Embossed Roses

Good morning everyone!! I am really excited ...my niece from Alaska will be arriving later this morning for an overnight visit. She will be retiring from the Air Force in May and has been in Dallas interviewing for a job. She is an OR nurse so I'm sure she will have her pick of positions. I am thrilled she wants to settle in the Dallas area....I am only 2 1/2 hours south which is a heck of a lot closer than Alaska!!! I'm not sure how she will handle the heat...summer temps in Alaska run around 70 degrees unlike our 100+ degree weather!! Anyway....I made this card last night while watching a show about hoarders. After watching that show, I thought I better clean out my craft room...LOL!!!
The Rubbernecker stamp called Rose Silhouette #537-01    was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embosses with clear ep. The patterned paper in the background is from 7 Gypsies Avignon and the rhinestones, lace, seam binding, button and twine finish it off.

I made this for the following challenges:
1. Paper Sundaes - green, buttons, banners, and/or twine - use at least 2
2. Scrappy Frogs Challenge - bling
3. Mark's Finest Papers - embossing (I heat embossed the silhouette)
4. Sugar Creek Hollow - buttons and bows
5. Cas-ual Fridays - embossing (I used heat embossing)

Thanks for stopping by...I'm off to clean my house a little and make some home made blueberry muffins for breakfast....yummmm!!!

Beautiful card! Love that ribbon and bow too. So lovely.
Know it will be good to see your niece and I doubt she'll have too much trouble landing a job in the Dallas area.
I also like to watch the Hoarders - too, too, funny.

Hi Joan, can you put me down for a blueberry muffin please? :)

Your card is gorgeous, and i particularly like that shade of green, it looks very elegant with the black from the stamping and the button, and this is very much the style I associate with you. Just lovely!

Great that your niece will be so much closer to you, hope she gets used to the heat quickly. CoB

So funny about the hoarding and your craft room! Love this card - it's so pretty with the olive BG paper and that stunning black and white focal image. The lace and the crinkle ribbon and button just top it off in a perfectly vintage way. Thanks for joining us in the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week.

Joan, you have taken elegance to a whole new level! The image is stunning in black and the green is so rich. The crinkled ribbon wraps it all up and makes me think of a lovely vintage gown of taffeta and velvet! See how you have conjured up such a lovely image? That's what it is all about and you are such an inspiration!

THis is lovely, Joan! The skewed panel looks really good, and the ribbon/button cluster offsets the embossed image beautifully. Hey, is it you who was published in a Paper Crafts mag recently (can't remember which issue/special)? I thought it might be. :) THanks for playing with Speedy's Friends this week!
