Coffee, Birds, Cupcakes, and Shoes!

Hello everyone and happy Monday!! Can you believe Easter is next weekend...OMG, where has this year gone??? I'm up to my usual Monday tricks...stamping in my pj's and ignoring my dirty house!! We will have a house load of company over the weekend and next week for my Mother's 90th birthday party so I will start cleaning Wednesday. If I start too soon, I'll have to do it twice...yikes!!! Anyway...I made a card for the CAS challenge this morning on Splitcoast. This is also for the Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential challenge to use a coffee theme. The images from Rubbernecker's Coffeetime set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the cups were colored with copics. The coffee pot was paper pieced with Basic Grey's Kioshi dp. The sentiment from the same set says "Our friendship is as strong as my coffee and your hairspray!"
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Coffeetime
Paper: Kraft, Basic Grey's Kioshi
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Spellbinders Die, Square Punch, Ribbon, Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, Copics

I made this card yesterday for Anne Ryan's Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoast. This week the queen is none other that the wonderful Pat Smethers!!! I was sooo excited to see my little sis chosen as the Queen ....she is sooo deserving!!!! Talk about a wonderful friend, sistah, wife, mother, mentor....I just wish I lived closer so I could hug her sweet neck..... I'll have to let the Buckle Man do that for me!! Now, down to the nitty grity....did ya get a look at Pat's gallery...OMG!!! I am sooo blown away every time I go check it out....I spent hours just cruzin. I finally decided to case Darla's Song...what a gorgeous card!!! I kept the same layout and bird theme but changed the papers, corner piece, added a ribbon, and left off the bling. Sistah, you are the best...congrats on this special honor!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Weathered Background
Paper: Vanilla, Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart, Websters Pages, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Spellbinders Scalloped Edge, Stampin Up! Bird Die, Corner Die, Ribbon, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch

Brandi ( Beedubya) was chosen as the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast yesterday. This was a new gallery to me and I tell ya, it was fabulous!! I chose to case the Cupcake for you card...I kept the same layout and cupcake theme but changed the stamps, papers, and added doodling around the inchie layers instead of using faux stitching. The cupcakes from Rubbernecker's Party Time set were colored with copics, cutout, and popped up on dimensionals. Candy Dots were added to the corners and the ribbon tabs finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Party Time
Paper: Stampin Up! dp, White, Prism Intense Orange, Prism Nautical Blue Dark, Ruby Red
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Candy Dots, Ribbon, Croner Punch, Cuttlebug, Dotted Swiss folder, Copics, Dimensionals, Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Friday's Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast was really fun!! Wendy challenges us to make a card inspired by a favorite musical and the card MUST be any size and/OR shape that is NOT A2, or standard size. I had to think about this for a while!! I finally decided to make my card around the musical Chicago...I just loved that movie!!! I was sooo impressed with all the dancing that I made my card to honor one of the greatest dancers of all time...Ginger Rogers!! As the sentiment says..."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, she just did it backwards and in high heals"...what a woman!! This is also for the Twisted Sisters Challenge to case a card from Jamie's (JaniePTS) gallery and what a fabulous gallery to find inspiration!!! I decided on her Snow Business...I kept the same basic layout and colors but changed the shape to a square design, changed the theme, stamps, and added the ribbon, silver cording, and silver pearls. The shoe image from Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy and Fabulous set was paper pieced with Basic Grey's Marrakech paper, cutout, and popped up on the white Nesties shape. I titled this Happy Dance because Jamie is now reunited with her DH...I can just see her dancing now...Whoohoo!!!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy and Fabulous
Paper: White, Ballet Blue, Basic Grey Marrakech

Three of the images from Clear Dollar Stamps Bitty Botanicals were stamped on the Webster's Pages dp and cutout with a Blossom Nestie. A Martha Stewart Punch was used for the butterflies. The wide lace was attached over the Prism Wizard Medium cardstock that was run through the Cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder and then distessed with my handy dandy kitchen knife. The sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps Birthday Celebration was also stamped directly onto the dp and piercing was done around the next layer. Distressing along all the background edges finishes it off.

A Swan and a Butterfly

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great Wednesday!! I actually got my shower early and started doing laundry before I inked up my stamps...shock!!! I hope I'm not turning over a new leaf...LOL!!!
I made this card for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast today but when I finally got it uploaded, it disappeared. They have been going through a switch of servers so I hope it finds it's way to the gallery!!
My layers were made with the beautiful Laura Ashley designer paper...I lined all the layers up so the pattern on the paper would create the tree scene. The swan from Verve's Swan Song set was colored with copics, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. The ribbon finishes it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Swan Song by Verve
Paper: Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, White, Old Olive, Laura Ashley dp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Ribbon, Nestabilities, Dimensionals
I had a small piece of this gorgeous Webster's Pages designer paper sitting on the counter after another project and just had to use it!! I used scrap pieces of Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and Sage Shadow to create a birthday card for a friend. The butterfly image from Rubbernecker's Butterfly Inchies set and the sentiment from Rubbernecker's Party Time set were both stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, cutout with oval Nestabilities, and popped up on Dimensionals. The pearl and flower flourish was divided and attached to both sides of the sentiment layer. The ribbon finishes it off.

The background Sage Shadow layer was run through the Cuttlebug with the Fleurde Lisa folder. The flowers on the pearl flourish were originally green. I colored them with a brown copic so they would blend better with the paper.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Butterfly Inchies and Rubbernecker Party Time
Paper: Vanilla, Sage Shadow, Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, Webster's Pages Your Life. Beautiful
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Prima Pearl and Flower Flourish, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Cuttlebug, Fleurde Lisa Folder

Thanks for visiting today...hope your evening is wonderful!!

Think Pink!

Hello everyone...hope you are have a wonderful day!!! I am sooo lazy today......still in my pj's and it's almost noon...yikes!!!! I have a whole list of things to do but I would rather be here showing you some new projects both with lots of pink!! I received some images from my friend, Michelle Rodgers, at Stampers Dream a while back and finally got them colored and made into cards!! The darling Vanity Table by Impression Obsession was colored with Tombow markers and matted on Melon Mambo. The background is from Stampin Up! and silver pearls, flowers, ribbon, and silver cording finish it off.
This adorable image, also from Michelle, called Brimming With Love by Penny Black was colored with copics, matted on a black Nesties Blossom layer, and the flowers, button with twine, Candy Dots, and wood flourishes finish it off.
My sewing machine is not working so I thought I would add some faux stitching....I really havta get that thing fixed!!!

Thanks for stopping by today....I'm going back to the craft room to clean up my mess. I sure do need a Fairy Godmother who likes to clean, organize, and also does windows...LOL!!!

I'm Back in the Craft Room!!!

Hello everyone....my wonderful grandchildren went home (they were here for spring break) so this tired old grandma played a little in the craft room today!!!! I made this card for the Queen for the Day challenge on Splitcoast hosted by Anne Ryan to honor Miss Peggy (marilynprestonn).
I sooo love each and every card in Peggy's gallery but since I only had time for one, I chose to case her gorgeous Purple Easter Bunny and Tulips card. I kept the same wonderful layout and some of the same colors but changed the stamps to the cross, flower, and sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps Jesus Paid it All set. The crosses were stamped with Vesafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. The flowers were colored with copics and the background of the circles were sponged with Almost Amethyst. The pearls and punched butterfly finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Jesus Paid it All
Paper: White, Black, Prism Island Mist Light, Basic Grey Wisteria
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Pearls, Nestabilities, Copics, Clear Embossing Powder

Cathy (Mutnik) was the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast yesterday!!! She has such a fabulous gallery and I am sooo in awe of her talents!!! I made a feeble attempt to case her CC223 - CAS19-....loving ewe..I mean...you... card. I kept the same basic layout and colors but changed the stamps to the bunny image from Clear Dollar Stamps Circle Chit Chat. I popped up two of the bunnies and added hop doodles instead of doodling around the circle....I also added a scalloped Nesties frame. Don't look too close at my three little round circles...I used an eraser on the end of a pencil but they look kinda pitiful...that's why you only see three of them...LOL!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Circle Chit Chat
Paper: White, Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose
Accessories: Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch

Wednesday Catch Up!!

Good morning everyone....I have been such a blog slacker this week!!! I have not been that busy but sooo lazy.....it must be spring fever!! Anyway....I need to get caught up because we will have three grand kiddos next week for spring break......Whoohoo!!! Hopefully, we can do some fun things...anyway....I better get down to business.
I made this card yesterday for the Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo, and Bashful Blue. The dessert part of the challenge was to make a card for a friend of Cindy Motherway's named Lindsay who is going through a real rough time right now.

This is also for last weeks DDC challenge hosted by Charlene (LilLuvsStampin) to make a card or project around a quote you find on the Quote Garden site. I chose my inspiration from this wonderful quote by Christopher Reeves "Once you choose hope, anything's possible". Also, (2) you must incorporate some representation of time in your design.

My sentiment spoke to tomorrow and I also stamped images of a clock on my "quilt" panels which was for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. We were going to a quilt show and needed to show that snooty Aquilta the Hun that the teapartiers can do anything she can do only better!!! My sewing machine bit the dust so I had to add my stiching with the ribbon and I also added a little piercing, flowers, a button, silver pearls, and silver cording. The frame image was from Nina Brackett's Lovely Labels and the sentiment was from Gina K's Inside Out set. The frame was stamped with Melon Mambo and the flowers were colored with Copics.
Recipe:
Stamps: Gina K's Inside and Out, Nina Brackett's Lovely Labels, Artifacts by Stampin Up!
Paper: Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey Sugar Rush dp, SU dp. White
Ink: Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Copics, Silver Pearls, Nestabilities, Flowers, Button, Silver Cording, Papertrey Ribbon

This was made Monday for Splitcoast's CAS challenge to use two different shaped layers and the Technique Lover's Challenge to make a Vintage card. I just love vintage so I inked up my Rubbernecker Long Stemmed Rose and Vintage Background stamps and went to work!! The rose was colored with copics, cutout and layered on two different Nesties layers for the CAS challenge. The silk ribbon is the only embellishment.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Long Stemmed Rose and Rubbernecker Vintage Background
Paper: White, black dp scrap
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Nestabilities, Copics, Dimensionals

Sunday's Featured Stamper on Splitcoast was Vera......she has such a fabulous gallery with lots of inspriation!! I chose to case the GKDFEB10LM Sung from the Heart card....I kept the same layout and colors (my pink is a little peachier) but changed the theme, stamps, and added a ribbon. The images from Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy & Fabulous set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Webster's Pages dp and colored with copics. The sentiment says "I enjoy the little things in life....shoes, handbags, and jewelry".
Recipe:
Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Sassy & Fabulous
Paper: White, Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss, Pure Luxury Innocent Pink, Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Ribbon, Buttons, Twine, Circle Punch, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Heart Folder, Copics, Dimensionals

My good friend Anne (Itsapassion) was the hostess for the Inspiration Challenge Saturday on Splitcoast and she had us go to the Ginko Paper store to find a little inspiration. I found lots of fun stuff .....finally chose the Animal Party Erasers as my inspiration. The adorable bee images from Clear Dollar Stamps Circle Chit Chat set was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with clear ep. The circle was popped up with dimensionals and the wings were paper pieced with More Mustard. The circle for the chick from the same set was stamped onto white with So Saffron and the nose, wings, and feet were stamped with Pumpkin Pie, cutout, and popped up with glue dots. The sentiment is from CDS's Scenic Trees set and the scene paper is from Nikki Sivil's Willow Bee 6x6 pad. A button with twine finishes it off. This is also for the Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential Challenge to make a friendship card.

Paper: White, More Mustard, Kraft, Nikki Sivils Willow Bee dp, Basic Grey's Pheobe dp

Cherries and Dragonflies

Good evening everyone...hope you are having a wonderful Friday evening!! I had some time to stamp today......this is for Taylor's Sketch Challenge #103 and Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #129 challenge to use punched borders. The images from Taylor's Berries and Cherries set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics. Barely Banana was sponged on the backgrounds while the cardstock was still in the Nesties Dies. Real Red and Old Olive markers were used to color the cherry border stamp at the bottom and and then a red copic was used to give the cherries a little more color. The button with the red gingham ribbon finishes it off. I left a little room at the top of the pie layer to add a sentiment.
Recipe:
Stamps: Berries and Cherries
Paper: White, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Variety dp by Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: EK Success Border Punch, Button, Ribbon, Copics, Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Taylor at Taylored Expressions is having a Dragonfly Card Drive. The cards will go to the nurses at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. The nurses give the cards to families experiencing the loss of their newborn in the NICU. Having worked as a nurse in the OB setting for many years, this touched my heart.
The dragonfly is used as a symbol of hope for families who have lost a child during delivery or in the early stages of life. Families are given a dragonfly card while they are in the hospital as something to hold on to, cherish, and comfort them after the quiet time spent with their son or daughter. In addition to a card, the parents receive a small ring with a poem, a prayer shawl for the mother (to symbolize God wrapping his loving arms around her), along with baby footprints and baby molds.

If you are interested in helping this cause, please check out the deets on the link above.

This is the inside of two of the cards.

The other two cards have this on the inside.
Recipes:
Stamps: Rubbernecker, Lizzie Anne, Sweet 'n Sassy, Hero Arts, Stampabilities
Papers: White, Prism Frosted Cobalt, Basic Grey Wisteria dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Almost Amethyst, Garden Green
Accessoreis: White SU Ribbon, Spellbinders Scalloped Edge, Nestabilities, Primas, Button, Floss, Pearls,
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Sad News and Happy Cards

First off, I want to thank everyone for the sweet comments and words of encouragement for our wonderful horse and new family member, Midnight. It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I let y'all know that her colt died several hours after delivery yesterday. The vet said he didn't have the nutrients needed due to Midnight's lack of care the last few years from her previous owners....I am happy to report that she is doing well and now we will concentrate on caring for her. One note of humor....she sure did put the male donkey's in their place....she let them know real quick who was in charge of the pasture!!! Anyway, on with the show....

I made this card for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I was sooo anxious for Spring that I pulled out some soft, springy colors, flowers, and the sweet image from the Woodware Clear Magic Stamp set called Garden Tots. The image was colored with copics and popped up with dimensionals. The white scallops were made with a Stampin Up! scalloped punch and I used Martha Stewart punches for the leaves and picket fence. Papertrey Ink ribbon, flowers, and a Candy Dot from Taylored Expressions finish it off.

The little flower was popped up for a little dimension.
Recipe:
Stamps: Woodware Clear Magic Stamps Garden Tots
Paper: White, Brazzill Blue, Making Memories dp, Stampin Up! dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Flowers, Candy Dot, Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, Martha Stewart Picket Fence Punch, Stampin Up! Scallop Punch, Papertrey Ink Ribbon, Copics

I made this card Tuesday for da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge. I was a little late to the tea party because I had some trouble getting all the bunnies on the plane to England!!! Since da Mudder made a request for bunnies and their butts, I couldn't let her down!! I'm not sure what she was going to do with them (hope it's not rabbit stew!!) but she better watch out...she will have more than she can handle in a few days...giggle!!! You can read all the details in the Teapot Tuesday forum. The little Rubbernecker Bunny Butts were colored with copics and White Flower Soft was added to the tails. The sentiment also from Rubbernecker was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, cutout with Nesties and bling was added for a little glam.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Bunny Butts and sentiment
Paper: White, Prism Twilight Light, Best Creation Inc. dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, White Flower Soft, Rhinestones, Copics

This is the card I made for Tuesday's Color Challenge on Splitcoast. I gotta say I kinda wrinkled my nose when I read the colors for the challenge but I am soo glad Betty encouraged us all to stretch ourselves a little..... the challenge colors were Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke, and Basic Gray. I needed to make another sympathy card so I kept it simple. I stamped the trees from Clear Dollar Stamps new set called Scenic Trees with Basic Gray ink onto the Basic Grey Indian Summer dp and the sentiment was from Clear Dollar Stamps Christian Sympathy set. The big eyelet and May Arts ribbon finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: CDS's Scenic Trees and CDS's Christian Sympathy
Paper: Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry, Basic Gray, Indian Summer dp by Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Big Eyelet, Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by....hope everything is wonderful in your little corner of the world!!!
