work with yellow.

Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone...Hope you are having a great Saturday!!! My hubs left at 4:00 this morning to go fishing....that's a bit early for me!! I would get up at 4:00 AM to stamp but not to fish...LOL!!!  Anyway....

Today's project features the  3x4 Pockets and Pages Circle Showcase die from Taylored Expressions. Several TE Little Bits dies were also used: Little Bits Watermelon, Little Bits Sun and Clouds, Little Bits Flowers and Stems

The Circle Showcase die was used to cut the frame out of two shades of blue card stock. It was also used to cutout the sun and the Little Bits Watermelon die was used to cut the mouth and eyes. The Little Bits Flowers and Stems dies were used with several different colors of card stock to create the little garden and the clouds were cut with the Little Bits Cloud dies and popped up with foam dots. The TE Grass Border die was used for the grass and the sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Sunflower Bouquet stamp set ......the twine and enamel dots finish it off.

Color Throwdown Challenge #306

Hello everyone!! How are you on this wonderful Wednesday morning?? We have been canning tomatoes....I'm beginning to think it would be easier to buy them at the store but I don't dare tell my hubs!! Gardening keeps him from going to bars and chasing wild women so I guess I'll keep on canning....LOL!!!! Anyway, it's time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge and Cindy has chosen a beautiful color combo!!! I never would have thought to use these colors together...I will be using them again, for sure!!!!

My card features the You are Wonderful stamp set from Taylored Expressions....the image and sentiment were stamped with Night of Navy and colored with Copics ( I clear embossed the Night of Navy ink so it wouldn't smear the Copics).

The enamel dots are the only embellies. I didn't have any plum or navy dots so I colored some white ones with Copics...love it when a plan comes together!!!

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD306 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

Happy Bird-Day!!!

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are having a fun weekend!!! The Hubs and I have been canning....we canned 13 quarts of hamburger soup yesterday!!! You should have seen my kitchen...it too an hour to clean up all the mess!!! We are still new to canning and with the first batch the pressure canner started doing weird things so I ran next door to get some help from my neighbor. They have been canning for 30 years so they have lots of helpful hints that you can't find in a book!!! Apparently, we had the heat up too high...once we fixed that problem, everything went smoothly. We need to can some more tomatoes tomorrow because they are coming out of our ears!!! I will add some onions, green peppers, and celery to make my own stewed tomatoes...they are so good in soups!! Anyway..

I had  some time to play a little with my new Reverse Confetti Stamps...I bought the new Fabulous Flamingo set last week and I just love the sweet little flamingos!!! The first time I stamped the legs, they were backwards...it took me a minute to figure that out...LOL!!! I used Jen's SFYTT #15 for the sketch and papers from Doodlebugs Sugar Shoppe 6x6 paper pad. The birds were cutout with the coordinating die...the wings were embossed with the Dotted Swiss folder and the pearls for eyes, sewing, and ribbon finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #305

Hello everyone!! Hope all of you have had a wonderful week!!! We are finally calming down here...the grands have all gone home, the sheets are all washed, kids stuff put away until Christmas break, dusting, sweeping, and bathrooms all cleaned...phew!!!! Now it's time for a little me time....Woot!!!! I will finally get to play in the craft room during office hours and not during the wee hours of the night/morning...LOL!!!! Anyway....it's Wednesday again and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Lori has picked some bold and bright colors for us to play with....they look so pretty together!!!

My card features the Cherish Every Moment stamp set from Taylored Expressions and the sentiment is from the TE Branching Out set.

The image was stamped twice with Memento Tuxedo Black....the large flower was cutout, colored with Copics, and popped up over the other stamped image.  The Sweet Sunday Sketch #231 was used along with a doily, ribbons, sewing, and embossing on the background layer.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD305 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!
