Hello everyone...hope you are having a great weekend so far!! Today we helped my parents celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary...Whoohoo!!! They were married on January 27, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dad was in the Navy and stationed there after he spent 2 years at Pearl Harbor.
This is the card I made for them...I also made it for the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast to use Chocolate Chip and Kraft cardstock somewhere on our card. I had a rejected piece of embossed vanilla which was brayed on the negative side of the folder with Crumb Cake left over from Monday's TLC challenge....I used it to cutout the damask shape with a Tim Holtz die. Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip were used for the shadow behind the shape. Martha Stewart Punches were used for the leaves and pink satin flowers were added to finish it off. The sentiment is from Verve's Anniversary Birds set.
Thanks for stopping by!! I'm off to bed since it's almost midnight and I'm about to turn into a pumpkin...hope you have a great day!!

Oh my Joan ... this is gorgeous. I had to read your post twice; at first it looked like you cut the shape into the front of the card and htne offset the embossed die cut over it but slightly offset. Such a great use for that die and I love the effect.
PS - Your's is the first blog I've been able to access (blog issues here) so I hope this post actually works. :)
