Color Throwdown Challenge #186

Good morning everyone!!! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! The dynamic Danielle is our hostess this week and she has picked some beautiful colors that look so warm and homey....I just had to go shabby/vintage with them!!!!

My card features the Beautiful Wishes sentiment from Rubbernecker ....it was distressed along the edges as was the background which was stamped with Rubbernecker's French Script background stamp. I also added a layer of My Minds Eye Stella Rose dp, a Cherry Lynn vine diecut, a KaiserCraft wooden birdcage, buttons, lace, seam binding, and flowers. This was fun to make because I just kept adding and adding....LOL!!!

This is also for a couple of new challenges....the first one is called  Crafty Friends Challenge to make something vintage and the Oozak Challenge which is anything goes.

This is also for Bunny Zoe's Challenge to make something shabby chic/vintage and the
Stamps & Fun = Creativity  bingo challenge...I went diagonal with flowers, lace, and sentiment.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors to play along...use what you have that is similar to the challenge colors. Be sure to add CTD186 to the keywords when you upload your card to an online gallery so we can find your work!!

Just For Fun!!

Good morning everyone....hope all is well with you!! I had a great day yesterday...stamped all afternoon and made such a mess!! Why can't I make a card or 2 without trashing my whole craft room???? I have a 4' x 8' island in the middle of my area and it's covered...I mean ya can't even see the counter top...yikes!!! I guess it's no stamping for me today...just cleaning :(  Anyway.....

I made this card for the iSpy Sketch challenge...this was a new challenge to me and I just love the sketch!!! I used papers from October Afternoon's Red Light Green Light...the scalloped diecut is from My Favorite Things as is the rolled rose die. Oval Nestabilities were used for the Crafty Secrets sentiment from their Glamour Girls set and sewing, twine, green ribbon for the leaves, and a pearl finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - dies or punches
2. Lexi's Creations - focus on the sentiment
3. Stampalot Challenge - Happy Birthday
4. 2 Sisters Challenge - birthday fun

Thanks for visiting....have a great day!!!

Owlways and Forever!!

Good Saturday morning everyone.....what a great day!!! Mackenzie and I are going to my parents this morning to weed one of their flower gardens....Mackenzie would much rather stay in bed and sleep till noon but we have work to do!! Next time, she might think twice about asking to stay at grandmas...LOL!!! We worked on this card together last night...Mackenzie punched the flowers and added them to the card...I love having a helper in the craft room!!!!
I used my new My Cute Stamps set called Owlways Friends. The tree was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the leaves were colored with Copics. The punched flowers were adhered with glue dots and brown pearls were added to the centers. The owls were colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The paper is from Echo Parks Country Drive and the seam binding is the finishing touch.

Miss Caitlyn had a soccer game Thursday evening...the little 4 and 5 year olds are so much fun to watch!! Caitlyn is the smallest player on her team but she still gets out there and tries....this old grandma gets all excited when she kicks the ball...it doesn't go far but at least she makes a connection...LOL!!

She is practicing her footwork....

and here is the kick.....off it goes...whoohoo!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!!!

Good morning everyone!!! I finally got into the craft room after my wild weekend....we had 3 soccer games and two trips to Austin so we were pooped yesterday!!!  With three Grands in soccer, we have been on the road quite a bit!! Anyway...I got some happy mail yesterday and just had to ink up my new goodies!!! This
cute little bee is from Lil' Inkers Sweet Bee set...doesn't she have the cutest face!!!She was colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up on foam dots. The background paper is Echo Park's Country Road and the sewing, ribbon, grass diecut, and the fun little puffy felt flowers finish it off.

I thought I would share a couple pics of Mackenzie....she plays forward and is such a fast runner, just like her daddy!! David played soccer in high school and has the bad knees to prove it....it's not a game for for the faint of heart, that's for sure!!!

They lost the game but really did a great job!!!

The Iris Club's annual Iris Show is in two weeks and my hybrids are blooming now...yikes!!! I won't have any to show at this rate!!! This one is called Gaze...

This is called Obiwan Kenobi...I won second place in the blended catagory last year with this beauty!!

Good morning everyone....it's so nice to be back among the living!!!! I have been sick for a week and just yesterday finally felt like creating!! My fever is gone but the cough hangs on and on and on...what a pain!! I hope you are all healthy and enjoying all the mild spring weather....it's so nice to go outside without a coat!! Our grass is green and the iris and daffodils are all blooming....we even have a few bluebonnets!! I thought the drought would prevent them from blooming but they are pretty hardy. Anyway.......

I had a bunch of stuff sitting on my counter so I started organizing...then I thought...hummm...this would look good with that and Ooooh, I forgot I had that!! Sooo, this is what came together...no stamping...just stuff!!
The kraft heart was run through the crimper and sponged with some Vintage Cream ink. The Girls Paperie designer paper was sewn and distressed and the pearl trail was added to the little corrugated cardboard  butterfly. Lace, a button, stick pin, flower, ribbon, twine, and the wood letters finish it off.

This is for a few challenges:

2. Craft-Room Challenge - vintage/shabby
3. Crafty Sentiments Designs - things with wings
