Winter Birthday

Good morning everyone....I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  We had a houseful of family and lots of good food that we are still eating today!!  Call us crazy...we actually got up at 1:30 this morning to go shopping for Black Friday...we bought lots of bargins so I think my sleepless day was worth it!! I have about 90% of my Christmas shopping finished...Whoohoo!!! I may end up doing the rest of it on line....not many bargins there but it sure is easier on the feet...LOL!!! I sure wish the good fairy would come and wrap everything, now...I would even pay her to take that job off my hands!!! Anyway....I thought I would share the birthday card I made for my Dad...It's really hard for me to make masculine cards so this was a challenge for me!!

The Inkadinkado image was stamped on Kraft with Handsome Hunter and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. It was framed with vanilla that was cutout with a deckled rectangle Nestabilities,  stamped with on old retired stampin Up! plaid background, sponged with Walnut Distress ink and adhered to the image layer with foam tape. A thin frame was cutout with two different sized Nesties and adhered to the edge. The twine, button, and home made tag with Snap Stamps sentiment finishes it off.

This is also for  The Crafty Purple Frog Challenge to make something special for someone (my dad), The Crafty Ribbons Challenge to make a tag, and The Rainbow Lady's Challenge to make a card for a man (my dad).

Thanks for stopping by...have a great weekend!!! We will have 4 of our grandsons here in a few minutes to play while their parents shop...wish me luck...LOL!!

Hi Joan,
I am sure your dad will love his card. It looks like a nice winter retreat just right for a special birthday celebration! I like the rustic look, but it does look so very different from your usual style. (Even though I have seen it vary before). I think it's cool.
I didn't do any black friday shopping, I just went in to work. But 1:30? That's too much for me. I hope you are getting rest now. You talked about getting a fairy to wrap your Christmas presents, I thought that was supposed to be the best part, the most fun besides the giving. lol

OK, I will call you crazy :) I am not sure I would have the patience for shopping on Black Friday, but sounds like you did well. Your card for your dad is wonderful, you did an awesome job with making a masculine card. Now go rest the feet and shop on Cyber Monday :)

Glad y'all had a good Thanksgiving too. We still have way too much food around here!
Can't believe you braved Black Friday! That's one thing I've never done. Nice to have most of your shopping out of the way now though.
