Hello everyone...are y'all getting ready for the big celebration tonight?? My DH and I will be staying home this year with a good movie and a bowl of popcorn. Not too exciting but it works for us!!
I made this card Tuesday for the Teapot Tuesday challenge. Sabrina (Cook22) was the Teapot Tuesday hostess with the mostess who filled in for da Mudder. She took us to the woods to look for bears, trees, and all the other things you can find there...not sure if I really want to find any bears but we should have fun!!! I went in style with my little camper...the grandkids were all sooo anxious and they were driving us crazy asking "Are we there yet??" I bet you have heard that a hundred times!!! The image is a paper cut from the Mr. Campy kit...I did a little sewing around the background layers and the bears from Happy Camper were stamped with Chocolate Chip. Ribbon and the tree brads finish it off.
This is also for the DDC challenge (found in the SCS challenge forum thread) this week hosted by Fran (Francie G.) to make a card showing what we would really like to be doing right now!! Whatever it might be, that is what your card should depict! I would love to be camping right now but I guess with all the rain, sleet, and other bad weather around here, I'll only dream about it!!
Please join us in our little challenge and add DDC to the keywords section of your upload so we can find your card. You can find all the DDC cards here.

I also made this card last Tuesday for the color challenge on Splitcoast. Betty picked Dusty Durango, Basic Gray, and Barely Banana.
I found a scrap piece of Anna Griffin dp for the background and stamped the main image with Basic Gray and Rubbernecker's Floral Silhouette image. Clear bling was colored with a copic and added to the flowers. I did a little sewing around the background layer and lace trim, PTI ribbon, and a heart charm for dessert finished it off.

Paper: Basic Gray, Dusty Durango, Barely Banana, Anna Griffin dp, Vanilla

I also combined the color challenge with last weeks DDC challenge hosted by Joanne (sleepyinseattle) to make a New Years card. The sweet little bird from Little Paper Shop's Christmas Wishes set was stamped with Dusty Durango and matted with Barely Banana. The sentiment from the same set was stamped with Basic Gray and sponged with Barely Banana. Scallops with a Martha Stewart punch, gray pearls, and gray ribbon finish it off.

ps my husband and I (and our 18 yr old son) will be home tonight too watching hockey, a movie and a scrabble game!
Hey, we're staying in too..just lounging around in our jammies. Now that you mention it, popcorn sounds REALLY good. I think I need to get some. :)
All of your cards are beautiful, girl. Love the rustic look of the first one, the sewing and lace on the second...and well, the ORANGE on the third {lol!}. :)
Have a very Happy New Year, my friend. :)
All of your cards are gorgeous, Joan! Bob and I were in bed last night by 10:15 as Bob has to be at work this morning by 8:00. I guess we are just getting old. Happy New Year!
All three cards are fabulous Joan, but the first one is totally adorable! Your ribbon is such a perfect match!
Oh my, Joan!! These are all sooo AMAZING!! Love each and every one of them!!
Fabulous cards, Joan! I LOVE the colors on the first one with the ribbon that matches so nicely!
Oh Joan, you are sooo funny!!! I am just now catching up on my blogging... The holidays really set me back.. I always get this way.. I just get so overwhelmed and I just can't seem to focus on anything, and then it's so hard for me to get back into my scrappy mood. And also, Rick has decided to clear the adjoing acreage that we bought about a year ago and I'm just tooooo old to drag tree limbs and brush, and build fence, but I did, and yesterday around noon with a lot of Tylenol I finally quit complaining!! ha!ha! That should teach him!! Also have been babysitting the grand kids more, so that son and daughter in law can shop, attend their Christmas parties and their New Years party and just have a little time to themselves.. This ole Grandma is plumb tuckered out... And then I had to go back to work this morning, and I didn't hardly get to plat at all, all of those days I was off!! I don't see how you do it, Joan... Well, that's enough complaining, now on to these beautiful cards!!!
The first card is adorable... When do you want to leave??? Give me a call and I will be packed and ready to go by the time you get here!!! :o) Seriously, the little bears and trees are too cute, and I love that ribbon treatment!!!
The next one is beautiful.... I loooove that lace and the the charm is perfect for this dainty card...
And the New Year's Card is gorgeous!!! The colors work sooo well on this card and I love the BG paper, actually I love everything about this card...
Fantastic job, Joan!!! Hugs!!!
