Saturday's Inspiration Challenge

The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today comes form the art work of Don Li-Legar, a Canadian artist who uses color, light, and texture to create Asian abstract artwork rich in Asian style and form. I didn't pick any one piece as my inspiration..... I combined several ideas and tried to recreate something Asian yet elegant. I just love this Hero Arts Orchid stamp and wanted to use it along with the Memory Box Grove paper to make a birthday card for a friend. The image was stamped on a piece of the Memory Box dp with Memento Black. I used the same paper on the background layer and the sentiment layer. The sentiment is from the Girlfriend stamp set by Crafty Secrets. The sentiment layers were cut with Nestabilities...I turned the image a little sideways to create interest with the other angled images. A Martha Stewart punched butterfly, black pearls and black shear ribbon from Flourishes, LLC finish it off. Thanks for visiting!!! I will be stamping most of the day today so I may have more to upload!!
Recipe: Stamps: Hero Arts and Crafty Secrets
Paper: Memory Box, Black, True Thyme
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Pearss, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, MS Butterfly Punch
