Hello everyone!! I have had some of my Grandkiddos here this week for spring break and boy, have we been busy!!! Shopping, lunches, movies, playing games, working in the yard, flying kites, visiting family...whew!! I did have a little time this afternoon to stamp while the girls played on the laptop and Cole played with his cars.
This card is for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and I used the Color Throwdown colors this week; Wild Wasabi, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Early Expresso.
The tree trunk, leaves, and sentiment from Waltzingmouse's Asian Garden set were stamped with Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip, cut out, and attached with foam dots. Brown twine was wrapped around the the trunk and lavender pearls were added to the leaves and butterflies. A Stampin Up! scalloped border punch was used to create the scallops around the edge.
This is kind of a stretch for me but I love to try new things....what new things did you try this week???
Gotta go fix popcorn for tonight's movie...they want to watch Harry Potter...oh boy!!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a great St. Patty's Day!!!!!!

Hi Joan,
It sounds like you and your grandkids had the best time this week! Whew, you guys stayed busy.
I like the colors you have used for your round card design today. Love the double scallop border edge and the twine wrap on the tree. What a cool card!

Sounds like your grand children are have a wonderful time.
Sooooooo Pretty. Love the design and colors.
Fabulous creation Joan. Love how the twine wraps the tree.
Glad you had a great time with the kids, I'm exhausted thinking about it.
Fantastic card, Joan, it has a very oriental look to it. It's good to try new things....the new thing I did this week was partly inspired by you actually. I'd been meaning to try a lattice effect on a card ever since I saw Anna Griffin on QVC here recently, and so when I saw your lattice-effect card earlier this week it reminded me, and it just happened to fit in with a card I needed to make.
Sounds like loads of fun with the grandkids, but no wonder you needed a nap! CoB
