Good Saturday morning everyone!!! It has been raining here for a few days and boy, is everything growing!!! My cousin and his wife from Iowa have been visiting for a few days...they brought their golf clubs but couldn't play. I know they are a little bummed especially since they are going home tomorrow. Ya know it will be sunny and warm the day after they leave...LOL!!! Anyway....I made this card a few days ago but didn't have the time to upload what with working and visiting. A retired Stampin Up! background stamp called Riot of Petals was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics. Good morning everyone!! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another  Color Throwdown Challenge!! Kristin is out hostess and she graciously provided the CTD designers with some fabulous digi papers she designed that match this weeks colors perfectly...how cool is that!!! Her papers are called Candy Kisses and can be found at
the My Time Made Easy store.
Along with Kristin's beautiful papers, I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #38. The adorable little Rubbernecker Stuffed Bear #88-06 was colored with Copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The Be Mine Text sentiment #28-03 is also from Rubbernecker and the heart was made using Martha Stewart Punches.....ribbon, twine, and a button finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Stuffed Bear #88-06, Be Mine text sentiment #28-03

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Good morning everyone and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!
I hope you all get to do something wonderful with someone special to you....I get to work....what a bummer!!! Maybe my DH will take me out for supper...a girl can dream, can't she...LOL!!!! I may have to take my hubby out but he can pay...sounds like a plan to me!!!!!
I made these cards for some friends but haven't got them in the mail yet.....shame on me :(
I had an idea for the design and kept stamping  till I got the look I wanted, which was the first card. Then I looked at all the practice samples and decided I couldn't let them go to waste so I made two more cards.
They are all kinda the same but different. This one uses stampes from Verve's Heart to Heart set and Verve's Hearts on Fire set. Silver metallic paper was used for the matting and a red heart shaped doily filled in the background. Memento's Lady Bug, Angel Pink, London Fog, and Tuxedo inks were used and Baker's Twine finished it off.

This one uses three retired Stampin Up! sets; Lace Heart, happy Hearts, and Gentler Times. Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and Going Gray inks were used along with silver metallic paper and baker's twine.
The same Verve stamp sets and Memento inks were used here but I changed the matting paper to Real Red .....I added a heart shaped button and Baker's Twine to finish it off.

Thanks for popping in today....I hope you have a super FABULOUS Valentines Day!!!!

Another Valentine

Good morning everyone!!! I'm still making Valentines....hopefully I can get them to the post office later on today. I know they will be late but I wouldn't want to send anyone into shock because they received their Valentine on time...LOL!!! An old 1998 Stampin Up! set called Kindness Shared was used for this card. The heart was colored with copics and a Cheery Lynn Designs diecut was used for the background layer. This will go to my DD Holly and her hubby, John.
We went to our DGD Caitlyn's first soccer game yesterday morning and boy was it cold...it was down in the 40's!!! This old grandma had on 2 shirts, jeans, coat, mittens, and a blanket and I was still freezing!! I can't believe those little 4 and 5 year olds lasted out on the field for the while game!!! Caitlyn's daddy ( our son Steve in the green hat) is the coach...he had to rescue one player due to crying and another one because he had to go to the bathroom. Coaching little ones is a far cry from coaching 11 and 12 year olds like Caitlyn's brother, Ryan...tooo funny!!!

Caitlyn is #4 and the smallest player on the team, yet....
she gave it her all!!! They won 4-1...Whoohoo!!!
Mackenzie, our 12 year old DGD went with us and Caitlyn was thrilled!! Max is her buddy!!
Once we got back to Grandma's, we had to make Valentines....and play with play dough, magnetic paper dolls, watch cartoons, spill soda and glitter all over the craft room...ai yi yi!!!!!! Now I know why God gives children to  young people....LOL!!!!
Thanks for stopping by...have a great Sunday!!!!

Vintage Valentines

Good Friday morning everyone...it's almost the weekend...yeaaaaaa!!! We are going to our granddaughter Caitlyn's first soccer game Saturday morning and then she will come home with us for the night. She is 4
going on 13 and no bigger than a minute!! I'm sure we will spend a few hours in the craft room so she can make some Valentines.  Speaking of Valentines, I thought I would show you the vintage type Valentines I made for the ladies at my church craft group.
I used Nestabilities hearts, heart shaped doilies, sentiments from a variety of sets, and diecuts from K&Co. that I bought last year.

I used a Layers of Color art stencil  and sponged Rose Red onto the Pretty in Pink heart that was cutout  with a heart shaped Nestabilities.

A to and from stamp was used on the back to address the Valentines.

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!!!

She's So Sweet!!

Good morning everyone!!! It's Thursday and today we are going out to lunch with my parents. They received a gift certificate to Cracker Barrel and it's burning a whole in Dad's pocket!! I love to go to CB...it's so much fun to do a little shopping while you wait, especially at the candy counter!! I love all that old fashioned stuff!!! Anyway....I won a challenge at the Catered Crop this week and Linda sent me this adorable image to play with....Heather Ellis of Pure Innocence fame sponsored the challenge and provided images for the Catered Crop DT. Isn't she just the cutest evah!!!???!!!

Her dress and butterfly were paper pieced with papers from The Girls Paperie Vintage Whimsy...she was colored with copics and I did darken the dress color with copics so it would  look a little better with her skin color. Spellbinders dies were used for the flower and leaves and the Vintage Whimsy background papers were sewn and distressed. Ribbon, lace, pearls, button, and twine finish it off.

Thanks for visiting....have a great day!!!!

Color Throwdown #178

Good morning everyone!! Are you ready for another Color Throwdown Challenge?? Keva  is our hostess with the mostess this week and she has picked a warm and sunny group of colors and a mighty yummy
inspiration photo!!!

When I saw the colors I knew I wanted to use the Cat's Meow Happy Owlentines Day set...aren't those little love owls just the cutest!!! The sun was cut out of Papertrey Ink's Summer Sun using a round Nestabilities. The owl image was stamped three times...once on three different cardstocks....Cajun Craze,  Early Expresso, and Kiwi Kiss. The owls were cutout of Cajun Craze and embossed, the branch was cut out of Early Expresso, and the leaves were cut out of  Kiwi Kiss. They were all popped up with pop dots and the sentiment from the same set, sticker hearts, and Summer sun ribbon finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Catered Crop Challenge - hearts
2. Everybody Art Challenge - love
3. Try it on Tuesdays Challenge - card for a true love
4. Tuesday Throwdown - be my valentine
5. Craft Your Passion - anything goes and no designer paper

Papertrey Ink's Day 2 Contest

Hello everyone!! I had a great day today...I made 18 Valentines for the ladies in my church craft group and I also made this card for Papertrey's 5th Anniversary day 2 celebration!! Nichole Heady provided us with a sheet of freebie digi images that each of the 2012 Stamp Designers contributed to.  The challenge was to print out the sheet onto white cardstock and incorporate one of the images into a project. I used the sweet little bird image by Heather Nichols....Papertrey Ink's Everyday Blessings paper matched the colors perfectly. A PTI die was used to cut the bottom edge and the lace and PTI button finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Technique Lover's Challenge #363

Hello everyone!! Hope you have recovered from all the Super Bowl excitement and are ready to do a little stamping!!!! My TLC Challenge on Splitcoast is all about stripes....I just love striped designer paper but I can never seem to find just the right color combo soooooo.....my challenge to you this week is to make your own striped designer paper!!  This is also a good way to use up all those scraps that have a way of building up in drawers and files or on the floor...LOL!!!

Deets:
1. Cut thin strips of designer paper or cardstock long enough to hang over the background with a paper cutter so you have straignt lines...use what ever you have on hand and in the colors you want for your design. You can make some wider than others to vary the pattern.
2. Score lines on your background paper at 1/2 inch intervals so you will have a straight pattern to follow.
3. Add glue or use score tape on the back of the strips and adhere to the background paper to create the stipe pattern.
4. When dry, trim off the overhanging pieces.
5. You can use a vertical, horizontal, or a diagonal pattern...what ever you like!!

For my card, a diagonal pattern was used...left to right on the bottom layer and right to left on the top layer. The flower image from Layers of Color was colored with copics, cutout, and popped up with foam dots. The sentiment, also from Layers of Color, was tucked under the flower bouquet and the ribbon finishes it off. The colors are kinda blinding but since we are having such an overcast day, I needed to brighten things up!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Stampalot Challenge - in the garden
2. The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan Challenge - ribbon
3. The Paper Players - flowers

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!

Sisterhood Sundays #9

Good morning everyone!! It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Rubbernecker's Sisterhood Sundays!! Each week one of the challenge teams will host a challenge and this week we have a beautiful inspiration photo...aren't the colors beautiful!!??!!!!

Mr. Rubbernecker is giving away a prize so check out all the deets and challenge rules on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog!

I'm afraid I made my card without the inspiration photo within site so my blue is a little off...well, I guess it's a lot off but I did get the pink and the tree in there...LOL!!!! I also have one more Valentine done....yeaaaaa!!!
I used Rubbernecker's Flourish Tree #556...it was stamped over the brayered background and pearls and pearl hearts were added. Flower Soft was added to the bottom and lace trim, seam binding, stick pins, button, and silver cording finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Flourish Tree #556
Paper: White, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Ranger Broken China, Memento Rich Cocoa

One Shabby, One CAS

Good morning everyone!!! It's finally Friday....yeaaaaa!!! For some reason, this has been a very long week....maybe that's because I have been looking forward to the weekend!! We are going to go see our son and his family...they are remodeling their kitchen and hopefully, we can give them a little help. We remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and believe me, it's not easy living with construction...the no cooking part wasn't too hard to take but the sheet rock dust was terrible!!!! Anyway....
I did a little stamping last night. Some happy mail from Redlead Paperworks came yesterday and I just had to ink up this beautiful bird stamp!! It was colored lightly with copics and a little stitching and distressing helped give it a shabby look. The background paper from My Minds Eye was sewn and distressed and the Spellbinders scalloped diecut, Webster's Pages Bloomer, Spellbinders leaf diecuts, lace, button, and twine finish it off.

I changed gears a bit on this one....CAS to the max!!! The cute little Stampin Up! Sweetheart Candy II (retired) hearts were stamped to create a heart banner (the line was hand drawn). The sentiment is from Verve's Hearts on Fire...pretty simple but perfect for mailing!!

Hope you have a great Friday....thanks for spending a little bit of it with me!!!!!

Valentine Wish

Good morning everyone!!! Boy, did I have a wonderful day yesterday!!!! I was sooo thrilled to be chosen as a Moxie Fabber on the Moxie Fab World blog...how cool is that!!!???!!!  I felt like a Queen all day, however, I had quite a time trying to convince my sweet hubby that royalty doesn't cook and clean...LOL!!!
Anyway...I made this card last night while I was watching the Bachelor...those girls are really starting to show their true colors...call me crazy but I love those silly reality shows!!!

My card featurers the adorable Great Impressions Valentine....it is colored with copics and the background paper is from Bo Bunny's Smoochable dp. The scallop die is from My Favorite Things,  the Spellbinder's heart die was used to cutout the pink felt heart, and a Martha Stewart Punch was used for the green heart . The button, seam binding, and gold cording finish it off.

The Sweet Sunday Sketch #151 was used for the layout and the Whoopsie Daisy Challenge for the colors-pink and brown

I also made this for a few other challenges:
 1. Stamps R Us Challenge - Valentine/love
2. Crafty Pad Designs - Valentine
3. Card Caravan Challenge - punches/dies

Gabe's Birthday Card

Good morning everyone!! Hope you had a great weekend and are ready to face the week ahead!!! My DGD Mackenzie stayed with us Friday night and she went with us on Saturday to buy a tread mill....it came in a box with a hundred tiny pieces to put together!!! It's a good thing my sweet hubby can put anything together....he's a genius, I tell ya!!! I actually did 20 minutes on it today and didn't even get winded....hopefully I can do a little longer tomorrow and each day after that!!!

Anyway...I started to make this card last year at a swap in Georgetown, Texas but never finished it. Since my DGS Gabe is having a birthday next month (he will be 5), I thought I better get it done!!

The Birthday Elephant  is from Inky Antics...it was colored with Copics, the ears were paper pieced, and it was popped up on several Nesties layers. The banner was cut out using the Pennant Border die from Taylored Expressions.

Honeypop paper was used on the balloon on the inside....how fun is that!!!

This is also for a few other challenges:
3. ABC Challenge - zoo animals
4. Fussy and Fancy Challenge - polka dots
5. Phindy's Place Challenge - birthday card for a child

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Monday!!!!
