TLC476 - Embedded Diecut

Hello everyone!!!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!!! We had a wonderful spring rain today....hope it helps the May flowers!!!!! I have lots of weeding to do and plants to plant so I hope it drys out tomorrow.  BTW...my Mother's 94th birthday is tomorrow!! We had our family party yesterday and she really enjoyed it...George got her a princess balloon and a tiara....she felt special all weekend!!! Anyway...

It's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast and I have a real fun and easy one for ya!!

I have been seeing a lot of this technique in blogland and on Pinterest so I had to give it a try!!! I think it makes a project look more finished than just adhering the diecut to the top of the background. I have named it *Embedded Diecut*. Here are the deets:

1. Use a die to cut out a piece of card stock....the negative piece will be your background so pick the color and size you want for this layer.
2. Use the same die to cut out an image in patterned paper or different colored cardstock
3. Add the patterned paper diecut pieces to the negative of the cardstock and glue in place.
4. This is pretty easy, especially if you use a simple die!! If you use a more intricate die, you will be gluing the tiny pieces down for a while....embellish as desired.

For my card, I used the new Silhouette Stems 6 flower die from Taylored Expressions. It was used to cut out the flower and the vase was cut out with one of the new TE Various Vases dies. Then the dies were used to cutout diecuts from Basic Grey's Konnichiwa 6x6 paper pad. The patterned paper pieces were adhered in the negative of the Choice Snow White cardstock layer. The scallops were created with the TE Medium Scallop Border and the sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Sunflower Bouquet set. The enamel dots and the hemp finish it off.

Now it's your turn....scroll on over to Splitcoast and join my challenge...I would love to see what you create!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!
