Girly vs. Masculine

Good morning everyone.....hope you are doing well on this beautiful Sunday morning and you are doing lots of fun things this weekend!!! We went to a movie Friday night...we saw the Lincoln Lawyer and it was pretty good...of course, anything with Matthew McConaughey in it is wonderful!!!! Last night we met my DD Holly and her DH John at my parents and hung out for a while. It's always fun to catch up on all the family news!! Anyway...I did get in the craft room for a little while to play with some new goodies!!
I used a new Unity Itty Bitty stamp called Love for this card...it was stamped with Rich Cocoa, colored with copics, and the image was sponged while it was still in the Nestabilities. Sewing was done around the background borders and lace, gold cording, a rolled felt flower, Candy Dot center, and plastic flowers and leaf from Prima finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: Unity Itty Bitty called Love, Paper: White, Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, Memory Box dp called Brioche, Accessories: Felt, Rolled Flower Die from MFT, Candy Dot, Gold Cording, Prima flowers and Leaves, Lace, Nestabilities, Sewing Machine, Copics

This is for the following challenges:

1. Wee Memories: favorite color combo (red, blue, brown)

2. Drunken Stampers - sponging

3. Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - flowers or flowers and pearls

4. Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge - use dies or punches and ribbon/lace

I made this card yesterday for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. The hostess was my sweet friend Anne (Itsapassion) and she picked an awesome site called Outer Bankes Trading Group...it was full of beachy and nautical goodies to draw inspiration from.

I have lots of men in my family and almost no masculine cards in my stash...you should here the whines when I give them a card with ribbons and lace...LOL!!! Anyway, I hope to fix that little problem by using the Yacht Club papers from Webster's Pages...I love the nautical theme!! The challenge site was the perfect place to find some *guy* inspiration...thanks, Anne!! I chose this pillow for my inspiration and used Unity's Celebrate set that coordinates with the Webster's Pages paper. The striped sailboat is the stamped image....it was colored with copics and popped up with dimensionals. The celebrate sentiment was stamped on the dp and sewing and distressing were done around the edges. Twine and a wooden botton finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: Unity Celebrate Paper: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Webster's Pages Yacht Club dp Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa Accessories: Sewing Machine, Button, Twine

Morning Joan, nice to see a girlie and a guy card in the same post. Well, what can I say, I love the girlie card and how you picked up all the colours from the backing paper in your embellishments. Such a nice stamped image too, the kind you can use for lots of different cards. And your boat card is perfect for men, no wails of protest there, twine and a chunky button are very manly! CoB
