Happy Saturday!!

Good morning everyone!!! It's going to be a great day today!! We have had two days of rain which we needed sooo badly!!! I still have Grandbabies here and my DH went fishing so looks like the boys and I will be stamping together today!! I stayed up till 2AM this morning to finish my Inspiration Challenge card....guess who got up at 6:30??? My DGS Gabe....all week he has been sleeping in till 8:00 or so but the one day I want to sleep in he's up....go figure!!! Anyway....enough whining!!!

I decided to do something waaaaaay out of my comfort zone for the IC challenge on SCS...use browns and black!!! This is the candle I chose to draw my inspiration from. The background was done first by stamping the Clear Dollar Stamps Picket Fence with Versamark and embossing with clear ep. Then the color was applied to the background by smearing Ranger Distress inks Walnut Stain and Frayed Burlap on a craft sheet, misting with water, and running the white cardstock through the watered down colors. This is Sherry's (BadSherry) favorite technique and I learned it from her!! I then misted it with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water and dried it with a heat tool. The CDS's Song Bird Silhouettes and branches were stamped with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep. The branches from the CDS's Silhouette Wishes set and the script stamp from CDS's March Flower of the Month set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. The sentiment from CDS's Elegant Flourishes set was stamped with Archival Jet Black and embossed with clear ep. The brown crocheted blossom and the button with twine threaded through the holes finished it off. This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to thread something and the DDC challenge from 2 weeks ago (I'm just a little late!!) hosted by Beverly (beestamper) to make a one layer card with one *bump*. You can still join in the DDC challenge because there is no time limit...just add DDC to the keywords section of the upload so we can find your cards!!

Thursday's Ways to Use it challenge on SCS was to use frames...altered frames, chipboard frames, paper frames...anything goes!!

I have had this chipboard frame for a while and decided to use it along with the old retired Stampin Up! set called Honey Bear. I also made this for the Stampin B's first challenge to use bees on a card. The images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The frame was covered with some PTI dp and the SEI ribbon was the only embellie...gasp!!!! I stamped the bear twice and popped the head and arm holding the honey pot and used the Stampin Up! scallop punch for the edges.

The closeup shows the head and arm popped up...I love how this adds so much dimension!! The edges of the frame were distressed with a sanding block. Clouds were sponged onto the background with my handy dandy homemade cloud template from Mothermark's awesome tutorial.

I made another frame card this time using my Nestabilities Label 1 dies to cut the frames. The image from Rubbernecker's Fashion Icon 455 set was stamped with Archical Jet Black and embossed with clear ep. It was then colored with copics, covered with Glossy Accents, and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The frames were cut with the Label 1 Nesties and K&Co. glitter paper and attached with dimensionals. The finished size of the card was 4" x 4".

The sentiment, from the same set, bling, clip, and May Arts Ribbon finish it off.

I may need a few of these drinks when my DGS's return to their Daddy's house!!!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Wacky Wednesday and Creative Belli Challenges

Good morning everyone!! It is Wednesday and time for another Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday challenge!!! Jules is the hostess today and she has a great inspiration piece for us..isn't this abstract art piece wild!!! When I first saw it I thought..YIKES!!! After looking at it for a while, I could see lots of possibilities....the colors especially and the white blocks.

I can't wait to see what you come up with! The winner of this week’s challenge will receive a Discount Coupon good for 40% off their entire Rubbernecker order. They will also get to take advantage of all other specials and discounts on the Rubbernecker Stamps home page.

The background was created by applying Brilliant Blue around the edges of the white cardstock and adding Spiced Marmalade in the center using my ink blending tool. The new Rubbernecker Grid background stamp was spritzed with water and stamped over the background colors, heated with a heating tool (faux embossing technique), and then spritzed with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water. The flower flourish image from the new Rubbernecker Flower Silhouettes set was stamped on the background with Brilliant Blue as was the Rubbernecker French Script background. Sewing was done around the edges to complete the background.

I used my Tap and Smash technique on the flowers and pots image from the Rubbernecker Flower Silhouettes set using Ruby Red, So Saffron, Brilliant Blue, and Kiwi Kiss. I tapped the edge of the inkpad at an angle on the stamp from upper right to lower left starting with the lightest color to the darkest. I then worked the same colors from the upper left corner to the lower right to create the plaid effect. I just used Ruby Red and So Saffron on the flowers. I stamped 2 images, cut out the pots and 2 flowers from one image to pop over the second. Brilliant Blue was sponged around the distressed edges, piercing was done in the top right corner and a little hand stitching was done to mimic the yellow X's in the inspiration piece. The a button and shear ribbon finishes it off.

Please visit the other Rubbernecker Red Hot Mommas blogs for lots of creative inspiration and to see their take on the inspiration artwork!

Creative Belli Challenge

I used another new Rubbernecker stamp set called Wild Flowers for this triple challenge card. This is for the Belli challenge to use dry embossing (the pink background layer and the butterflies were run through the cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder), Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply challenge to have something hanging (The pink layer is hanging from the hardware and ribbon), and the OCC challenge hosted by Silke for the sketch.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. The big pink flower was stamped twice and one was cutout and popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment, from the same set, was also stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black , cutout out with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals. The Martha Stewart punch was used for the butterflies and pearls were added for a little glam.

The background cardstock is Prism, the designer paper is from Basic Grey's Euphoria, and the May Arts ribbon is from Rubbernecker.

Be sure to visit the Creative Belli Design Team Member's blogs to read more details about their designs. You will find lots of awesome ideas!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast or PCP, be sure to add CBC63 in the keywords section.

Thinking of You

Hello everyone!! I hope your weekend was wonderful!! We had family over, cooked a ham, and ate toooooo much!! My DS ended up taking his wife to the hospital Sunday afternoon and since she was admitted, we have had the 3 kiddos. They will stay with us all week...sure is different having a 2 year old under foot all day!!! He misses the older 2 who are in school ....I actually made my color challenge card with him hanging on my leg while he pounded my toe with a toy hammer. What ever it takes to make him happy while I stamp....I am such a crazy Grandma!! Anyway.......he is taking a nap now...bless his little heart!!!
I made this card for a friend who has been having some troubles lately...just wanted her to know we care.
The Clear Dollar Stamps Silhouette Wishes images were stamped with Chocolate Chip Craft and embossed with clear ep. The Pretty in Pink layer was cutout with Nestabilities and then run through the cuttlebug with the dotted Swiss folder. The layers were all popped up with dimensionals and flowers, ribbon, and punched butterfly finish it off.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day!! This old Grandma is going to go take a nap, too!!!

This card is for today's Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. This week’s inspiration comes from the Grandin Road online store, which specializes in home and gift merchandise.
When I saw this stationary with the little shoes, I knew I wanted to use my new Rubbernecker sets called Fashion Icons. I used images from both sets...stamped them with Archival Jet Black onto PTI's Raspberry Fizz cardstock. This is kinda bright but I needed something to wake me up this morning.
The background paper is Papertrey Ink dp and the layers were cutout with Nesties.
Quick and easy....perfect for a favorite girlfriend!!
Now I'm off to fight the crowd at the grocery store....gotta get something for Easter dinner tomorrow. Hope they left me a ham!! Have a great day and a wonderful Easter!!!!!

Rubbernecker Release and Blog Stroll

EDIT: The stroll is now officially closed. Thanks soooo much to everyone who participated ...the winners will be announced later today on the Rubbernecker Blog! Good Luck!!!!!

Good morning and welcome to the very first Rubbernecker Blog Stroll! Today Rubbernecker Stamps releases their first new images (excluding Kittie Kits) in 10 years. There’s a big difference in the way the images are packaged now. The new releases are sets . . . yes... you heard correctly, sets!

To celebrate this release, we invite you to Blog Stroll along with the Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas. The Stroll begins at the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog where you will find all the details on how to win one of the sets being revealed or even possibly the GRAND PRIZE.

If you haven’t started at the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog, you should go there now so you don't miss a thing! In order to win the set revealed on my blog today called Flower Silhouettes, you must leave me a comment. A random number will be drawn on Friday, 12:00 Noon. Here is my phrase clue for the GRAND PRIZE: stamping. To find the next clue, stroll over to Juliana's Blog.

I just love this silhouette stamp from the new Flower Silhouettes set!! I used a fun technique to color this image...I call it tap and smash!! Let me try to explain....using Regal Rose, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Summer Sun ink pads, I tapped the edge of the pad at an angle on the pots working from right to left first using Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss and then Rose Red. Then I did the same thing going from left to right to create the plaid effect. I smashed the Regal Rose and Summer Sun ink pads on the flowers and the Kiwi Kiss on the leaves. I then repeated the process on another image, cutout two of the flowers to pop with dimensionals and added SEI Mimosa Brads. The designer papers and the flowers are also from SEI's Mimosa collection soon to be carried in the Rubbernecker Store.

The cardstock is Prism and the White is Prism's Simply Smooth White. The May Arts ribbon will be available by the yard at Rubbernecker soon!!

The close up shows the distressing and sponging around the edges of the image, the use of the Itty Bitty background over the sponging, and the shimmer from the embossed SEI dp.

Thanks for visiting and have fun on the stroll...sure glad Sherry named this a stroll because I'm too old and fat to hop...LOL!!!

Creative Belli Challenge

The Belli Challenge this week found on the Creative Belli Blog is to use cello bags to create something fun!! I'm sure you all have times when you need a gift for one reason or another....wouldn't it be great to always have something ready to go!!! My little treat bag is just tooo easy and fun to make!! I colored the adorable House Mouse image with copics, added the sentiment from Stampin Up's Fancy Flexible Phrases set and mounted the image layer on turquoise Doodlebug Sugared cardstock. The background dp is from Stampin Up and Basic Grey's Urban Prairie. The cello bag was filled with M&M's and stapled shut. The piece of Urban Prairie was scalloped with the SU Scalloped border punch and attacked to the So Saffron that was also scalloped with the punch. The So Saffron dp was folded over the top of the cello bag and stapled to the bag. The image layers were attached and the twill finished it off. Easy peasy and sooo fun to make!!

Isn't this image adorable....gotta love those sweet little mice!!!

April Showers

Hello everyone! I'm a little late getting this posted...today is my Mother's 89th birthday so I had to go sing Happy Birthday to her. We took her out to eat last Saturday and we will celebrate again on Easter Sunday when all the kids are over. I guess when you turn 89, you can celebrate all week!!! I have to go find her a new Scrabble Dictionary...she has one that is over 20 years old and falling apart!! She loves to play games, especially Scrabble and Cribbage and she wins too!!!

Anyway....
The Color Challenge on Splitcoast was to use Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Close to Cocoa. I love the colors today...soo springy!! Nothing shouts Spring like April showers so I had to use Clear Dollar Stamps Charliene April Showers with her little umbrella!! She was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics.

The Picket Fence also from Clear Dollar Stamps was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. The umbrella, boots, and ducks from the April Showers set were paper pieced with SU dps and the umbrella's 3 layers were popped up with dimensionals. The little blue umbrella brad was added for the ducks protection....they need to stay out of the rain, too!!! Shading was sponged and the raindrops from the April Showers set were stamped with Bashful Blue and the Stampin Up scalloped punch was used for all the scallops. Buttons, velvet ribbon, and the sentiment from the April Showers set finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day!!

Sweet Little Sugar Nellie

Good morning!! I actually went outside and did a little weeding this morning...I should have the yard looking pretty good in a month or so!!! Boy, do I need to win the lottery so I can hire a gardner, maid, cook, and a stamping assistant...someone to clean up after me in the craft room...whoohoo!!! Oh, well, a girl can dream...anyway....

I just love these sweet little Sugar Nellie images....this one from Funky Kits is called Daisy and I colored her for the Copic Creations' Challenge #1 to color face/skin tones. I used E00 Skin White as the base color and shading was done with R11 Pale Cherry Pink.

The designer paper is from Junkitz's Summer Collection called Sunshine and Summer Mulitstripe soon to be found at Rubbernecker Stamps. The flourishes were punched from an EK Success punch, the blue Candy Dots were from Taylored Expressions, and the flowers from Hobby Lobby.
Thanks for coming by this morning and I hope you have a great day!!!

Fun Stuff!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you are having a great Saturday!! We took my DD Holly, her DH John, and my parents out to the Olive Garden for lunch today. What yummy food...I am sooo full and sleepy!!! I would really like to take a nap but I have to go plant some flower for Mom in a little while. In the mean time, I will have to keep my fingers busy!! Anyway....

I made this bright and cheerful card for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today. Stef wanted us to find inspiration at the French Bull store. I decided to use this bedspread as my inspiration...love the yellows, pinks, and greens. I used the Stamp Oasis butterfly on the main image, the sentiment is one word from the Rubbernecker How Do I Love Thee background script, and the gorgeous SEI Mimosa dp for the background layers. The May Arts ribbon, flowers, and a bracelet finish it off. Now, I bet you are wondering about the bracelet....Anne (Itsapassion) was the hostess for the DDC challenge last week and she challenged us to find inspiration from the awesome scrapbook layouts in the SBSC31 challenge and as a twist, we needed to use a fashion accessory. I dug around in my old jewelry box and found this bracelet. If you would like to play along, be sure to add DDC to the keywords section of you upload so we can find your card. You can find all the DDC cards here.
Recipe:
Stamps: Stamp Oasis Butterfly, Rubbernecker How Do I Love Thee script
Paper: Prism Simply Smooth White, Prism, SEI Mimosa dp
Ink: Summer Sun, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Flowers, Ribbon, Cuttlebug, Leaf Folder, Sanding Block, Punch for Sentiment, Dimensionals, Bracelet

Isn't this just the cutest little bunny cuppie from Taylor's Sweet Spring set!!! I had to ink her up for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. This is also for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simple #81 challenge to use an egg on a card ( I used 3 egg brads) and for the DDC challenge 2 weeks ago (yikes...I am just a little behind!!) hosted by Michelle (sf9erfan) to make a 1-2-3 card. 1 piece of dp, 2 ribbons, and 3 brads. Well wouldn't ya know, I just realized I forgot one of the ribbons....guess I get the buzzer this week!!! I was going to add a little ribbon tab but forgot!!! You can check out the other DDC cards here. If you want to play along, be sure to add DDC to the keywords section of your upload and don't forget to use 2 ribbons!!!

It's a Rubbernecker Kinda Day!!!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!!!!!! Do you have plans for the weekend??? I hope to clean my dirty house and work a little in the flower gardens....maybe a little stamping, too!!!!

The Limited Supply challenge on Splitcoast today was a 1-2-3: 1 color of cardstock, 2 different designer papers, and 3 embellies. What a great challenge ....I loved the idea of two different dp's but I kinda had a hard time picking just 3 embellies...I guess that's why it's called a challenge!!!

The Stamp Oasis Moon Child image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on Prism Simply Smooth cs and the image was colored with copics. Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink was sponged around the edges of both, cutout with Nestabilities, layered with Prism Serious Black, and attached with dimensionals. The Rubbernecker Flourish and French Script backgrounds (Rubbernecker has several new background stamps...Whoohoo!!!) were stamped on the 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market dp and ribbon, black pearls, and a red prima finish it off.

The closeup shows this beautiful image...you can see the whole set of Stamp Oasis Goddess images here.

The new Rubbernecker Loose Weave background stamp was used on the green piece of Basic Grey Marrakech dp using Always Artichoke. Ribbon and Candy Dots finish it off.

Sunflower Sparkle

Good morning!! First, I want to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers for my Dad....he is home now and feels much better. They changed some medications and hopefully that will take care of the problem!! There's nothing like a few days in the hospital to make one appreciate their home, bed, food, and privacy!!! Anyway....I got back in the craft room this morning and I am a new woman!!!

The Ways to Use It challenge on Splitcoast was to use foil. I have had the copper foil bits for ages and finally had a chance to use them. The Clear Dollar Stamps Sunflower Songs images were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Basic Grey's Marrakech dp, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. The leaves in the background were stamped with Always Artichoke and colored with copics. The leaves around the smaller flowers were cutout and attached with glue dots. I drew the pot onto the BG Marrakech paper, cut it out, and attached it to the white cs with dimensionals, also.

The foil was attached to the flower centers with glue and a clip, ribbon, twill, hardware, Primas, and a Candy Dot finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!!! I'm headed back to the craft room to finish a few more projects and do a little blog hopping!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sunflower Songs
Paper: Whisper White, Really Rust, Pacific Point, Basic Grey Marrakech dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Rich Cocoa
