Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks: Discover Your Wings and Chalkboard Elements 2

Hello everyone and welcome to day 3 of the Taylored Expressions  November Sneak Peeks!!! Today I am showcasing the new coordinating die for the Discover Your Wings stamp set  called Discover Your Wings - Flowers and the Chalkboard Elements 2 stamp set.

The flower stamp from the Discover Your Wings set was colored with markers and stamped on Choice Snow White card stock. It was cut out with the Discover Your Wings - Flowers die.  The die was also used to cut out a black image. It was adhered to the back of the flower die cut a little off center so it looked like a shadow. The die cut was then adhered to the background that was embossed with a Dotted Swiss embossing folder. The TE Lace Chain border die was used for the scallop at the bottom and the sentiment from The Chalkboard Elements 2 set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the Choice Black card stock layer....it was adhered to the background with glue dots.

The Butterfly was stamped with melon mambo, cut out, and adhered with foam tape.   The Doodlebug Sprinkles and Baker's Twine finish it off.

The flourish stamp from the previously released Chalkboard Elements set and the sentiment from the new Chalkboard Elements 2 set were used to create the sentiment for my second card. Combined, both of these sets have 47 stamps....WOW!! Mix and match them to create all kinds of sentiments!!

The sentiment was cut out with the Label Stacklets 7 die and the same die was used to cutout 2 die cuts with calypso coral card stock. They were adhered to the back of the sentiment a little off center on both sides to create a thin mat.
The flowers  in the background from the Celebrate Life set were stamped with calypso coral onto the Choice Buttercream card stock  and the leaves and stems were stamped with certainly celery.  The button, twine, and wrinkled seam binding finishes it off.

My last card features the Discover Your Wings -Flowers die...one image was cut from Choice Black and one from Choice Snow White...they were adhered together a little off center so the white served as the shadow.  A small piece of black polka dot ribbon was tied around one of the stems and then the die cut was glued to the background pool party card stock. The sentiment from the Discover Your Wings set was stamped with Memento  Tuxedo Black....this is very CAS  but makes a big statement!!

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Taylored Expressions Baker's Dozen DT....you are going to love all their awesome projects!!!

Hello everyone!!!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Melody is out hostess and she has picked some beautiful colors for us to create with!!!! Now, I want to welcome our November/December Guestie...the fabulous Cindy Lawrence....Woot!!!!!

My card features the adorable little town from the Taylored Expressions Baby, It's Cold Outside set. It was colored with Copics, cutout, and adhered to the background with foam tape. Additional trees from the same stamp were added...they were also colored with Copics, cut out, and popped up with foam dots. The background is a piece of tempting turquoise card stock that was run through the Cuttlebug with a swirly embossing folder. A Snow White ink pad was run over the raised embossed area for a little dimension. The snowflakes were cut out of Choice Buttercream card stock with the Taylored Expressions Make a Snowflake dies. The  green snowflake under the button was made with the snowflake die and Taylored Expressions  Split Pea Felt.

The sentiment from the same set was stamped with old olive ink and the button, twine, and cream colored pearls finish it off!!

Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Wine a Little and You're My Hero/Rock On Dies

Hello everyone and welcome to Taylored Expressions  November Sneak Peeks day two!!!
What did you think about all the Pockets and Pages samples from yesterday?? Believe me...once you get started with the Pocket Scrapbooking, you will become obsessed just like me!!!

Today we are featuring several new stamp sets....my samples include the Wine a Little set and the You're My Hero /Rock On Dies!!

The two step grape stamps from the Wine a Little set were stamped with lavender ink onto the Choice Snow White card stock and the flourish stamp was stamped over the top with Memento Tuxedo Black.  It was then cut out with the Label Stacklets 7 die. Two more die cuts were cut with the same die...one with kiwi kiss and one with lavender lace.  The green one was embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder and the lavender one was embossed with a damask folder. The green die cut was used as the mat for the image and the lavender one was used upside down as a scallop (I love it when I can use a die in several different ways!!).

The leaves were stamped with kiwi kiss and old olive, cutout, and popped up with foam tape and the sentiment from the same set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The twine and button finish it off.

My second card features stamps from the You're My Hero set and the coordinating dies called Rock On!  The grunge stamp was stamped on the white background and the blue layer with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. The stars were stamped with so saffron, embossed with clear ep, cut out, and adhered with foam tape. Doodlebug Sprinkles were added to the centers.

The sentiment was stamped with night of navy onto the Choice Snow White card stock and the guitar was stamped with red...they both were embossed with clear ep and the guitar was cutout with the Rock On Dies.

The background paper is from Simple Stories 6x6 paper pad.....  a little sewing was done on the sentiment and a rounded corner finishes it off.

Now,  how about a little inspiration from the Baker's Dozen DT....check it out!!!

Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Pockets & Pages

Hello everyone and welcome to day one of the Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks!!!! I am really excited about this release because it includes a huge selection of stamps and dies for Pocket Scrapbooking!!!! Pocket Scrapbooking was new to me and now I just love it....in fact, I have become a real pocket scrapping manaic!!!

The Taylored Expressions line of  pocket scrapbooking products  are called Pockets and Pages and are designed to work with all the pocket scrapbooking products currently out there on the market. The products are not exclusive to scrapbooking and can easily be used for cards, tags, traditional scrapbooking, and all kinds of altered items.

My pocket page features 7 different Pockets and Pages die sets and one Stamp set:

1. The Pockets and Pages InstaFun stamp set and matching dies called Rock On are what I used for the round sentiments and the camera die: the camera was cut from night of navy card stock and the heart was cut from real red. All three of the sentiments were punched from Choice Snow White card stock with a 1 1/4" circle punch and stamped with real red and night of navy inks

2. The Pockets and Pages Sweet & Simple Alpha Lower die set was used to create the FAB in the upper left pocket. The letters were cut from so saffron card stock.

3. The Pockets and Pages Sweet & Simple #'s die set was used for the 5 also in the upper left pocket.

4. The Pockets and Pages Bubble Out die was used to create the word bubble in the upper left pocket...it was cut from night of navy card stock.

5. The Pockets and Pages Essentials -4x6 dies were used for the red frame around the picture in the lower right pocket.

6. The Pockets and Pages Essentials - 3x4 dies were used for the red frame around the days of the week and the red, yellow, and blue arrows.

7. The Pockets and Pages Bars of the Week dies were used for the upper middle pocket and the yellow Saturday in the middle left pocket.

The pictures are from December, 2010 at my Mother's house...they incluse five of my Grands and my sister, Kathy who was visiting from Iowa. Simple Stories Say Cheese patterned paper was used for the backgrounds and the page sleeve from Simple Stories and the Project Life journaling pen can all be found in the New Products Section of the Taylored Expressions Store.

Now, how about a little inspiration from the Taylored Expressions Baker's Dozen Design Team....check out all their fabulous projects!!

TLC454 Stamp on the Sticky!!

Hello everyone....I have been playing around with some Crystal Effects and came up with a fun challenge for this weeks Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast....it's called Stamp on the Sticky!

Here are the deets:

For a background:
1. Use a brush or your finger to add just a drop or two of water to a quarter size amount of Crystal Effects/Glossy Accents/or even Elmer's Glue
2. Spread the *sticky stuff* on your cardstock and let dry just a little....it really needs to be a little wet to work but not soppy wet.
3.Use a dry background stamp (I used a retired Stampin Up! stamp called Weathered) and  dry stamp on the slightly wet stick stuff (no ink). The stamp will indent into the sticky stuff and leave an image. (Clean the stamp right away!!)
4. Use a heat tool to completely dry the paper.
5. Now, use a damp cloth to pick up a little ink and rub over the paper and then wipe it off. (I used white ink on a dark blue background...my background now looks like frost.
6. You can use a darker ink for a distressed look or use the same color ink as the paper for a subtle change.
7. You can also try this over a stamped image or a colored image....you will have to experiment with different coloring mediums on scratch paper to make sure it doesn't run the colors.
8. I hope you can come play with us...I would love to see what your create!!!!

I used several stamp sets for my sample card: the snowflake stamp from Paper Smooches Swanky Snow Dudes set, the sentiment from the Stampin Up Beautiful Season set, the polar bear stamp from the Stampendous Polar Path set, and the retired SU background stamp called Weathered.  The background paper is Brilliant Blue, the polar bears are colored with Copics, and the punched snowflake, button, and twine finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful day!!!!
