Shaker Birthday Card

Hello everyone!! I have been AOL the last week or so because my sweet Mother has been in the hospital. She is almost 96 and fell...she broke a couple of ribs and has had some complications so my crafting time is limited!! I did get a shaker card finished for my grandson's birthday so yay me!!!! What kid doesn't like a shaker card especially when it's filled with lots of sparkly sequins.

I started out by using the Taylored Expressions Up, Up, & Away Cutting Plate to cut the front of the card out of Candy Corn cardstock. The single balloon dies from the same die set were used to cut out balloons from patterned paper and they were adhered to the top of the diecut. Another Candy Corn diecut was cut and the balloon strings were cut out along with two more patterned paper balloons and they were adhered to the patterned paper used for the backing. The sentiment from the In & Out - Birthday stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

A piece of acetate was adhered to the inside of the top cutting plate diecut and then foam tape was cut and adhered around the back edges of the front piece.

The tape was removed from the foam tape except for 4 pieces at the top and then the top piece was adhered to the patterned paper back. The sequins were poured into the inside through the top and then the tape was removed from the remaining 4 pieces of foam tape...they were then adhered to together so the sequins were safe inside the front and the back. This was then adhered to the Sugar Cube cardbase...I may get a nasty gram from my DIL when the kids tear this apart and sequins go everywhere...LOL!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by....have a great day and I hope this inspires you to create your own shaker card!!
